ANOTHER LEGACY MEDIA OUTLET GETS IT RIGHT …
We rarely expect the status-quo friendly MSM in South Carolina to get it right … but another outlet that’s following up on our big story regarding S.C. attorney general Alan Wilson has done just that.
Earlier this week we exposed how Wilson – who fancies himself as a 2018 gubernatorial contender – is attempting to influence an ongoing investigation of public corruption at the S.C. State House (on behalf of his political cronies).
What did he do? Earlier this month Wilson quietly released an advisory opinion – obtained exclusively by this website – in which he advised first circuit solicitor David Pascoe that several angles of potential prosecution against sitting members of the S.C. General Assembly were unlikely to yield indictments. Those members – like Wilson – are intimately connected to the neo-Confederate political empire of Richard Quinn and Associates.
Following our lead, The (Charleston, S.C.) Post and Courier did its own report on Wilson’s sketchy behavior … and now The (Columbia, S.C.) State newspaper has followed suit with a report of its own.
Written by reporter Cassie Cope, The State’s story begins by pointing out that “efforts to expand the investigation of possible ethics violations by state lawmakers have suffered a blow, thanks to opinions from (Wilson’s) office.”
According to Cope’s report, while Wilson’s opinion is non-binding it “could end the investigation into the legislators.”
Indeed it could … which would mean a return to “business as usual” at the S.C. State House.
While some good government advocates – most notable Common Cause’s John Crangle – have called out Wilson’s transparently self-serving behavior, there’s not the cacophony of outrage we heard during the prosecution of former S.C. Speaker of the House Bobby Harrell.
“Where are all the other ‘watchdogs?'” one Palmetto politico wondered. “They are being awfully quiet.”
Indeed.
That must change … or else Wilson will never be held accountable for attempting to shield his corrupt political allies from the consequences of their bad behavior.

