Yeah, Peaches got her one of them nice one-piece bathing suits and a nice trip to, what’s its called, Victoria Secrets. And we had dinner at that Benny Hanahana, or whatever it’s called, there in Wie-Kee-Key. Great fun……Oh sure, I’ll vote for that, would love to. Dinner tonight? Three Forks, sure. However, FITS is sadly mistaken about the Export-Import Bank. It does not matter now, anyway. Boehner is shoving that, and everything else, through today so all the rest of the worthless republicans can have their public tantrums about how it is such a bad process.
The Republicans control both houses of the congress, yet they still can’t take care of the country’s business. What a laughing stock that party has sunk to.
GE is a global company, that competes for projects and manufactures expensive components for infrastructure all across the world. Many of the entities that purchase what GE manufactures require the participation of a government sponsored Ex-Im Bank, and so by sucking up to the Koch brothers, you’re costing Americans jobs. Without the bank, GE will have to move production out of the US to foreign countries where they also do business. This as an example of corporate welfare is much ado about nothing. Killing it off serves as merely a rhetorical carcass to stuff, hang on the wall, for the Freedom Caucus to dance around the room in a circle jerk beating their chest claiming a body in their ideological war against common sense. It returns money to the Treasury!
I think it’s common sense to not tax everyone to preserve a few jobs for a very few number of corporations to be able to get loan guarantees. The money returned to the Treasury is done so under non-GAAP accounting.
That fallacy has been debunked by both Forbes & Cato.
The tax savings to eliminate the Ex-Im Bank are far less than what is gained by utilization of the Ex-Im Bank. Try as you might to build a fortress around America, it is impossible, the economy is global. To compete on projects outside of the U.S., companies are often required to utilize an Ex-Im Bank for those that purchase the products manufactured by the likes of GE, and others.
