“Godfather Of Pork Terminal” A Rebuke Of Nikki Haley

THERE’S NO “TRIKKI NIKKI” TERMINAL COMING ANYTIME SOON … UNLESS IT’S IN GEORGIA

This week’s unanimous (and ill-conceived) decision by the S.C. State Ports Authority (SCSPA) board to name a proposed container terminal after powerful S.C. Senator Hugh Leatherman – a guy it needs to help secure funding for the facility – had a dual purpose, sources familiar with the decision tell FITS.

It wasn’t just a glorified bribe of the most powerful politician in the state, they say … it was also intended as a rebuke of governor Nikki Haley, whose “Savannah River Sellout” four years ago significantly eroded the Port of Charleston’s competitive position.

“They were sending the governor a message,” the source told us.

And multiple sources close to Haley say the message was not lost on her.  At all.

Haley’s top appointee to the SCSPA board – former lieutenant gubernatorial candidate Pat McKinney – will take over the leadership of the board in January 2016.  His upcoming ascension to the chairman’s position reportedly factored into the timing of the decision – which left Haley’s appointees in a box.

“They had no choice but to support it,” one source close to the vote told us.  “Nobody’s crossing the Godfather.”

Not while he’s alive anyway …

SC citizens sure do love to keep reelecting scumbags like Leatherman and Sanford. Hell, they kept Thurmond in there 20 years past his prime.

Fits, one of your projects, Catherine Templeton, must be involved/orchestrating this effort. She’s their top lobbyist now, correct?

The SC State Port Authority would be foolish to name anything of significance to recognize Nikki Haley after her shameless sellout of the Authority and citizens of South Carolina. I hope that FITS is correct when he states that the message was not lost on Haley. I propose that the dredging spoil site in Jasper County be renamed The Governor Nikki Haley Dump.

Too Funny — Imagine all the ‘extra’ big truck traffic (aside from added rail systems) as a result of this new terminal being crammed on a mere 3 lanes of bumper to bumper I-26 traffic in the Charleston area.
