DEADLY MYSTERY OVER THE SINAI PENINSULA …
A Russian Airbus A321 traveling from Egypt to St. Petersburg broke apart in mid-air over the Sinai Peninsula – killing all 224 people aboard (most of them Russian vacationers).
Terrorists affiliated with the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) claim to have shot the plane down – although it’s not immediately clear whether they had the technological capability of downing a jet liner cruising at more than 30,000 feet.
Both Russian and Egyptian authorities seem to think they did not …
However, Russia’s Kogalymavia (a.k.a. “Metrojet”) says it has ruled out mechanical problems and human error related to the downing of its plane – leaving open the distinct possibility of a terrorism attack.
“We absolutely exclude the technical failure of the plane, and we absolutely exclude pilot error or a human factor,” said Aleksandr Smirnov, a former pilot and the airline’s deputy.
Smirnov said the crash was caused by “an external impact on the plane.”
U.S. media quickly pointed out that Metrojet officials “used only assertive statements to support their position” and failed to “provide any documentation to back up their claim that both the plane and its personnel were in top flying condition.”
Meanwhile another mainstream American outlet recalled a 2001 accident in which the plane’s tail struck the runway causing “major damage,” adding that “post-accident repairs in the same section of the plane have caused at least two other midair breakups.”
So you can see where the American press is going with this story …
Other outlets painted the jet’s condition in a much better light.
“The crashed Russian airliner had passed all necessary tests when entering the Kogalymavia fleet; and the technical condition of the plane was good, the company’s top manager said Monday,” the website Sputnik reported. “The aircraft’s engines were inspected in Moscow on October 26; no problems were found. Moreover, there were no problems with the quality of fuel used by the Russian airliner.”
A more detailed assessment of metal fatigue was conducted on the plane last spring …
We’ll wait for more information before we start speculating as to what caused this crash … although one thing is not up for debate: The geopolitical tension associated with the ongoing investigation. ISIS claimed it shot the plane down due to Russia’s involvement in the Syrian conflict – where America recently stepped up its engagement.
Stay tuned …
UPDATE: Looks like terrorism …

It was shot down by ISIS, who’s creation can be traced back to GWBs pointless invation of Iraq. At least according to Tony Blair. He had to admit that after finding a memo in Hillary’s emails. At least the GOPs fake hearings turned up one smoking gun. ;-)
Surprised you couldn’t find a negative Boeing connection to this tragedy. If only it had been a N. Chas. made 787 huh Willie?
That Syria gig working out well for Putin – the guy named after French Canadian french fries.
“the guy named after French Canadian french fries.”
I’ll take “poutine” for $100, Alex.
I’ll take Le Tits Now for $200.
I thought FITS, RonPaul and Obama swore ISIS is a sweet and docile little gaggle of freedom-lovers who would NEVER hurt a flea.
Liberals and Liberal-Tarians are the stupidest some beeches on Earth…who are the most surprised when they look up and see the shadow of the bomb fin’ta fall on them…Ignorant Dumbasses….We cannot Flush Obama soon enough…
LMAO! LMAO!
Ron Paul didn’t push to fund the rebels which became/are ISIS. Thank the likes of John McCain snd Lindseypoo Graham for that little “gift” to the world. The US apparently has not learned our lesson from 1980 Afghanistan, when we armed, financed, and supplied, the likes of Osama Bin Laden in his fight agsinst the Soviets, only to have that weaponry and other resources turned against us, later on.
Hey, did you get your subpoena from Kenny’s lawyer yet? I gave them your new posting name after I got mine last Friday. No need to thank me.
Lol. You used “gaggle” twice in a 24 hour period.
He had a gaggle of geese shit on his tiny strip of lawn outside his mobile home & he used it for inspiration.
Don’t be mean to him or he’ll take his insightful posts to breitbart
Word is that the jet came apart emotionally when it heard it was going to be named in honor of Metrosexual men.
ISIS already released a video of it shooting down the plane.
Although I don’t think it’s been confirmed that’s the actual plane, instead of just a “production” piece(using other footage), which they’ve done before.
Sorta like Carly’s nasty video she claims to have seen.
How about a meteor(ite)???
Latest reports are it was due to a “physical impact” while at high altitude…………..
HIGHLY improbable but entirely within the realm of possibility………………
That or the “Global Hawk” UAV recon plane gone astray = collision…. “Global Hawk” does fly at high altitude………..
******Or just maybe… “Willie Coyote” finally got that giant slingshot sighted in……!!!!!***********
“Willie Coyote” – a “shit hot” engineer if there ever was one!!!!!!!
Or….
An Israeli UAV????
They’ve been using them for years and the Sinai is their back yard and occupied it till the Peace Accords under Jimmy Carter………..
Maybe one got off course and lost its signal===WOOPS!!!!!
More likely someone slipped a nice suitcase of explosives on it.
???
Maybe a guy named “Smirnov” isn’t the best source of technical knowledge on planes, just sayin’. Unless of course the planes are made in a vodka factory- which I could buy.
It’s karma….they shot down that jet last year over the Ukraine and now it is their turn. Russia sucks a big fat juicy one. What a hideous place it is.
Some of the women are grade A premium foxes though……………

You wish the US media took as much care in the run up to the neocon war against Iraq, among others.
