STATE SENATOR ENDORSES ESTABLISHMENT “REPUBLICAN” FAVORITE
Outgoing S.C. Senator Paul Thurmond has endorsed the 2016 presidential bid of former Florida governor Jeb Bush.
Thurmond – who announced two months ago that he wouldn’t seek reelection in 2016 – is the son of legendary U.S. Senator Strom Thurmond. He has represented S.C. Senate District 41 – which includes parts of Charleston and Dorchester counties – for the past three years.
“I have met with almost every Presidential candidate, and I believe that Jeb Bush is best able to lead the country and best positioned to win the White House for conservatives,” Thurmond said this week. “Jeb has executive leadership, he has governed a purple state and because of his tireless work ethic, he enacted conservative reforms that would have been difficult to achieve even in other deep red states. I have confidence that when elected President Jeb’s action will match his rhetoric.”
Bush said he was “honored” to have Thurmond’s support.
Thurmond is the second outgoing S.C. Senator in as many days to endorse a presidential candidate – following liberal “Republican” S.C. Senator Ray Cleary, who endorsed the candidacy of Ohio governor John Kasich.

He would. One birthright POS politician endorsing another birthright POS politician.
Sic, you should have written: “Thurmond – who announced two months ago that he wouldn’t seek reelection in 2016 – is the son of legendary U.S. Senator and notorious racist hypocrite Strom Thurmond.”
And alcoholic Nancy Moore Thurmond.

Sounds to me like he’s about as intelligent as his old man.
I will have to say Ole Strom was pretty schrewd.
However, his son’s fit the stereotype of the slightly “teeched” old mans child.
