THE INTERSECTION OF POLITICAL CORRECTNESS AND NATIONAL SECURITY
|| By ROBERT ROMANO || Consider these facts: One of the Paris bombers was posing as a refugee with his passport, and so, racing against time, the U.S. Congress took up legislation to increase to increase FBI monitoring of refugees fleeing the war in Syria and Iraq that would come to the U.S., of which 10,000 are expected.
And, then, after the San Bernardino attacks where one of the killers was a Pakastani here on a fiancée visa, Congress responded with legislation to require additional screening in the visa waiver program – which waives visa requirements in 38 Western countries – for anybody who has recently visited Syria, Iraq, or other terrorist havens identified by the Department of Homeland Security in consultation with the Director of National Intelligence and the State Department. Certain reports have indicated that these will also include Iran and Sudan.
Would these pieces of legislation have actually helped to stop the attacks?
The San Bernardino killer did not get here on the visa waiver program, and the pair were not said to have traveled to Syria or Iraq. And the Paris attackers, while one was posing as a refugee, the others were either born in or were French nationals born to immigrants from Algeria, Morocco, and elsewhere throughout the wider region. They all slipped through the cracks, and in the process have exposed massive intelligence failures by Western agencies who seemingly now lack sufficient capacity to identify the current crop of bad guys.
The visa waiver restrictions in the House bill would only affect participants in the visa waiver program – Andorra, France, Liechtenstein, San Marino, Australia, Germany, Lithuania, Singapore, Austria, Greece, Luxembourg, Slovakia, Belgium, Hungary, Monaco, Slovenia, Brunei, Iceland, Netherlands, South Korea, Czech Republic, Ireland, New Zealand, Spain, Denmark, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Japan, Portugal, Switzerland, Finland, Latvia, Republic of Malta, Taiwan, Chile, and the United Kingdom – who happened to travel to the aforementioned terror states.
Meaning, the legislation will not affect the tens of thousands of visas issued every year from North Africa, the Middle East and Asia. In 2014, according to data compiled by the State Department, the U.S. accepted 1,984 visas from Syria, 2,181 from Iraq, 3,858 from Jordan, 2,008 from Lebanon, 578 from Saudi Arabia, 7,049 from Iran, 13,917 from Pakistan and so forth.
Now, one common denominator is that some of the attackers in Paris had traveled to Syria. On the other hand, the only recent travel mentioned for the San Bernardino killers was to Saudi Arabia. The verdict therefore is the legislation would not have prevented the San Bernardino killer from getting her fiancée visa.
See the problem? Congress is playing a game of whack-a-mole with travel restrictions, attempting to address a real problem but actually accomplishing very little. It is chaos – well-intentioned chaos perhaps, but chaos nonetheless – and it won’t stop the next round of attacks in its current form.
Even a pause in all travel from the wider region, as Americans for Limited Government called for last month, would only have stopped some but not all of the killers had it been in place prior to the attacks. Same problem with Donald Trump‘s even wider call for a travel ban on all non-citizen Muslim travel, as neither addresses the home-grown killers in our midst.
Still, all of the proposals to varying degrees of efficacy share one thing in common: They all contemplate some range of travel restrictions to and from majority Muslim countries where the terrorists are known to come from.
But each proposal is not being treated with the same lens by today’s political and media culture. If the travel restrictions proposed contemplate those coming out of North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, or specifically, their nationalities, or where they traveled to, it draws zero ire. Those proposals are allowed to be considered by today’s thought police.
You mention the fact that every single one of the killers was Muslim, as Trump did, and propose making religion the identifier for a travel restriction as opposed to nationality – even though the other proposals contemplate restrictions that would admittedly restrict Muslim travel from the region – and you’re labeled a bigot or a demagogue.
That was Trump’s “thought crime.” He identified Islam instead of playing the politically correct game of simply calling for regional travel restrictions for some countries in the world of Islam. Had he called for certain nation-based restrictions, even broad ones such as those issued by Franklin Roosevelt in World War II against Germans, Italians and Japanese, the “thought police” would have had to allow it.
