Poor SC September 3, 2015 at 9:15 am

SC has a lot of poor people and not a lot of jobs to give them.

Sam Brownback is just pushing right wing red meat regardless of its consequences. One look at his state’s budget will tell you what that does. Not a good example of what SC should do.

Ain’t it intesting that the majority of states that waive the work requirement fully are “red states?”

Oh.Is that like giving taxpayer subsidized Driver’s Licences to illegal criminals in ILLEGAL Sanctuary cities in ‘blue’ states like California?

Problem we have in this country is the 70% of ILLEGALS receiving government assistance in this country. Cut it off and deport them.

That’s only because most state are red. All the state’s that did not receive a waiver are RED STATES except for blue Maine and leaning blue Iowa.

SC’s low low low hourly wages. Dirt poor. And dirt stupid to allow it. Everybody else is getting rich off of SC’s low paid blue collar workers who have to have EBT food supplements just to live. It is all going to catch up very very soon.

There are some sure things that you get when you reward stupidity and laziness, you get more stupidity and more laziness.
And don’t think for one minute that entitlements and other welfare programs are not used to buy votes. And the politicians remain content keeping as many people as they can on the dole to support their voting constituency.
When a politician tells you how much he does for the disadvantaged and down-trodden, he is actually telling you how many votes he can buy.

If my memory serves me right Andre Bauer wanted to discuss this topic during the 2010 Governors campaign and the GOP establishment specifically the GOP Chairman critizided Lt. Governor Bauer for even mentioning the topic as did Haley. Hind sight is 20/20 right?

Real leaders recognize problems before they become problems. Just like Andre Bauer did 5 years ago. Where is Andre Bauer today…. South Carolina could use some leaders with foresight.

I feel like Bauer talked about social program reform that entire race. And now no one is. Bauer was the only real thinker on those debate stages. Remember the idea to privatize highway rest stops? Or even sell naming rights to highway exits? He got people thinking, instead of same ol, same ol “republican” sound bite talking points.

The problem is, no one will hire people in South Carolina. Either you have to know someone famous, with money, or has lived here over 2 years to get a job. If your from up north and just moved down. I am one of the most literate people in my city, I don’t know why I can’t get a single call back on jobs? Now I am calling every body! All the jobs I, ME, MYSELF, I! I am interested in, not even the state jobs I applied for, and I know I qualify, am able, and have the skills so WTJMJ! . It is like WTJMJ(Jesus, Mary, and Joseph)!?

I don’t know why make a work requirement after 2 years, if businesses can make it a rule not to hire residents with only a college degree, hire residents of 2-5 years, and then make it so you have to look good online, even if everyone in town knows you have former people from the state you have been trying to move away from harassing you and defaming you. What is with QVC, Mervin Griffin, hating Ohioans? It is completely inappropriate, and it is in the movie, “Joy” near the end with Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Deniro, and Bradly Cooper(playing the deceived Mervin Griffin). Basically, the 2 cities people that work and operate at QVC work from, I guess some bad deal he made, he got burned really bad, and he generally hates Ohioans. Even if they want to become southerners. It is like what happened? I don’t know what to do.
