NEW GAMECOCK COACH MAKING ADDITIONAL HIRES
South Carolina’s new head football coach is retaining the man who led the program on an interim basis following the mid-season resignation of Steve Spurrier.
Will Muschamp announced the hiring of Shawn Elliott as the Gamecocks offensive line coach this week – headlining his second round of staff moves.
“I am pleased to keep Shawn on the staff,” Muschamp said. “He loves the University of South Carolina and has done a fantastic job here.”
Hired by Spurrier in January 2010 as the coordinator of the running game, Elliott was named co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach in 2012. After taking over for Spurrier in mid-October, Elliott posted a 1-5 record as interim head coach – although his team played with a renewed intensity down the stretch.
Muschamp also announced the hiring of Jeff Dillman as the team’s new strength and conditioning coach. Dillman held the same position for three years under Muschamp at Florida – and served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Alabama this season.
Last week Muschamp announced the hiring of former Auburn standout Travaris Robinson as his defensive coordinator/ defensive backs coach and veteran South Carolina high school coach Bobby Bentley as his running backs coach.

That actually seems like a pretty smart move on Muschamp’s part.
If it was a smart move it was purely by accident.
Muschamp needs a permanent home on a psychiatrist’s couch. Check out those eyes.
That’s not Muschamp in the picture.
Retained because the offensive line was so awesome this year.
I must always talk bad against South Carolina when they are mentioned. Its all that I have in my life, and it makes me feel like the big boy my mommy always said I was. This year I can sit at the big boy table at Christmas, as long as I don’t poop my pants again
You have me confused with Hugh Leatherman.
More like Todd Rutherford
Old news!!
I can only comment on article about USC or Black people as I feel the need to mention derogatory things about both of them to make myself feel better. Its the only thing in the world I have. I really am that pathetic.
As if you’re fooling anyone.
he is just saying what everyone here is always thinking
Move to Bub Schumpert Road in Pelion — you’ll feel like a KING!
ps: I checked with the mayor and there are no plans to pave that damned washboard road….
Speaking of old news, how’d the Clemson-USC football game go? No coverage or commentary yet – why?
Will has now closed the voting for the Heisman Trophy.
Derrick Henry from Alabama was awarded the Heisman Trophy…
— thought I’d mention it here
—— just in case someone didn’t know
——— or hear about it somewhere else

True Story: I think this was in the summer of 1981 at a fund raiser held at Dutch Square Kmart. George Rogers (a really nice guy) was participating and was going to sign footballs for the kids. OK, I’m there helping get ready and the first kid in line is getting his football autographed. George signs his name, pauses, looks at me, and grins (catching me off guard) — “Henry, what was my number?”
Great story! You can Hear George on the College Football channel on Sirius/XM. He and two other Heisman winners hosted a pre-announcement show which was great to listen to. Did a terrific job, too. I remember following his career from my desk at Ch6 in Wilmington. Good memories..
Watson was posted to the All America 1st squad and deserved the Heisman. Clemson just signed the top rated Hi schooler. You Moo-U people have a right to be proud of your team.
…. thanks for sharing that info
Feel free to start your own site to write a story if you want to troll
USC, Jr. is JV at best. The coaching hires are JV and the AD is C-team. It’s going to just like the years prior to Spurrier. Sorry fellers USC, Jr. will be a .500 team for many years.
Bless your heart
