LET A NEW “WAR ON DRUGS” BEGIN!

|| By FITSNEWS || According to a new study published in Pediatrics magazine (a publication which literally flies off the shelves, we’re told), 27 percent of teenagers in Connecticut who smoke pot and use electronic cigarettes have … wait for it … used their vaporizers to smoke marijuana.

Really?  Only 27 percent?

Kids really are dumber than we thought these days …

Anyway, cue “war on drugs” apoplexy …

From USA Today:

Marijuana use in other forms can cause several health problems such as short-term memory loss, slow learning, decreased sperm count and lung damage, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“We now know it’s happening, but there are more questions about who is using and how damaging it is,” Morean said.

E-cigarette use among youth increased more than 200 percent from 2011 to 2013, according to a report in the journal Nicotine and Tobacco Research. Those surveyed had not tried regular cigarettes.

Well, well …

“These findings raise concerns about the lack of e-cigarette regulations and the potential use of e-cigarettes for purposes other than vaping nicotine,” the study’s authors noted.

Really?  Is that so?  Didn’t we once have a president who used cigars for something other than their intended purpose?

Don’t say we didn’t warn you this was going to happen, though …

This website has long supported vapor cigarettes … and consistently opposed efforts to subject them to unnecessary regulation and taxation.  If you ask us (and you’re reading this, so you did), this is just another excuse to senselessly expand the federal government’s failed “War on Drugs.”

Not to mention demonize vaping itself …

Is life really so bad for you that you have to go find places to criticize others. this type behavior is generally a sign of low self esteem. Cannabis is the safest mind altering substance on the planet. Not a single overdose death and all medical history. If people are going to use a substance don’t you think it would be better if they use a safe one? Alcohol, tobacco, prescription drugs KILL over 650,000 people per year in the United States alone. Cannabis kills 0, not one person. Stop the lies and legalize!

Cannabis causes low sperm count. Cannabis causes brain to swell. Cannabis causes brain to shrink. Cannabis growers cause drought! Cannabis causes homelessness! Cannabis causes ingrown toenails! Cannabis causes dogs and cats to sleep together (it’s TRUE, I’ve seen it!)

Cannabis is still much safer than alcohol, tobacco and pharmaceutical drugs which kill over 650,000 US citizens annually.

Next: He advocates for our children to get fucked up to the point they have no initiative to get a job, and he wants them to live in an America that is not decent and enlightened.

Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper (D) said on Friday that his state’s decision to legalize marijuana was a “bad idea” and that he wishes he could go back in time and reverse the 2012 ballot initiative. In that referendum, Coloradans voted 55 to 45 percent to legalize marijuana despite Hickenlooper’s strong and outspoken stance against it.
Florida rejected it in 2014 and Ohio will do the same this November. Same groups that pushed for perverted marriage are the same ones pushing for making it easier children to get addicted to drugs.

What a load of reefer madness nonsense. If you are really interested in protecting kids FIRST keep them away from booze, tobacco and prescription drugs. Data direct from CDC dot gov show that no one has ever died from a marijuana overdose in all recorded medical history, while serial killers tobacco, alcohol and prescription drugs directly cause over 650,000 deaths per year every single year in the USA.
Nothing complicated or hard to understand about these statistics cited directly from CDC dot gov. on numbers of deaths per year in the USA

* Prescription Drugs: 237,485 + 5000 traffic fatalities
* Tobacco: 390,323
* Alcohol: 88,013 + 16,000 traffic fatalities
* Cocaine: 4,906
* Heroin: 3,365
* Aspirin: 466
* Acetaminophen (Tylenol): 179
* Marijuana: 0, none, not a single fatal overdose in all medical history and almost no traffic problems

So, which is safer?

