CATEGORY FOUR MONSTER LOOMS OFF EAST COAST …
Hurricane Joaquin has turned into a category four monster – packing maximum sustained winds of 130 miles per hour.
That’s the bad news. The good news? If the current forecast tracks hold, Joaquin will miss the coast of South Carolina completely. Take a look …
Errr … wait a minute. Sorry. That’s the wrong forecast track. Here’s the right one, courtesy of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) …
There we go …
Better news? While that forecast track looks bad for New England, Joaquin is expected to lose most of its punch over the next few days – weakening to a tropical storm by the time in threatens landfall.
Of course that doesn’t mean Joaquin isn’t going to cause trouble. Torrential rains could cause major flooding, and South Carolina has already been inundated with rainfall over the last two weeks.
Anyway, let’s hope the meteorologists are right and this monster stays offshore …

You’ll never make it in the news biz kid! You didn’t cover buying up provisions (canned food, potable water, etc.), checking your generator, or evacuation routes. Hell, you didn’t even *mention* plywood or duct tape! In what way are you trying to play to Joe Sixpack’s natural tendency toward drama and panic?! You’ll never make the MSM at this rate…
You’re right! Didn’t even mention stocking up on Twinkies.

Joaquin is a spainish form of a male name which finds its origin in Hebrew and literally means “lifted by Yahweh”.
Joaquin appears to be headed to NYC, where they know how to pronounce it.
