Our founding editor Will Folks was headed to the gym one morning this week when he passed a gas station and decided to fire off a snippy message to the FITS staff.
“Clearly been awhile since we’ve done a gas price update,” he texted. “Somebody please do one.”
Our response?
Cleary been awhile since you’ve been to the gym.
Anyway, it has been awhile since we did a gas price update, so here goes …
According to the latest data from Gas Buddy, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in South Carolina currently stands at $1.95. That’s roughly thirty-five cents below the current national average – and twenty-four cents lower than it was just two months ago.
In some areas of the Palmetto State, prices were as low as $1.71 per gallon.
We’ll be watching fuel prices much more closely as yet another major push is currently underway to raise South Carolina’s gas tax – a move this website has consistently opposed.

In the meantime: What are you paying for gas in your neck of the woods? Post your experiences in our always lively comments section below …

Obama told Romney when gas prices are low the economy is bad. He was right.
You’ve done it again. You’ve created a conditioned response (Pavol’s dog) I was expecting a pretty girl at the pump. Now the pumps elicit the same response as a pretty girl.
LOL. Will have to remember that next time :)
Thanks for your boner update friend. I won’t waste the “TMI” admonition.
Thank you Obama! Now please raise taxes on gas! LMAO!!!!!!
Great job again by the President. Queue TG’s head implosion and threats of fecel throwing to dispute this in five, four, three, two……..