Yeah – marijuana made Colorado the great place it is… Oh wait, not so much, the demographics haven’t changed that much – except they have:

Emergency room visits are way up:

Homeless (already a problem) is way up:

The majority of DUI arrests are now for THC intoxication:

But other than those things (and a myriad other problems) Colorado is doing much better than South Carolina…

That’s nice and all, but I actually live here. I actually work here and converse with people here. Yes, more and more people are relocating here. Especially from our economically depressed neighbors to the east. I can provide links to news sources here in CO contridict every link you provided. So let’s return to my original question: Let’s compare CO to SC when it comes to education, economy, health, wages, tax revenue, overall well-being. I not saying all of that is thanks to legalized cannabis, but it hasn’t hurt one bit. We’ve had one of the best summer tourist seasons in a decade. More employers are hiring all the time. Crime has not increased and actually violent crime in down in many places. Colorado is going to great either way, it’s an awe inspiring place. Ending prohibition and allowing more freedoms has only made CO even more awe inspiring. Have you been here?

But pot has nothing to do with any of those factors, they’ve been true forever.

Nick September 8, 2015 at 6:02 pm

Forever? Not quite. Did you actually read the the articles you linked to?
Totally irrelevant to the whole of Colorado TODAY.
Problems out west can be attributed to poverty, unemployment, boredom and meth.
Come visit the Front Range where most of Colorado resides.
You would not be able to tell the difference between now and before legalization.
Once again, why all the hate for something you know nothing about and has zero negative effect on you? If you cared about freedom and personal liberty and responsibility you’d be for another state deciding by popular vote to legalize a plant. This is a republican/libertarian website, isn’t it?

The Colonel September 8, 2015 at 6:04 pm

I’m talking the perceived advantages the Colorado had over South Carolina in terms of quality of life and economics.

Nick September 8, 2015 at 6:11 pm

I’m talking about Colorado now, as someone who lives, works, pays taxes (which have been greatly helped by recreational cannabis sales…have a surplus this year) and actually experiencing a place with legal cannabis. You are ‘perceiving’ things through irrelevant articles you read on the Internet from 1700 miles away.

I’ll try once again, what’s your problem with the citizens of another state voting to end prohibition for adults? Are you a freedom loving republican or are you one of those fascist colonels?

The Colonel September 8, 2015 at 6:13 pm

I’m one of those freedom defending colonels who has fought for your right to make stupid decisions. Pot has not been the panacea you claim regardless of how strongly you claim it.

Nick September 8, 2015 at 6:18 pm

Very weak, colonel.
I’m just claiming ending the prohibition of cannabis has not had a negative effect on Colorado. You are trying to force your ignorant views on other adults. On something that has no effect on you whatsoever. That’s what liberals do. You have done nada for my rights, you are trying to limit my freedoms. Are you even a ‘real’ colonel?

The Colonel September 8, 2015 at 6:22 pm

Dude, I haven’t tried to limit your anything. Feel free to try to refute any link I posted even with material from “High Times” which is about the quality of reporting you’ll need to refute my sources. I’m not trying to force my “ignorant” anything on you or anyone else, just accurately pointing out the accurate alternative facts. Smoke your brains out, I couldn’t care less.

Nick September 8, 2015 at 6:29 pm

No are not accurate at all. Typical liberal mindset.
“I know what’s best for people I don’t know, because of what I read Somewhere.”
I’m putting out verifiable facts from personal experience in the topic you are trying to act like an ‘internet expert’ on. It’s weird that a ‘Colonel’ (yeah, right!) would be so anti-freedom and so pro-government control. Oh well, I read on the internet that all confederate flag supporters are racists. Must be true. (Not saying you are or anything)

The Colonel September 8, 2015 at 7:53 pm

All to real of a colonel – most of us advocate for personal responsibility above all else. I’m not a “Confederate flag supporter” I advocated it coming down.

“..Are you a freedom loving republican or are you one of those fascist ….No are not accurate at all. Typical liberal mindset…”

First I was a republican, then a fascist now I’m a liberal?

I keep reading you talking about “facts”. I provided three independent and verifiable sources for my assertions – all are easily refutable if they’re false. You keep saying they are but you provide no evidence, talk’s cheap. I even offered to accept “High Times” as a source.

As for your freedoms, please feel free to smoke dope until you are stupid(er). For the record I have also advocated for legalization and huge regressive taxation. What I won’t advocate and can’t abide is having stoners tell me how great everything is when they’re as full of shit as their zip lock baggies.

