I suspect both sudden resignations were due to his desire to go out on his own terms at a time of his choosing. I imagine he is “comfortable enough” financially to do so, and that is why he pulled the plug instead of having it pulled on him.

Fact is if he has a higher winning % as the head coach against Clemson, every Clemson fan that claims they own Carolina (with a lower winning percentage) has no choice but to admit he owned them by their own argument.