Focus on the religion, and it became a crime.
Now that we’ve outlined the rules of not only discourse, but which travel restrictions might be acceptable by today’s culture, let’s consider how the killers likely view their own nationhood. Were they French nationals, in the case of the Paris attackers? Were they American citizens or Pakastani immigrants, in the case of the San Bernardino killers?
None of the above.
Islam, for all intents and purposes, is as much a nationality, culture, and even a geographic region as it is a religion. Ummah in Arabic means “nation,” and depending on the interpretation, could refer to the whole Islamic nation or community. The caliphate, both in history and its modern iteration sought by Islamic State, is an example of attempts to bring a single government or rule to the entire Ummah, that is, all Muslims in the world.
That is simplifying a bit for the purposes of brevity – for more on Islamic State’s interpretation of the Ummah we recommend this Abu Dhabi-based Trends Research and Advisory paper on the topic, “ISIS Rhetoric for the Creation of the Ummah” – but the Ummah is a critical concept for Western countries to comprehend in considering who the enemy is and how they identify themselves.
Bottom line: It won’t be written on their passports.
The nationality and nations traveled to identifiers currently used by Congress, and even the wider regional identifier sought by Americans for Limited Government last month, to do with travel restrictions admittedly ignore completely this central tenant, which is a transcendent concept of nation and of a people that crosses borders.
Very simply, this is the dilemma facing every intelligence agency in the West. Those radicalized by Islamic State will not recognize the legitimacy of secular governments anywhere, since their goal is hegemony of the Ummah. Looking at their passports to check which countries they traveled to will matter a lot less than identifying a belief in this goal. In that context, the attacks in Paris and San Bernardino were attempts to expand the Ummah to other nations outside the world of Islam or at least to hurt those nations.
In other words, you do not need to be from or have traveled to Syria, Iraq, or other terror havens to believe in the hegemony of the Ummah, but you do need to be a Muslim.
Considering the radical ideology involved rests on a belief in this sort of transcendent nationhood, asking which country they are from won’t matter. That means the discussion of Islam prompted by Trump is actually the right one to have. Until intelligence agencies can get a handle on who the extremists are, broad travel restrictions may be the only way to keep any new killers from traveling to the U.S., and even then, we have to accept that many of them may already be here.

None of the Paris attackers was a refugee nor pretended to be. All of the terrorists identified by French authorities were European nationals. Another lie by Trump and his incredibly gullible supporters eat it right up. His entire platform is a fraud based on nothing more than Trump’s insanely ignorant mind.
http://www.ibtimes.com/paris-attack-2015-named-terrorists-all-european-nationals-not-syrian-refugees-2191677
Meh, not so much – at least one of the attackers, Ahmad AlMohammad, posed as a Syrian refugee, using a fake Syrian passport. This has been reported in multiple places:
http://www.wsj.com/articles/paris-stadium-attacker-entered-europe-via-greece-1447698583
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/bomber-ahmad-al-mohammad-refugee-route_5649f615e4b08cda34899b66
The French authorities have not postively concluded that’s the case. Read articles after 11/16/15 when that false story went around the ‘net. All attackers were European. None were refugees. What would they have to gain by posing as a refugee?
I wondered that myself…..If the strategy of ISIS, and radical Islamic terrorism in general, is to overthrow the USA and turn it into a Muslim theocracy, how would demonizing refugees to the point where we restrict their entery into the country going to help that cause. It would only make it that much harder. Oh well, fear trumps reason everytime…
Or maybe the fear is based on reason. Is shooting and killing armed homed invaders that come to rob you in the middle of the night based on fear? Of course it is. But it’s fear based on reason, not “trumped” by it.
Two totally differnet things, but whatever…
I used an analogy to point out the absurdity of your logic. Obviously it’s “two totally different things”, that’s what analogies are.
