PERPETUAL WAR IS HERE …
Last month we ran an item on the ongoing American military operation in Afghanistan – which our taxpayers have been subsidizing since 2001.
In that post, we noted that the administration of Barack Obama was considering calling a halt to the U.S. troop drawdown and leaving a force of approximately 10,000 American soldiers in Afghanistan in perpetuity.
Today that happened …
“While America’s combat mission in Afghanistan may be over, our commitment to Afghanistan and its people endures,” Obama said this week. “I will not allow Afghanistan to be used as safe haven for terrorists to attack our nation again.”
Really?
Last time we checked it wasn’t Afghanistan that was the “safe haven.” But whatever. Obama doesn’t want to pick a fight with our “partners in peace.”
In addition to remaining in Afghanistan, Obama recently announced a new U.S. military intervention in Cameroon – along with our ongoing escalation of the proxy war in Syria.
Can taxpayers afford any of this? Of course not …
But perpetual war doesn’t care about taxpayers … it cares only about feeding the military-industrial complex.

remind me fits, what happened the last time we left afghanistan to the taliban? While we are on the subject how many troops were their under bush? just one more question to open up on your myopic little rant, what will it cost us in the long run if the taliban destabilizes pakistan?
What is it that Pakistan has that Islamic extremists would love to get their hands on? Nuclear weapons. Folks never can see the forest for the trees. So best to keep the extremists busy in Afghanistan.
Pretty sure India has that on lock down. The US has used lots of bribe dollars and the threat of letting India do whatever they want to gain Pakistani allegiance.
Punjab Allah Makamar Shiki-wiki. You have to ask yourself – what would Hin do.
Biden in the background thinking, “I’ve got to run on this record.”
You give way too much credit to ol’ “stand up and let em’ see ya” Biden.
Are you speaking of this Joe Biden? —
“Biden said he has it on good word from a second source, whom he describes as “credible, but not extremely credible,” that large crates of peanuts were seen being transported into the Trump home. “I’m
not saying the elephant is there,” Biden commented while doing a handstand for reporters during a briefing on Capitol Hill Thursday. “They could
be making peanut butter. But it’s very suspicious.”
Bush sent millions to the Taliban in the months before 9/11. Nice!
What? Dubya was only in office seven months. I think you are talking about Clinton. The Taliban was in power. They weren’t fighting the Russians then. Get your history straight.
You can send millions in seven MINUTES (or less) these days – come out of the dark ages!Dubya was only in office seven months on 9/11. ”

NOPE! Bush was in office and sent checks to the taliban! How much you wanna bet?
The Nation and Vetvoice have withdrawn their acticles on the subject the DailyKos has change the title of this article linked here.
UPDATE: I’ve changed the title. The original title, “Bush Gave Taliban $43 Million Four Months before 9/11”, was causing the discussion to focus on a single example–and not on the idea I was trying to get across.
Found this from before 9/11.

Then by 2007 Opium poppy production was at an all time record high under Bush and US military control. More than 90% now comes form there! Hmmmmm? You don’t think it get’s smuggled by US personal do you?!
When you have an idiot – with no moral clarity- as president, you get Ron Paul and Obama national defense.
No wonder it’s such a mess. I wish we had Bush back. Obama is proving him right, after the media convinced the Dumbasses Bush was wrong.
LOLOLOLOLOLBWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA yeah right!
Yeah, Bush was a real winner. 12% unemployment, $4 gas, 45% loss to 401Ks. Can we have him back please? Arm ’em, farm ’em, and buy the opium from whomever wins.
Rocky is right. Bush was absolutely terrible. Obama has done a great job so far making our country great again. Hopefully the Republicans won’t fuck it up again.
Jeb’s goal. Do twice what my brother did, in half the time.
Jeb’s goal right now is to make it to the first primary.
“When you have an idiot – with no moral clarity- as president”
As you’re apt to remind us, Bush isn’t president anymore, so we should stop blaming him.
Exactly. What I have been saying for seven years now.
Unlike his father, Obama was pulling out too early.
Pulling out early is harder when the rope is long.
Usually people are given enough roper to hang themselves. He was given enough rope to hang an entire country.
Little boys that don’t want to be raped are now “rebels” that Afghani Officers need our help in squashing?
Buck Farack
Fuckin’ Cockroach
?
Obama is more of a Republican than a Democrat.
In all the time that we have had soldiers tramping through Afghanistan has anyone heard of Heroin being near extinction as a result of US occupation and our “war on Drugs” policies? No, we have been there and heroin is at highest levels in years in the US. Ever wonder if we are guarding the crop and controlling the profits? What a waste of our soldier’s lives in order to protect and participate in a drug cartel. Same with Columbia, our presence only increased trafficking.
Shall we ask Fox News contributor and CIA expert Wayne Simmons his opinion. LMAO His con artist has been on Fox since 2004 and entangled with rightwing online media.
Wayne Simmons has been arrested after a federal grand jury indicted him on “charges of major fraud against the United States, wire fraud, and making false statements to the government,” including allegedly falsely claiming he worked for the CIA. Simmons was a frequent and favorite guest on Fox News, and was one of the conservative media’s purported experts on the 2012 Benghazi attacks. Simmons joined several prominent conservative activists and media figures in calling for the House to convene a Benghazi Select Committee.
You mean someone in the Obummer administration actually looked past the sound bite ? Maybe they saw what a mess they made out of Iraq and thought better of it. NAW–not that bunch.
Bama is a fool. And a puppet of the Zionist cabal.
