2016 LONGSHOT WEIGHS IN ON LOOMING PLANNED PARENTHOOD FIGHT
|| By FITSNEWS || As another government “shutdown” looms, liberal U.S. Speaker of the House John Boehner got some advice from another left-of-center “Republican” this week – former New York governor George Pataki.
As if he needed it …
The longshot 2016 presidential candidate told Boehner that “Republicans” in Congress should “reject the failed approach of shutting down the government” in response to the Planned Parenthood fetal body parts scandal.
“The world is on the brink of chaos,” Pataki wrote. “Failed nation states, millions of displaced refugees flooding Europe, radical Islam expanding its powers and Iran, the number one state sponsor of terror, on the brink of an economic and diplomatic windfall. Our government needs to be functioning to protect our security and grow our limping economy. A shutdown is simply intolerable.”
Really?
Last time we checked a government “shutdown” actually shut down precious little: Less than seventeen percent of the government, to be precise.
And far from providing “security,” our government’s geopolitical meddling was making us less safe. So even if our interventionist foreign policies were being shut down (which they aren’t), Pataki’s argument still wouldn’t hold up.
Oh, and don’t get us started on the whole “government needs to grow our limping economy” nonsense. Government spending cannot grow the economy, it can only constrain it.
And it’s done a pretty job of doing just that …
We support defunding Planned Parenthood. And we don’t care if government is “shut down” to accomplish that objective.
Of course as we wrote earlier this week, the latest shutdown drama is “all theater.”

Pataki is an abortion lover that supports perverted marriage. Next.
Wait until they see the CNN Poll TODAY.
Carson 51%- Clinton 45%
Bush 49%-Clinton 47%
Trump 49%-Clinton 47%
He supports our marriage? He sounds like a good guy to me.

Clinton’s ahead of all three!
Try and keep up. The last 2 polls in past 10 days have Clinton behind.
So you’re ignoring the polls you don’t like? Okay.
Why are quoting ‘polls’? The actual election is over a year away. They are meaningless now.
Going back to the shutdown well again? This is the ONLY ‘accomplishment’ of the GOP in six freakin years.
They got really good at failing to repeal Obamacare. And second runner up is holding useless committee investigations on Benghazi.
I want success, not moral high ground. Has there ever been a government shutdown that has succeeded in its purpose? Are the Republicans leading us to success or another damaging defeat that will only hurt the cause of the unborn?
Does a government shutdown strengthen or weaken support for the pro-life possition?
Republicans don’t care how weak, dysfunctional and totally insane they make this country look to the world if they think it might help them in some election.
