AGENCY RESPONDS TO OUR FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST

Two months ago this website published a pair of reports on a senior, county-level bureaucrat employed not once but twice by the S.C. Department of Social Services (SCDSS) – the second time despite “serious allegations” of impropriety being leveled against her.

In case you missed our reporting on this story back in September, click here and here.

The bureaucrat – Lois Richter – led the agency’s Charleston, S.C. office for a little over a year beginning in early 2014.  In June of this year she was hired to lead the agency’s Beaufort, S.C. office.

That decision has enraged several lawmakers familiar with the situation … including some who have been working to hold the agency accountable in the past.

In an effort to learn more about the allegations that reportedly ran Richter out of the Holy City, we submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to SCDSS.  That inquiry was sent last month, and earlier this month we received responses from the agency.

Did we get all the information we sought?  No.

To the agency’s credit, though, its administration responded professionally – within the time frame prescribed by law.  Most importantly, it cited which information it was authorized to release and which information it claimed it was legally prohibited from providing.  That’s a fair response – even more so considering this website has been slapping SCDSS around for the better part of the last four years.

Anyway, we’re in the process of reviewing the information provided by the agency with our attorneys.  Once that’s done, we’ll be sure to let you know what we uncovered about this “problem bureaucrat.”

“To the agency’s credit, though, its administration responded professionally”

It’s always nice to get a cordial “no” to a reasonable & lawful request I suppose.

It’s like getting a speeding ticket and then the officer telling you to “Have a nice day.”

:)

yeah they don’t really mean it cause shoving the ticket up their ass would be the start of having a nice day

“I’d rather them be rude.”

Me too. Insincerity is annoying as hell.

Amber Gillium is the problem bureaucrat in Columbia. She is a leftover from the Koller days.

The gynecologist raised his head after completing his examination. “I’m sorry,” he said, “but removing that vibrator is going to involve a very lengthy and delicate operation.”

“I’m not sure I can afford it,” sighed the lesbian on the examination table. “Why don’t you just replace the batteries?”

Odd, he has been on for a long time. I followed him, but he isn’t around anymore :( Hey, at least funny Henry is still around. How is Adorabella? Or is she now history?

shifty henry November 15, 2015 at 10:57 pm

Adorabella: I’ve been occupied with various matters for about 8 weeks, and have had only limited contact with her, such as greeting her in passing when she is outside. She never comes outside her house unless it is absolutely, absolutely necessary. Now on Friday I did ride with her out of town to pick up her granddaughter for the weekend. We had a good talk and I learned more about her life and her work. There is still a lot of mystery about her, though. She brought her two dogs with her, both of which love to ride, but I had to hold one them (60+ lbs) on my lap on the way up! It’s ok because when I first met her the dogs took to me right away (which is why she is comfortable with me). She’s not shy, but she is reclusive, and one reason is she is totally terrified of bugs! Her ex is now a multimillionaire cattle rancher but she barely gets by, which I have been curious about. I just learned that she got divorced many years ago when her son was about two years old. She then went to school and had a career as a court reporter and teacher. But she never remarried but I’ll pick up on that at a later time — no rush because she isn’t going anywhere. Her son is a good dude and he checks in with me occasionally . She’s a sharp dresser, cute, and a hot body. I just don’t want to get too close to her too soon. The other women I’m close to in the neighborhood have sharp eyes and will share info. It’s a little tricky keeping my tracks covered around these women, but I’ve been down that road before. This concludes my update (to be continued)….. and thanks for asking!

Something ain’t right

A person takes my tax dollars and is supposed to do work in my best interests

For whatever reason they are taken off the taxpayer’s payroll, however I, a taxpayer, can’t be told why, when, where or how because as an ex-employee they have rights

Bullshit

If someone takes a taxpayer funded job, i.e. public/state, federal government job, then anything and everything they do should be available to the public

If not, let the mother fucking son of a bitch Cockroach open their own hot dog stand, go to work for Goggle or open a whorehouse and fuck someone other than taxpayers