I’m definitely not looking for logic from a Trump supporter. You guys are not even living in reality.
I’m definitely not looking for a rational, reasoned response that shows where I’m off from your Hillary supporters. You guys are not even living in reality.
You wonna continue down this juvenile path to nowhere? Your “logic” goes right to it.
NO U
Don’t stop, keep going.
Just stooping to your level, kid.
Yeah?….You should beout looking for a Holiday gift for these Trump supporters. They are going to give the nation the greatest gift next year. Another Democrat for president! Thanks guys! Happy Holidays!
You seem more scared of Farook than you do any of the other mass shooters over the last decade or two. Why is that?
Do we have to ask?
You seem more scared of other mass shooters than you do Farook. Why is that? Do I have to ask?
Still can’t think of your own responses?
Doesn’t matter why the crazy fucker is shooting you, it’ll still kill you. I think we need to deal with them all. Nothing Trump has suggested would come close.
Response to what? Your nonsensical assertions and veiled accusations? I’m not going on the defensive about something you just decide to make up. The narrative you have created in your head about Trump is convenient for bashing a boogeyman, but has nothing to do with what’s really going on.
You were practically gushing over Trump’s ban on immigration earlier so I’m not making any nonsensical or veiled anything. You are going on the defensive on behalf of your ego though.
Nice try. Now it’s “gushing”, huh? Anything you need to use to misrepresent things, keep at it. I remember a certain Grand Tango with the same modus operandi.
I don’t even have to go back that far to copy and paste your comments, but even if I did you’d probably be in denial about that as well. Why bother? It’s easier to just point out how pissed off you get when you’re called out for supporting a douchebag bigot like Trump and his shitty policies and get all defensive about people calling the PP shooter a Christian extremist.
Do it. Find something I said that supports what you’re saying. Even if you do, all it will prove is that you know how to take parse things and take them out of context. It’s good to know you’re only proud of whether or not you pissed me off, not whether or not you actually rebutted any of my points. All I pointed out regarding the PP shooter was the hypocrisy, not that people called him an extremist. You can’t even get that right, so you’re not going to get anything else right.
SC imports radicalized christian terrorists to Colorado. I know that’s an undeniable fact.
Yeah, probably not so much. Our Colorado shooter came by way of North Carolina, Western North Carolina, where if you really want to find Christian extremist you’ve come to the right place. Not to mention the guy was already established as a criminal and well-known whack job.
Them’z where the snake handlers are. Nothin’ says thank ya Lord then a couple of swigs of poison and a timber rattler.
Where else would our potheads go? Good riddance. Colorado is the new South Carolina. ;-)
Except with better health, incomes, levels of education and beauty.
Calling another state the “new South Carolina” is a pretty good insult, but not as insulting as it is to South Carolina.
Can’t we find a place to export the SC meth tweakers instead?
Florida. Mainly central area north of Orland up to Palatka.
Like this one? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/france/11996120/Paris-attack-what-we-know-about-the-suspects.html

As for posing as refugees, the open border nature of Europe combined with the “pitiful, poor, refugee status” meant that passport discrepancies were often overlooked.
Problem you have is Obama is a radical Islamist protecting terrorists and a majority of americans have figured it out.
I sure hope Trump takes your imaginary majority and runs as an independent.
Let’s see your ‘majority’ in action. Well, we have at the PP in Colorado Springs. But just voting action.
“Would these pieces of legislation have actually helped to stop the attacks?”
No, it just means that the FBI and associated Federal agencies screening these immigrants, were just forced, two times, to get better at doing nothing.
I am convinced that anyone from the Middle East could legally get into this country if they had the desire.
That’s the problem with Trump supporters. “I am convinced……” ‘trumps’ actual facts.
They go strictly on emotion and ignore any documented proof that says otherwise. Just like the orange buffoon.
What has Trump got to do with this, it is the feckless Obama administration that has failed us.
