EVERY OTHER PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE? THEY GOT IT 100 PERCENT WRONG …
|| By FITSNEWS || Like U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, former Virginia governor Jim Gilmore is on the fringes of the 2016 presidential race.
Unlike Graham, though, Gilmore hasn’t been trying. At all. In fact he hasn’t held any campaign events since announcing his candidacy on July 30.
(Yup, check your calendars).
Gilmore attended an event in Washington, D.C. this week, though – decrying the failed effort of “Republicans” in the U.S. Senate to block U.S. president Barack Obama‘s nuclear weapons “deal” with Iran.
Wait … hold up.
How did the GOP fail? Doesn’t it control the U.S. Senate? And doesn’t Obama need two-thirds of the U.S. Senate to vote in favor of his deal?
Um, no … not thanks to U.S. Senator Bob Corker.
As Robert Romano of Americans for Limited Government first pointed out months ago, a bill sponsored by Corker passed the House and Senate back in April which totally flipped the script for Obama – requiring a super-majority of Congress to stop the treaty.
Again … what was the point of electing “Republicans” again?
Yeah …
Anyway, according to Gilmore, the Corker bill is what “put us into this.” And he’s 100 percent correct.
Look: We’ve never bought into the scaremongering over Iran – whether it’s coming from crazy, liberal Republicans or our socialist/ fascist president. Furthermore, we don’t give a damn about Israel – a nation which continues to bark orders at the United States while remaining dependent upon American taxpayers (who don’t have the money to subsidize its wars of aggression).
But the Iran vote isn’t really about the substance of this agreement – or “protecting our allies (a.k.a. Israel)” – it’s about the integrity of the process.
Thanks to Corker’s legislation – which was supported by GOP presidential candidates Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Rand Paul (in addition to Graham) – Obama’s Iran deal went from “not a snowball’s chance in hell” to “not a snowball’s chance in hell of being stopped.”
Da fuq, right?
In fact this latest smoke and mirrors nonsense feeds into the broader trend of Congressional “Republicans” being little bitches – needlessly (and dangerously) ceding their rightful responsibilities to an overreaching executive branch and an increasingly left-leaning judicial branch.

Bob Corker probably gets the ignorant hillbilly vote by saying he loves homeschooling and hates abortion. People, Conservatism and Religious Nuttery don’t necessarily go hand in hand. That’s how we get a Senator like Graham.
