GOP LOOKS TO SHAKE UP PRIMARY PROCESS

|| By FITSNEWS || The national “Republican” party is threatening to pull South Carolina’s “First in the South” presidential status – which the Palmetto State has enjoyed since 1980.

In fact since 1980, South Carolina’s GOP electorate has picked the eventual “Republican” nominee all but once – in 2012.

The party could be coming to an end, though … sooner rather than later.

According to Reince Priebus, chairman of the “Republican” National Committee, early-voting states had better not get “too comfortable” with their status after the 2016 election cycle.

“If you look at my history, I’ve been very supportive of the early states,” Preibus told National Journal this week. “But I don’t think anyone should get too comfortable.”

Priebus added that “I don’t think there should ever be any sacred cows as to the primary process or the order,” meaning the early-voting status of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada may not last beyond 2016.

Sources familiar with the process tell FITS the comments should be taken very, very seriously.

“Iowa almost lost their caucus this time around,” one told us.

Priebus says the party is considering a random lottery process for selecting primary dates, as well as “rotating quadrant” formula.

Obviously neither of those methods would result in South Carolina keeping its position on the primary calendar.

GOP looks to rape SC as long as there is no accountability.

1. It would be stupid to change the primaries if the Democrats are not also willing to change also.

2. The State pays for primaries, not the parties.

3. The State is not going to pay poll workers for two different primary dates.

4. If South Carolina loses first in the South primary status, then FitsNews loses hundreds of thousands of web visitors.

5. If FitsNews loses visits, he loses money.

6. National media will no longer ask for Will Folks bloviation flatulation on the contest.

The Media won’t allow it to be changed. They would miss our dirty down in the sewer, potty mouth politics. It generates ratings. They are already trying to bring back Jake Knotts.

The Buzzman September 30, 2015 at 5:54 pm

Notional media does not give a shit about Jake Knotts. They are clueless about what really goes on in SC. If they really cared about it, their “reporters” and “talking heads” would be falling all over themselves to tell everyone why Nikki Haley would be a disaster on the national ticket for any candidate who chose her for a running mate.

The information about her terrible reign and highly questionable past, all her treachery and sell-outs, is readily available. Right now, they are back to taking her seriously, mainly because of her relentless self-promotion as a historic “double-minority” SC governor, and her attention-getting turn-around on the flag issue.

No that won’t start until she chosen to be on the ticket.
The same with Biden. Lay low or encourage him to run, then punch when he announces. But Haley can weather the storm. Show me a Haley critic who is a sucess. Certainly not Will.

Just curious, what do we not know about Biden that we haven’t heard about since 1988?
I don’t know. I don’t know that voters from outside SC would be very impressed with a candidate like Nikki who never paid a county, state or federal tax on time without liens for prodding (until she ran for governor) and who did not send in employee withholding taxes; maybe SC voters don’t know about employers shorting employees that way or just don’t care. Of course, I guess it was mostly in the family.
Nikki can threaten other SC politicians that she will tell what she know about them into shutting down investigations of her corruption. But, I don’t know how being an unregistered paid lobbyist while a sitting legislator will fly outside of SC. The pass she got on that just may be because it’s beyond the grasp of the average SCGOP voter.

You don’t know nothin’ ’bout politics. None of that matters. Put Haley in front of a camera or a crowd and it’s pure success. It’s not the emails that hurt Hillary. It’s her weak response.

National Exposure September 30, 2015 at 6:11 pm

Since moving away from SC and the southeast a few years the only time I’ve heard a peep about SC is the racist murders in Charleston and the flag coming down. That’s it. The only thing people ask me about SC is “Is it really that racist there?”.

Not criticizing SC or the people. It’s more a comment on how the media portrays the state and the ignorance that many people have about SC.

Bible Thumper September 30, 2015 at 7:51 pm

The peaceful, nonviolent reaction as well as the racist killing and almost unanimous votes in the legislature to take down the flag is what I hear from out-of-state people. The end of the “NCAA” – NAACP boycott is also mentioned. They are often confused about where the flag was flying and its move from the dome.
People often respond to others based on their perceived reception by the hearer. They perceive hate from “National Exposure” so that is their response. If you put out a positive attitude (body language), you would get positive responses.

I’ve come to the conclusion that since all of the national political press live in or around NYC and DC in basically Blue states (the Washington Post is very belatedly picking up on the GOP craziness in VA), they simply do not pay attention to what any Red state governor is doing because they think they are just like the Blue state governors they know.( I hate to include Andrew Cuomo in that bunch because he is obviously as corrupt as Chris Christie. But, he’s not as overt a bully.)
They are clueless that every Red state governor is as extreme as the ‘freedom caucus’ in the House and as corrupt and/or inept as the day is long…because they are almost all like SC – one party rule that allows anything as long as the voters hear what they want to hear.

Having smaller states first serves a good purpose……thinning the herd.

You don’t want a candidate to take a large block of electoral vote very early and then have them crater months before the general election.

Reply
Trump 2016 September 30, 2015 at 7:00 pm

This is an attack on Trump. Trump is winning in the early states. They RNC is afraid if he sweeps SC, Iowa, and New Hampshire, he will be unstoppable. Look for them to try push those states out. If Trump was losing in those states you can bet this would not be happening.

But should SC buckle? Why would we? The RNC cannot tell us when to hold our primary.

But the RNC & DNC can strip delegates from a state at the Nominating Convention. This happened to Florida when they scheduled the primary earlier than scheduled by the national parties.

All any rational person – that may include Priebus (at times) since he presided over the ‘autopsy’ to tell these people where they had gone wrong in 2012 – who looks at who SC and IA send to Congress has to know that allowing these 2 crazy states to be anointing any party’s nominees is insanity.

Also, this country cannot survive many more 18 month – 2 year long presidential campaigns. And, the rush to be first here, there and yonder drives that.
Ideally, no debates until after 1-1-16. The first of regional primaries should not be more than 6 months prior to the 11-16 election in 4-16; if they’re regionally organized, they can go off bam-bam-bam. Then, the conventions in 8 or 9-16.
The only people benefitting from the current ‘system’ are political consultants and TV stations selling ads while it destroys the country.

The reason SC has held the first in the South primary is we have been right every time till 2012.( We were right in 2012 but every one else was wrong.) I fully expect to see SC challenged by the Super Tuesday crowd that wants to have several Southern states have a primary the same day. SC makes like $60,000,000 off these politicians coming to the state. Not a small number. That money benefits, hospitality, tourism, media, plus all the hangerson that come and go with the various campaigns. The loss would be a big hit financially for the state. As well as a status down grade .

For those of you in need of a a more direct translation of Reince Priebus and the RNC’s statement, they are saying that they remember that you voted for Gingrich over the preferred candidate, Romney last time and if you tea party rubes vote for Trump or Cruz and fail to support Jeb!, then you will lose your first in the south status.