The Colonel September 8, 2015 at 8:24 pm

Here are a few more links proving my assertions:

DUI and Inattentive driving stats up consistently 2012-2014: https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/csp/crash-trends

https://www.codot.gov/safety/alcohol-and-impaired-driving/druggeddriving/assets/fatal-data-drug.pdf

Nick September 8, 2015 at 8:33 pm

Yes, we have more people relocating here and way more people visiting all year round. An increase in accidents could correspond with that. No point there. Now let’s see the statistics for SC.

Nick September 8, 2015 at 9:16 pm

That link also shows a decrease in DUI related crashes in the years since legalization.
Inattentive driving related wrecks are down too. Although, you’d think, with an influx of tourists using their GPS and smartphones for directions while driving is most likely a major contributing factor.
You should really read these links you so hastily Google. Some people actually do.

Nick September 8, 2015 at 8:43 pm

Well, you keep cherry picking articles that are irrelevant to the point you are failing to make. Glancing around this site and reading the comments (oh boy, there are some nuts here) you comment daily on nearly every article, multiple times. You try to come off as a,conservative, but you are just another person who lets their prejudices and biases overshadow any actual ideology or belief system. I get it. You are still consumed by reefer madness and any facts or input from people who have personal experience won’t breech that wall of smug ignorance. Enjoy it, Colonel (still cracks me up. Really? A Col. would never try and throw their service in another’s face. Maybe ‘Colonel of the Keyboard Warriors: SC JRORTC Division). If I remember correctly, it’ll go far there. Now, I’m off to enjoy some nice, safe cannabis. I’ll have an extra bowl for you, as I read through the comments that accompany these articles. Funny stuff!

Nick September 8, 2015 at 5:25 pm

“De Beque is little more than an outpost nestled along I-70 as it winds its way through the rugged hills of western Colorado…”

De Beque is HARDLY representative of Colorado as a whole!!! lol
And the dates of some of the other link are over a year old.
Just curious? You don’t live here and are obviously very clueless about the state in general.
Why all the hate on legal cannabis and more freedoms for adults?

Reply
AFreedomFighter88 September 8, 2015 at 2:25 pm

Just more reefer madness nonsense.

Most e-cigarettes and portable vaporizers do not go much above 212 degrees Fahrenheit. A minimum temperature of about 350 degrees Fahrenheit is required to begin cannabis vaporization. Most active cannabis active components boil off at around 390 degrees Fahrenheit. Hot enough to boil the active components of dried cannabis and yet not burn any of the the plant material. Home vaporizers such as the volcano or Arizer Extreme are capable of doing this. Portable vaporizers and e-cigarettes (like those shown here) are not.

The USA has a lot to answer for around the world regarding destructive prohibition.

Alcohol prohibition in the US was directly responsible for the massive expansion of organized crime in our nation. In its wake, murder, mayhem, lawlessness and destruction. Once the damage was done we were smart enough to repeal the complete idiocy of alcohol prohibition. Our government was stupid enough however, to go forward and repeat the exact same mistake regarding other vices like cannabis, further strengthening the crime lords we were desperately trying to rid ourselves of.

The “War on Drugs” that was launched from our shores and is still being foisted on other nations has been a complete global disaster. Shooting ourselves in the foot wasn’t bad enough. We then held a fiscal gun on 3rd world nations like Jamaica etc. and forced them to repeat the exact same mistake. This total debacle has resulted in the creation of huge powerful global crime cartels and a crime wave of epic proportions destroying the lives it was supposed to protect.

End the failed War on Humanity and legalize cannabis!

Wow, Willie Nelson, Don Ho and Art Garfunkel!

Willie hasn’t written a decent song in 30 years (I think he has on gold record since 1984) and while his concerts are a lot of fun, his brain is obviously addled. Willie wrote his best stuff in the 60’s (Crazy for Patsy Cline), 70’s (Bloody Mary Morning (about his effort to quit all that shit)) and very early 80’s (City of New Orleans, On the Road again) before he started his serious dope smoking.