The only thing that Trump has done in the arena of immigration is force this issue to everyone’s attention, oops… except Obama.
Obama has been insisting for months that there is nothing wrong with our immigration policy.
“What has Trump got to do with this….”
Not only do you ignore facts, you ignore the headlines and content of the articles you comment on.
This debate on Muslims immigrants is not about race , nationality, geography, it about a culture and a religion that is intent upon killing us based on beliefs that can be traced back thousands of years.
Trump is merely a diversion for the likes of you. the truth exists and some choose to ignore it.
I’m glad you don’t leave the house much.
Trump is a diversion for the GOP and it’s voters. Glaringly, so…..
Can’t debate the issue, so go personal, typical of you and your ilk.
Listen you can’t piss me off, seen turds like you all my life.
Debating one of Trump’s pretend policies is absolutely pointless.
Pointing out the idiocy of his followers is just entertaining at this point.
Yeah, it is “pointless.” when you are on the losing side.
At least you came to that conclusion yourself.
You’re becoming slightly more self-aware. Glad I could help!
Boome and erneba are under the false sense of superiority that society hinges on fringe morons like them protecting us from the over 1 billion evil bad people called Muslims trying to kill us because they hate our freedoms.
Believe it or not society keeps right on ticking without a bunch of right wing racist assholes clenching their anuses at the sight of a hijab and screaming about political correctness and cultural Marxism because society doesn’t agree with their bullshit anymore.
Continue in your misrepresentations and lying narratives.
No, that’s exactly what you come across as, Mr. Boome. So called conservatives have fucked this country over since Reagan but on social issues you guys have taken a drubbing every step of the way. Every time we watch you wipe the blood from your lip and line up for the next punch, but on the way you’re sure to tell us how America is turning more and more like you. Thank God you guys have been wrong for quite a while.
You have no specifics. Only broad generalizations, juvenile comparisons, and straw men to base all this nonsense on.
Being all for Trump’s immigration ban is a broad generalization of Muslims and is quite juvenile of you, I absolutely agree, but that is pretty much a description of all Trump supporters.
In this instance, it’s the same “broad generalization” made by numerous democrat presidents in the past and by other countries. I would hate for you to have lived 30-60 years ago, even your democrat presidents would have let you down big time.
Losing side? Look around you buddy, you guys are a dying breed. Trump’s playing you idiots like a fiddle.
You better hope so, otherwise your side will be “a dying breed”.
How so? We are young and reproducing faster than white, conservative voters. Are you threating people with premature death?
If Trump wins, you will probably just kill yourself off. Nobody will have to do it.
Except you haven’t pointed anything out except that you have nothing more than unsubstantiated assertions.
Just like your hero, Trump?
He’s nothing but one giant, unsubstantiated assertion.
Sure, I guess it would be better if he just apologized on behalf of the perpetrators and castigated those pointing out the threat, just like Obama.
Do you actually tell people in real life you support Trump?
Wow, great retort. I got one for you. Do you actually tell people in real life you support Hillary/Bernie?
I certainly do. Can’t wait for either one of them to be president!
Which one will you vote for….since Trump won’t be an option?
Actually he’s going to hand it to one of them. Thanks for all of your help!
That global warming is the greatest threat to our national security is definitely the winning ticket.
Seems to be working just fine. Seriously, thank you again for supporting Trump and helping hand the presidency to the Democrats. You must realize we can’t suffer another eight years of Republicans destorying our economy and standing in the world. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
“Seems to be working just fine”. Huh? Based on what poll? And even if it were, you’re gonna ignore where Trump is kicking ass?
With racists and bigots? Sure, he’s kicking ass. Thanks again!
That’s a hell of a lot of racists and bigots. You need to GTFO this country while you can if that’s the case. The white sheets will be all over you.
Did you attend the Citadel?
See, you can’t any stay on topic. No, I didn’t nor would it matter if I did just because of a small group of jackasses with sheets on their heads.