TURN LOOSE THE HOUNDS..!! (Sir Hugo Baskerville)
I thought that was Charles Montgomery “Monty” Burns.
Monty says “Release the hounds” not much different.
The hounds of war always get “loosed” or “let slip.”
Let’s hope not.
You still pretending to be a Marine?
Most of the time, why ?
Who is tougher the Marines or ISIS?
Back in my day we were. Didn’t have rules like today. Everyone in front of us was dead. Now you have so many rules and ISIS may be.
Thanks for sharing.Good points. I do like the ISIS uniforms however.Their flag is to die for to some. :)
Peace brother, Merry Christmas.
Just look at Lyin’ Joe Wilson to see where this boy learned to cheat and lie about it. That’s one reason Vets are killing themselves in greater numbers than ever before. Lyin’ Joe gives Lip Service Only to helping Vets. He’d rather let the Koch Brothers keep the tax money we ought to be spending on Vets. Is anybody else enraged because there even has to be a charity called “Wounded Warriors” to help Vets? And now, Jeb wants to send them all over there again to be killed and/or wounded again to try to make his brother look like less of a war criminal for sending them there on lies in the firstplace
Well, after all, he was reared by Joe Wilson, is butt buddies with Haley, Danny Frazier and the Peelers, so why the confusion on betrayal, talking out of both sides of his mouth, and out and out falsehoods! You know what they say, “lay with Dogs, get up with Fleas” and “birds of a feather”. Ahhh, the ruling class elites, screw um!
Want to see this about Wilson in Drudge Report?
MSM ? Main Stream Media or Men who have Sex with Men? I want to say that it stands for the latter… Yes, we got it FITS… Men who have Sex with Men… Alan Wilson and his political corrupted friends, Alan Wilson and Curtis Loftis. Alan Wilson and Rick Quinn.. Yes, that must change, for “Alan Wilson will be held accountable for shielding his corrupt political allies for the consequences of their bad behavior.” Elected to stand for justice, and paid to protect the corrupted elected officials of SC. What do you know? Pay to Protect the Corrupted…PPC.
Sweet campaign money… Elected officials can do what they want with it. Buy cars for their children, buy art from hubby , buy gas for their cars, take trips.. And the Attorney General will write an opinion letter to cover their corrupted butt. Doesn’t that make the AG a corrupted ass? Does it make it legal? I say that the opinion letter from a corrupted AG is thrash. A corrupted AG is a corrupted individual and he needs to go to jail.. Alan Wilson is not standing for justice ! PPC indeed.
As a result of recent action by Attorney General Bugger Wilson two prominent South Carolinians, Michael Haley and David Pascoe, have established the First Chapter of South Carolina Eunuchs on the Outside Looking Inside
Note: Within the last 24 hours another Cockroach,Van Hegler, has received his membership card
I’m bonin’ yer neighbor’s aunty and yer momma too, dipshit.
Did u mean ur momma?
I boned a pic of Borock yesterday.
Another legitimate problem that will probably never be heard, remembered, or understood by the average GOP voter come election time. Which is a real pity.
Well here it is, election day. Who do I vote for? Alan Wilson… Wasn’t I mad at him for some reason? Thought I said I was going to vote for someone else. Who’s running against him?
Jesus Christ (D)
Well, guess I’ll hold my nose and vote for Wilson anyways…
It’s certainly doubtful that the average Democrat voter in SC will hear, remember, or understand it, either. The level of corruption in both parties depends on fooling the voters in everything they do.
Right on. No matter how much it affects everyone in the state, it’s just hard to make these stories get traction with people outside the Columbia echo chamber. You’re absolutely right, though. This corruption is across-the-board. I think many people say, “you can’t trust a politician,” but when it comes time to vote, they still think it doesn’t apply to “their” candidate. Well. time to get back to digging my hermit cave.
The only voter that is fooled is YOU!
Putz.
^^^ Dumbest non sequitur of the month.
Both parties are corrupt however us liberals got to stick together.
It is Friday afternoon and it appears that Fitsnews doesn’t like rainbows or unicorns, because the monthly SC employment news released this morning by SCDEW and the US DOL is astonishingly good.
We would hear all about it if it was bad news, but good news to fits is like water to Wicked Witch of the West. Upon hearing this news, Folks would melt into a slime with only his Gamecock jersey and cap remaining as evidence of his existence.
It’s also another Friday and the Great lawsuit still goes – nowhere.
Saw your list of Obama accomplishments for the year. I’m sure Pete will appreciate it I was thinking about a similar list for Haley’s first year of her second term. It’s unusual for a second term to be better than the first, but so far Haley’s has.
You and Rocky are clueless on all things political/sports yet are the nicest liberals on FitsNews.
Yes. I don’t know nothing about sports. It will be proven eventually when Clemson loses. It’s got to happen eventually.
Ron Paul is right, the dollar has to crash eventually. He doesn’t have to predict when or give a deadline. He is never wrong. It just needs more time. Until then everything is irrational. You don’t have to explain why you’re wrong if it’s irrational.
“Guest”???…Lost your user name again, funny and easy.
What a putz you are.
Nicest liberal? I take that as a micro aggression. This is not a safe space. ;-)
He is a Putz.I am gay and that safe space is important to me.Only two things come from Iowa-steers and queers. My daddy didn’t raise steers.
I believe in being civil, but not being sheltered from opposing opinions.
I like that about you.You play both sides of the fence well and are usually civil unlike the Putz.
My boy Sanders sued Hillary and the DNC.Proud of him.If he comes out as gay tonight at the debate, I will support him.
It would even be better if it turns out that Sanders is black.
At least ‘half black’.They say once you go black, you never go back?
Hillary is already there with her Ebonics. “I yah so tyard.”
I like that.I tried Ebonics in Iowa one time and they made me shuck corn and take the seeds out of the watermelons at the state fair for three days.
It must have been a great honor in Iowa.
I was the best.I kept the watermelon seeds and planted them. They came up as corn.I tried putting corn in the gas tank and the car wouldn’t start.
Don’t watch this!

Clemson’s comebacks always fall short.
You should sue.

Interesting info from the CDC on Opioid deaths. National rates are exploding. South Carolina is right in the middle of the states, but rising slightly higher than aveage. Interesting sortable charts by age adjusted rates in the first link.

Alan Wilson is a dope and a typical full of crap tea party politician.
What white privilege private school did you crawl out of?
The AG can only provide legal opinion on the law as it stands. He cannot change the law. It seems pretty clear that the law allows for the actions the prosecutor was seeking clarification on – that elected officials can use family businesses to do their political work.
Not saying that is right, but the law needs to be changed. The AG cannot change the law.