Don Ho?!? really, his number one song (Tiny Bubbles) peaked at #57 in 1966 – all that pot did a world of good for him as well. I saw him in 81-2 in Waikiki and it was fun but hardly memorable. He died as a result of his belief in “alternative medicines” – I’d hardly call him a “famous cannabis user”

Art Garfunkel?!?! – “Art who” is more like it, Watermark is probably the worst album ever recorded that didn’t have William Shatner or Leonard Nimoy signing on it. Already depressed (and depressing) the cannabis probably exacerbated his problems in the 80’s and 90’s. If former partner Paul Sion hadn’t saved him in the late 90’s he’d probably have completely faded from view.

addictive? Yes, and results in a real, visible change in the brain’s reward
system. And is marijuana safe? No, and the younger you start or the more you
use over time, the more dangerous it is to your brain. Whether or not you
believe recreational marijuana should be legal, it’s time to admit its power as
a dangerous, addictive drug.

hash oil vapes are purpose built, you can’t just buy them over the counter, you pretty much have to have a Colorado connection, i bought one for a retired cop that is terminal, he says he takes a couple of puffs at night and it helps him sleep, i never thought the day would come that i scored some pot for a cop.

The Buzzman September 8, 2015 at 4:21 pm

Starting about 1973 or so in Myrtle Beach, and lasting for a couple of decades, the cops had the best weed. It was what had been confiscated. Some of them sold it, but mostly they sold confiscated coke, because they made more money off of it. You could buy it from them in remote wooded locations, out of the trunks of their squad cars. They threw wild parties, attended by other cops, as well as their young informers and the coke whores they used to bust the big dealers. All this was exposed in the early ’90s, after a major SLED sting busted about 13 of the cops. Most of whom had been at MB High School when I was. Two police chiefs and two detectives included in the bust/sting. Also in the indictments: Grand larceny, extortion, fraud, etc., etc. Case dismissed by the corrupt “justice” system of SC for “lack of evidence.”

From those days, I trust exactly NOTHING a cop has to say about any drug whatsoever. Least of all do I trust them about weed.

Right now, the 510 thread is the most universal connection for battery and atomizer. It seems like a new vape comes out ever month, though. The technology of the hardware and concentrates in moving very fast. Sorry about your friend. Been years since I lived in SC, so I’m not sure how easy and what types of consentrates are available there. I live in CO and still use eBay to get cheap batteries and atomizers that cost double at pipe shops here.

this one has a cool function on it, a red light goes off when you get your dose so you know just how much you are taking in per hit.

Yeah, there are so many cool devices out there and the most amazing cannabis products. Anyone who is against legalization needs to come visit CO for a week and see if there is any real noticeable difference between here and anywhere else. On my block I live between a dispensary on one end and a liquor store on the other. Guess which one has inebriated louts hanging outside and which one you would drive past everyday and barely notice?

yep and kids here are getting busted and will have a record that will haunt them for the rest of their lives for something they could do legally in a more progressive state.

It seems bizarre to think it’s still illegal elsewhere.
I got popped for simple possession when I lived in SC.
I still can’t believe I can walk into a nice clean dispensary, talk to a lovely young lady and buy some of the best cannabis in the world for cheap prices…and never once have to worry about the police. Actually, I can’t believe everybody all over the country cannot do that.

I don’t think the vapor handle is available in US. I want one to help with quit smoking CIGARETTES, but I was told they are illegal here. The only one I saw was a friend who bought it in another country, says you can’t buy here. I was under the impression the tool in pic, whatever they call it, is to reduce the amount of nicotine. But I don’t know anywhere you can buy in US

There are vape stores everywhere. Even in SC. Try google maps.

A pig is a pig. You can pour a bottle eau de toilet on that pig, but it’s still a pig, no matter what some dumbass, mind-fucked blogger tries to sell to you.

vaping gets you stoned on less, it lasts longer, and there’s less cellulose and plant trash in the vapor… wax is even more concentrated… get some on the end of a pin or paper clip, run your lighter over it, and you’re good to go for hours.

Cigarettes, on the other hand, are deadly. You might smoke 30 to 50 a day to feed your habit.

LEGALIZE IT! Colorado just realized $150 million in tax revenue from cannabis sales. That sure would fix ALOT of roads in SC!