He’s probably busy dreaming of a white Christmas, if you know what I mean.
They must be pissed, they are all over themselves with personal attacks and kiddie like insults…
Mission accomplished.
It’s like arguing with high school dropouts.
Yeah, They are just into pot shots. but, that happens here.
Many of them are cowards, will not use the same handle all the time.
Like being a Trump, supporter at one of his rallies?
erneba, quite the opposite. I really, really appriciate you and your fellow Trump supporters working so hard and standing by Donald no matter what, allowing the Democrats to walk into the White House in 2016. You guys splitting the GOP vote just makes things so much easier. Thank you so much! Happy Holidays!!!
How about you get a real disqus account, make the same statement, and stand by it even after November 2016?
Yeah, they can come in and be trolls with no accountability.
Because it didn’t make a difference when people with Disqus accounts did it in 2008 and 2012?
Problem you have is Obama has been exposed as a traitor. First it was destroying the health care system…then it was flooding the borders with illegals and now it is protecting ISIS and muslim terrorists.
10++++ Now that is a good response.
Well it’s about a subset of people who want to attack us who happen to be Muslim. It’s not like we have people from Indonesia attacking us, or muslim’s from Bosnia. That’s like saying the guy in Colorado speaks for all Baptists.
Come on, Rocky, enough about the PP shooter. He wasn’t attending any church and didn’t even have access to TV/internet for the last decade. You gotta stop comparing the two situations. Regardless, even if he were a faithful Baptist, he would not only be widely condemned by them, they would likely take him out themselves.
My point, you cannot, nay, should not, accuse all Muslims of being terrorists. It just begets more.
Nobody is. Just saying we don’t have proper vetting in place to distinguish at this point. It doesn’t beget more. They don’t need a reason to expand.
How are you going to vet folks. For example, suppose I knew someone who was coming here from India for two weeks, works for my employer, is a manager of a software team, and he’s Muslim. What do we do? How do you want to vet him? Is there a data analytics model that determines his threat level. Or do we have a magic “Terrorist” scanner and he walkd through it? Or maybe we just ask him? Or maybe we see if he’s carrying a Koran? I mean, two people out of 1.6 billion shoot up a Christmas party, one of whom was a US citizen, and we’re going to do what?
First of all, he’s from India. That’s the starting point. Then there will be a log of any places he has traveled and what associations he may or may not have had while on those travels. The SB shooters were being vetted and likely would have been stopped from entry had the State Dept not shut down the tracking program being used at the time due to the fact that it seemed to be “targeting Muslims”.
One was a legal resident alien the other a US citizen, they only traveled to Saudi Arabia. How was that going to “trigger” anything?
She received the visa based on her relationship with Farook. It was nothing more than a ploy. The program still would have stopped regardless.
They have taken the the debate for screening Muslims immigrants and trying to say that it applies to every Muslim, anywhere, and it does not. Just try to screen the new arrival at our borders.
You are coming across as an idiot, no one ever said that.
This debate on Muslims immigrants is not about race , nationality, geography, it about a culture and a religion that is intent upon killing us based on beliefs that can be traced back thousands of years.
Unless you want to qualify – it sure sounds like it.
Can you please stop with your personal attacks? Rocky has been very civil for the most part.
Idiot is not a personal attack. Calling my wife a fat assed wet-back is a personal attack. But he’s being quiet lately, and well behaved – probably got a stern talking to.
.At least she is ot a muslim fatt ass wetback as far as we know
Defamation. Law suit. Subpeana.
Nobody defends criminals better than Rocky. Its a family thing.
I think I hear sirens, your turn.
No one has accused all of them of being terrorists.
You do when you perform a blanket immigration denial on 1 billion people over a few thousand bad apples.
Again, your statemetn above doesn’t qualify it that way. If you’re saying special vetting based on country of origin, then we’re not banning Muslims, we’re vetting specific nationalities. I got no problem with that.
