However, I hope the GOP Conference elects one of them as Speaker, and the 25 House Members holding actual Republicans (as opposed to RINO Libertarians) and the nation hostage ram through their proposal, and either it is summarily rejected in The House, or repudiated by voters. The nation does *not* support the radical RINO Libertarian agenda, tin-foil hats and all.
The concept of a “gut check” presumes the existence of guts. Guts are the hen’s teeth of Capitol Hill.

That would be the pro-freedom, pro free-market, unable to govern right wing radical extremist Freedom Caucus (Do they still eat Freedom Fries? Yes, but only if they were grown and purchased in free markets). How about doing a gut AND head check and try to remember why you were sent to Washington. Hint: it wasn’t to throw tantrums when you don’t get your way, put the US credit rating at risk, or be actors in political kabuki so you can get reelected. It wasn’t to stall any progress on anything so you can tell your constituents that “you’re fighting the Washington establishment to stop business as usual politics”. Even Reagan (remember him? I know for some he’s a RINO and you’re a true Republican) said he would take the 80% deal any time.
