The republicans have done a great job representing the majority of US citizens.
Just because they are ignoring the old bigots doesn’t mean the ‘Republic wil die…’, drama queen.
Ryan would be a fool to take this. First of all, he’d get nothing accomplished. Sure Kenny Powers and his gang would say they’ll follow him, and that would last about 4 minutes. Then he’d be Speaker for the soon-to-be-famous Christmas Shutdown, he’d be blamed for failure to pass TPP, the right would go off on him when he funded PP, and to top it all off, when the GOP lost 8 to 10 seats in the House in 2016 – it would be all his fault. Nah – I’d pass.

You still haven’t understood that this is just the beginning of a fundamental transformation of America. The GOP will not survive this kind of attacks from the right wing. the right wing anarchists are not strong enough to win on their own – their only strategy is to make life miserable for the majority of people ( I.e. government shutdown, export-import bank, defunding attempts) and pray they don’t connect the dots.
Most people see through this smoke screen and the 2016 elections will continue to support a progressive agenda for this country. In the mean time the colateraral damage for the GOP is mounting and many will join the progressive secular forces in this country.