You’re just in total denial about the PP shooter. Why is it so hard to call him a Christian extremist that doesn’t represent the rest of the faith? That’s what you expect of Muslims every time a Muslim shoots up someone or bombs something.
Shows you how desperate they to draw some sort of equivalency with with violent Muslims.
An isolated, random act by one individual is equated to violence of Muslim extremists.
I don’t know why people are so intent upon defending them.
Opposing your political opposition surely creates some odd alliances.
That’s an absurd statement, not worthy of a response.
So you’re taking the position that all 1.6 billion Muslims are against us. Including the ones working on US software projects in India?
I really don’t know how you came up with that assumption.
You have appeared in the past to be smarter than that.
I’m just pointing out there’s no qualifications in your statement. If you’re saying based on country of origin, or prior travel destinations whilest enroute – then that’s a different dog altogether.
Later dude! Gotta run, but it’s been fun. Image, real debates without people talking about chucking feces and crapping themselves. So much nicer.
And trying to relate all this violence and murder committed by Muslim terrorist to Trump just ties it up in a neat bundle for you and those of your ilk. Hate the man, ignore the the cause of the murder and violence.
Trump did not create this problem, with his views on immigration, he is responding to what should be a national issue.,”What is the US going to do about this Muslim Immigration problem?
And by the way, I don’t support Trump in the Republican primaries, but I do appreciate that he has guts enough to bring up the issue and talk about it.
Go home erneba, you’re drunk.
And time for you to lay off the drugs.
More personal attacks, you people are not bright enough to debate the issue.
I love pissing off assholes like you.
More whining about personal attacks? Someone else has been calling you out on those for the past few days. You are such a hypocrite.
better living through chemistry, I always say :)
Is that what this is? I just thought it what everyday, normal low intelligence.
Something has to explain GrandTango levels of stupid, I’m just making an ass out of myself and assuming.
Your talking with erneba. Nobody will notice if you make an ass of yourself.
Carry on!
Jimmy used the B word for Iranian immigrants and deported students during hostage crisis??? GOOD MAN!
http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2015/12/now-theres-video-jimmy-carter-bans-iranian-immigrants-from-us-deported-students-during-hostage-crisis/
The USA is a violent country. We’re perfectly capable of tearing it apart from the inside out;no terrorists required.
Missy Trump stands about as much of a chance of beating Secretary Clinton as a drunken frat boy stands escaping my tender embrace.
It would be nice if the Media & Obama could at least get it right who ISIS really is!
It’s not a Sunni Extremist Group. It is a Wahhabi Extremist Group. The Sunni and Shiite Muslims are not Wahhabi’s. In fact: one of the few things they both agree on is that they both hate the Wahhabi Thieves that took over Saudi Arabia.
It’s the Wahhabi’s that created and fund ISIS and Al-Quada. Ben Laden was a Wahhabi. They must keep the turmoil going in the middle east. Pitting Sunni’s and Shiites in a civil war against each other, or the Sunni’s and Shiites will surely turn on them and destroy them.
Wahhabi use Saudi money to create brain washing schools masquerading as Mosques all over the world. Where they steal poor young people from the local real Mosques and turn them into little Wahhabi “Ditto Heads.” Willing to kill themselves for their crooked Wahhabi leaders. Who are Blasphemers that live the high life violating every part of the Koran.
So, if the USA wants to ban some Muslim Group. Let it be the Saudi Wahhabi Thieves and anyone that they have been in contact with in the past 5 years.
Interesting comment. Watched Anthony Bourdain last night traveling in Lebanon. So Beriut is back to a normal city more or less, with all these folks living together and the overriding fear they have – is ISIS. Assuming that the same is true in Amman, and we know it’s true in Tehran. How about we get these folks together and get them to go in there and take ISIS down.
Exactly this. I couldn’t agree more. Love Bourdain, too.
Love his books.
The ones where he bashes Rachel Ray and Sandra Lee? Yep, love, too.
Ha!
