A DEFINING MONTH IN AMERICAN HISTORY …
|| By RICK MANNING || As August draws to a close politics continues to dominate the news cycle at a time when most in the arena are typically recharging their batteries in preparation for a very tough post-Labor Day session of Congress.
In the aftermath of the live on-air murder of two journalists, we are hearing the predictable cries for more gun control laws from those who have created the climate of victimhood and racial anger that appear to have led a deranged, pathetic man to become an assassin.
If, as the perpetrator contended, he was motivated by the tragedy in Charleston, S.C. months earlier, then it certainly can be inferred that those who used those murders to advance their political agendas by creating an increased climate of racial division should engage in some honest reexamination. It is clear that the only person responsible for the murder of the reporters was the perpetrator. It is equally clear that the incendiary rhetoric that has become commonplace since Ferguson, Mo. is creating the environment where the mentally deranged are susceptible to being pushed over the edge.
The evil raging inside the former broadcaster that led him to take the lives of those who were doing the job he had been fired from, is the same evil that resided in the man who prayed with an African American church group for an hour prior to executing them.
Evil exists, and failure to recognize it for what it is only allows it to grow. Rather than cast tragedies in simplistic wrong-headed directions, it is time for an examination of America’s heart problem that allows this kind of evil to seemingly flourish.
Speaking of evil, when Congress returns in September, they will face their greatest moral dilemma since the debate over ending slavery, when they decide whether to continue funding Planned Parenthood. In the wake of the release of a series of horrific videos exposing that organization as nothing more than a baby parts chop shop, ignorance is no longer an excuse, and tough choices will have to be made between what is seen as good politics and confronting evil.
There really is no excuse for a failure in courage. Every day, politicians ask those in uniformed service to our nation to put their lives on the line to protect America from those who mean to do us harm. It should not be too much to expect that these same leaders would put aside their fear of the negative political ramifications of “shutting down the government” in a showdown with Obama to stop providing taxpayer dollars to vile death merchants. It is this simple: anyone who votes to send a dime to Planned Parenthood might as well be taking the scalpel in their own hand and cutting through the face of an unborn black baby to get his intact brain while his heart is still beating. The next five weeks will define the very character of each of the 535 elected Members of Congress, I hope they realize it and have the courage to meet this moral crucible in our nation’s history.
On a much lighter note, Donald Trump has put the toupee issue to rest as he invited a woman from a South Carolina audience up on stage to check out his hair and provide independent verification that his bouffant is real. Somehow, I don’t think when she woke up that morning that she expected to make the national news as a Trump scalp inspector. The lesson is one a Boy Scout can appreciate – you never know what might be in store for you each day, so be prepared to make the most of it.

That was an interesting peak into the fantasy world republicans live in these days. More ridiculous defense of doing nothing on our out of control gun problem. More made up ‘moral’ outrage that will go nowhere. And another example of the ‘hero’ of the right wing nuts being a total buffoon. What in the hell happened to you guys? It’s weird and very sad.

I have to admit the Planned Parenthood debacle has transformed me into a pro-lifer. At the very least, I am against tax dollars going to fund Planned Parenthood. Poor women can get birth control with their Medicaid. Planned Parenthood has no other purpose than to operate as a government funded abortion clinic.
I can see why someone like Rick Manning whose occupation is manufacturing outrage would want Congress to investigate Planned Parenthood. Too bad so many citizens like Mom have been bamboozled.
An expert analysis conducted by Fusion GPS into the “sting” videos by anti-abortion extremists posing as medical company reps and released by a group calling itself the Center for Medical Progress concluded that the five videotapes of Planned Parenthood staff have at least 42 splices where content is cut and edited together to make it appear to be a seamless conversation.
In some cases, these splices completely change the meaning of statements. On one video, a Planned Parenthood staff member’s remarks about lab protocols were edited to make it sound like she was talking about changing abortion procedures. Phrases on the tape were isolated and removed, stringing together unrelated sentences to change the meaning.
On one tape, a Planned Parenthood staff member in Colorado says 13 separate times that any arrangements related to fetal tissue donation need to be reviewed by attorneys and follow all laws—and all 13 are edited out of the video.
On another tape, a Planned Parenthood staff member in Texas says nine separate times that there is no “profit” related to fetal tissue donation—and all nine are edited out of the video.
The hidden cameras used had both time stamps and frame counters turned on, revealing where chunks were missing. Audio didn’t match video, camera angles and lighting changed in the middle of conversations and time stamps revealed big jumps. These were not mistakes or using the equipment incorrectly. They were intentional post-production edits which mean the videos have no evidentiary value in a legal context and cannot be relied upon for any official inquiries.
Entering them in a Congressional investigation should be a criminal offense comparable to perjury.
For many women on Medicaid, a Planned Parenthood clinic is their preferred choice to receive birth control, and Federal law protects their right to choose their Medicaid provider.
You cannot be a decent person and still support Planned Parenthood because “decent” means “morally upright and respectable.” There is nothing — absolutely nothing — morally upright or respectable about being an apologist for child killers.
You are evil.
Mammograms are evil? HIV testing is evil? Providing birth control (the surest way the prevent abortion) is evil? These are things that 98% of PP services provide. Learn to read and leave it too the ladies. You’re an old man who isn’t going to impregnate anyone. Go back to your FoxNews and dusty old farts.

Yes.The abortion industry is evil. Those who support–financially and politically–the abortion machine are supporting an evil and a wicked enterprise. Once you see doctors and executives from Planned Parenthood pulling baby’s severed limbs and organs out from a dish while joking around, you cannot in good conscience claim this is all about “women’s health.” The “women’s health” euphemism is a grotesque lie.
