Ever since 1935 all the Presidents and all in Congress have known that in time, a Ponzi scheme will crumble.

My generation is the lost generation of american politics. We live in a time where politics are dominated by people with 1 foot in the grave, the rest are corporate shills who dont actually care about their constituents, especially the ones under 50s. salaries havent kept up with inflation, there arent any jobs and everyone has 100k of student loan debt. those of us with jobs are paying ridiculous taxes for SSA services that we will never receive. we were young enough to fully be able to understand and use the internet, and now the greatest tool of our time is being taken away by elderly people who dont understand it. the national debt lies firmly on our shoulders thanks to “the greatest generation” and the baby boomers for not caring about the future and only of themselves.
so just consider that when you start to wonder why nobody our age seems to respect their elders
American youth has had it easy growing up. Microwave ovens, cell phones, plentiful cheap gas…….the list goes on. But the low-hanging fruit of America’s past is gone. As each new year comes and goes, the struggles to survive will only increase. When Mom and Dad are dead, and they’re out of work, and the belly’s grumbling and the kid’s crying, they’ll get creative.
It’s what generations of people have done for centuries. You either toughen up, get your ass to work, or you die.
I’m just glad I won’t be around to see the sorry state that our world is going to be in in another hundred years or so.
And most 18-29 year olds still live with their parents. Got to give em Obamacare on mommy and daddy’s insurance.The next logical step for welfare recipients (being provided for by mommy and daddy) is to advocate socialism so they can move out of the house and still have their welfare at the expense of more than just a few people. Your better off screwing people through others rather than picking up the gun yourself and pointing it at people to get what you want. That is what the government is there for!
You’re right. Give up your Medicare now. Social Security too. You get it back when your payments equal the cost of a paid up 16.7 years annuity that would pay out the same amount of SS each month, counting adjustments for CPI.. After that, you’re on your own baby. Nothing for your spouse (or minor children if you had them) when you croak; no spousal bennies based on your work. no disability insurance, just pure annuity, just like the “free market”. Happy now?

Aging demographics are not unique to the United States, they are global. Birth rates are down in advanced economies, emerging markets, you name it. So, immigration will not be a long-term solution as slower population growth
is expected worldwide over the coming decades. Consider the following
chart from the U.S. Census Bureau’s International Data Base, which
projects that the global population will continue flattening for the

So unless the intention is to import senior citizens from other countries, I’d suggest we rethink the demographic issue. If the model holds up linking the working age population to economic growth, the only solution to our longer term challenges may be through sustained population growth. Americans and everyone else need to start having more kids, establishing new businesses, and creating new jobs, and so does the rest of the world. I add the caveat another baby boom would not be without consequence, either, as the last one appears to have fueled the Great Inflation of the 1960s and 1970s.