His first is my favorite. Kitchen Confidential is a must read for anyone who has ever worked in the restaurant world.
As long as there is an ISIS sympathizer occupying the White House and giving cover to the ideology of Islam nothing will get done.
Please go away. We’re having a real conversation.
I’m having real conversations too, most of them are going on with the voices in my head though. LMAO!!!!!!
What’s next, defending the Patriot Act with this PC excuse bullshit?
this is that dipshit in social studies class who kept bringing up ‘states rights’.
Mises says my ideas can’t be refuted using real world historical examples, nah-nah-nah-nah-nah-nah!
Making it more difficult to arrive here is about all we can do. Unless the government can create mind readers. Suppose we could hook everyone up to polygraph machines before they are allowed to enter. Snark.
Jesus, Republicans are defending internment now…
Where did you get that from?
Yeah, they are coming out of the wood work with their silliness.
Their imaginations are running wild.
How about spending 5 seconds on Google before you dismiss factual circumstances?
http://www.people.com/article/george-takei-donald-trump-allegiance-broadway-video
That article is about George Takei, nothing about Republicans supporting internment camps.
See FDR (democrat), see Jimmy Carter (democrat).
See Adolf Hitler. Three wrongs don’t make a right.
Leave Adolph Obama Hitler out of this.
Geesh!!!! Guess who’s not working the beat today!!!!
I’m never working any day. I live here after all. LMAO!!!!!!
did it taste like honey?
Your point?
Not that I care about the establishment Republicans, but the party has never historically done interments, though they should take a page out of the Democrats book to do so if necessary, for protection of the native population against infiltration of domestic threats. One would hope that it wouldn’t come to internment and the culture doing the infiltration would be forced to leave by decree so as to prevent native backlash.
And, what about the Muslims who are part of the “native population” and have been for generations? The ones that have served in the military defending your freedoms?
Mama, we already talked about this. It has nothing to do with current US residents who are Muslim or those serving in the military.
Please see this comment from Clarence:
“One would hope that it wouldn’t come to internment and the culture doing the infiltration would be forced to leave by decree so as to prevent native backlash.”
My bad, I still thought we were on the conversation we had yesterday. These threads get so ridiculously big that I can’t keep up with all the divergent trains of thought.
No worries, my friend.
This isn’t a Muslim country. They don’t defend my freedoms. They are responsible for taking them away. See patriot act.
Man, you lock up a couple million Japs and you hear about it forever.
Israel has a wall to keep out Islam. Saudi Arabia is building a wall to keep out their own Frankenstein they co-fund with Israel. Islam is incompatible with western/Christian civilization because we are infidels. In our post Christian civilization our cucked leaders are selling out the natives and their posterity with rape culture because of muh feelz of “human values.” They don’t respect our human values. Trump merely begs the question “why are these people here?” He is then demonized by the same (((media))) who would never question Israel, SA, japan, or china for their complete banning of any immigration from third world shit holes. Plenary powers doctrine is constitutional FYI.
I believe there are many Muslims in Israel. Close to 20% of their population.
Oops – restatement on my part.
Great wall. Because of their wall Christians in Bethleham – who used to be a majority – have left because the wall was a big pain in the ass. It still don’t keep ’em out. You do realize that 20% of the Israeli population is Muslim – right?
Israel isn’t a Christian country. That 20% is likely a population they use to safe harbor and recruit ISIS soldiers.
Again, when the PM of Israel thinks that your stance on Muslims is too extreme, you may want to re-evaluate.
Only 25% of Americans agree with Trump’s idea. More than half disagree.
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/poll-majority-of-us-disagrees-with-trumps-plan-to-ban-muslims/
Let him stay up top in the primary, he’s already under Hillary’s foot in the real world.
http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/trump-wont-blow-up-but-he-will-fade-away/article/2578128#.VmopN3WfVDg.facebook
An interesting take on Trump/polls.
Israel has a wall. They keep the Palestinians (Islam) in check. We should emulate their policies. He is a hypocrite for telling our country we need to take in the dregs. He is just following the narrative of the (((media))). Actions and players, not rhetoric, is what’s important.
Boy, just a few months ago Bibi was a hero to the far right. Now he’s a puppet of the main stream media? How quickly things change.
I never recall Bibi being a hero to the far right. They like his wall and his devotion to country but in terms of his influence on the United States foreign policy they are strongly opposed.

The far right, nor the right for that matter are represented by Republicans. You would know if you didn’t get your news from those rags. What do you think a cuckservative is? How any white person would vote democrat or establishment republican is beyond me. They are ao afraid of being called racist they will sell out their children’s and their own future an safety to degenerates.
What Trump calls “political correctness” is what most other people call basic human decency.
You’re not from the Tri-State region are you? Fugetaboutit!!!
MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN?
Most people think that the last time America was great was at the end of WWII. Maybe it was the moon landing or at the latest, the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The fact is that much of world has adopted American political and economic values and institutions. S. Korea, Japan, European Union. Even if USA GDP continues to grow, America’s percentage of world GDP will decline because less developed countries have more potential for growth. We will continue to compete with other nations that have adopted our values.
We can not dominate the world as we did after WWII or the Free world as we did during the Cold War when they depended on our nuclear deterrents.
We also can’t go it alone. The USA represents 4.5% of the world population. Almost everything we use or make that has any techical content is made in multiple countries. This is especially true of South Carolina. Boeing planes, BMW’s, GE turbines depend on other countries for parts. More importantly they depend on other countries for customers.
That is why Trump’s policy proposals are so dangerous. They offend allies and others who do or might cooperate with us against what is an international enemy. ISIS is not an American enemy. It is an enemy of all civilized nations and even not so civilized nations.
Why offend Turkey or the Kurds? There has been almost universal condemnation of Trump’s statements, even by our closest allies. This makes our efforts to lead an international effort against ISIS that much more difficult.
Who will govern the areas currently ruled by ISIS after they are gone? If it is not Mulims, then the area will continue to be a problem for the world.
If we peruse policies that ignore the interdependence of the USA both economically and security wise, we will irreparably harm both.
Amerikkka was never great, it is a paper tiger. Korea, Vietnam & the Middle East proved that it is only hot air. Amerikkkan values are evil & foul, emanating from the bowels of Hell.
— “Amerikkkan values are evil & foul, emanating from the bowels of Hell.”—
Unlike N.Korea, Vietnam, and the Middle-east.
Amerikkka was conceived through genocide of the indigenous cultures, prospered by the blood & muscles of African captives & matured on the train of international plundered. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAGilPiZLcc
Then why did you bless America so much?
I exist only for the idiots; I am a holographic illusion.
Whether appearing as an angel of light or a holograph, it’s pretty much the same. 2 Corinthians 11:15
Perhaps it is a test. “To whom much is given, much is expected.” So lets find out by sitting on our asses and doing nothing while thousands of refugees die of starvation and lack of clothing and shelter. I mean heck, how much more in your face god can you get than refusing to help starving refugees.
The most inexcusable is that they are drowning at sea.
Trump gets his marching orders from Israel. He has a son & daughter married to Jews.http://www.presstv.ir/Detail/2015/12/10/441180/US-Israel-Richard-Forer
Hysterical! You mean the same Israel that condemned his remarks on Wednesday?
Nettanyahoo is playing chess not checkers.
I can see it’s useless to comment on this thread.
you will not be missed.
As if I care.
Yes, it was invaded earlier by a group of trolls, everyone got their digs in and then it just ground down into nothing.
Good Lord! We let Liechtensteinians in unfrisked?!
“You have been warned, Mr. Donald Trump.”

Anonymous is: the Bush-Walker empire — entitled to one or more US presidencies in each generation. Ad nauseum.
MSNBC, you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy – we must be cautious.
