… IT’S NOT JUST THE COST YOU SHOULD BE WORRIED ABOUT

|| By FITSNEWS || As the refugee resettlement debate in Spartanburg, S.C. heats up (again), questions are being raised not only about the costs of the program – but about the safety of the communities “welcoming” these foreign immigrants under the guise of Christian charity.

Ever since we broke this story back in April, our website has been consistent: We oppose these resettlements.

“We explicitly reject the use of federal tax dollars – routed through liberal foundations – to impose long-term obligations on South Carolina taxpayers,” we re-affirmed this week.  “If faith-based organizations wish to host legal immigrants on their own dime, that’s great – but their activities cannot be subsidized by government revenue.  Nor can they be permitted to impose affirmative new obligations on already over-taxed citizens.”

Unfortunately, such obligations are being imposed on South Carolinians right now thanks to the administration of governor Nikki Haley – who supports these refugee resettlements.  In fact Haley is reportedly on board with a plan to double the number of incoming refugees to the South Carolina Upstate next year – ostensibly in the name of Christian compassion.

So to recap: Already overburdened Palmetto taxpayers will be forced to provide for these refugees (with state funds) after liberal “philanthropic” organizations received federal tax dollars to bring them here.

Make sense?  Of course not …

America simply cannot afford that.  And South Carolina certainly can’t afford it …

But this issue isn’t just about new taxpayer obligations – it’s also about public safety.

To wit: The brutal murder of Portland, Maine health care worker Freddy Akoa, a Christian who police say was beaten to death earlier this month by three Muslim refugees – Mohamud Mohamed, 36, Osman Sheikh, 31, and Abil Teshome, 23.

Akoa’s death is described in gruesome detail in this World Net Daily report, right down to the “22 rib fractures,” “lacerated liver” and “blood-spattered Bible … found lying next to his head.”

Wait, though … these are Somali refugees, right?  Aren’t the ones coming to South Carolina supposed to be from Syria?

Yes … but …

An estimated 1,100 Somali refugees have been resettled in Portland over the last thirteen years – part of a whopping 110,000 Somali refugees sent to America under the auspices of the U.S. State Department and the United Nations over that same time period.  And the influx is ongoing – with an estimated 600 to 800 Somali immigrants arriving in America every month under “humanitarian” scams like the one being perpetrated in Spartanburg.

One U.S. congressman – Brian Babin of Texas – has called for a halt to the resettlements.  Earlier this year Babin introduced legislation – the “Resettlement Accountability National Security Act of 2015” – which would suspend the program pending a review of its costs and its impact on national security.

So far not a single U.S. Representative has co-sponsored Babin’s bill …

Supporters of the resettlement programs claim the effort is being led (and funded) by evangelicals, but as noted in our original report this spring “previous resettlement campaigns couched as ‘evangelical’ efforts have in reality been front groups for liberal campaigns like the National Immigration Forum – a group that’s received funding from organizations affiliated with billionaire liberal financier George Soros.”

Also these “non-profit” organizations – including the World Relief group orchestrating the South Carolina resettlements – receive the majority of their funding from the federal government.

Our guess?  “Christians” wouldn’t be so quick to support these programs if they knew the truth …

You did not say anything it, except about how much you hated Romney, pre-election, 2012. So STFU about it now.

You knew Obama and the Democrat Party were desperate to replenish their fraudulent voter base. Abortion, non-child-producing homosexuals and the total failure of the Democrat Party under Obama is depleting them.

And when all the money runs out, how will y’all pay the government workers?

Enter: a mass of illegal handout-seekers in hopes to save your sorry asses. But you’ll find “nothin’ from nothin’ leave nothin'”..to quote Billy Preston…

Except in relation to Big T, you are irrelevant. Whereas Big T is Mr. Relevant.

Sucks for you to be that insignificant. But the Democrat party gives your life meaning, only as a sponge for the Bullshit with which they fill their minions. It’s your fault for allowing yourself to be used like that.

Blah, blah, blah…typical rambling generalizations of a miserable liberal. How many times do I have to tell you to come up with something new? Every time, it’s “the only substance you ever produce is”, “you are irrelevant”, “pop culture”, “Democrat party and their minions”, etc. You may have fooled Folks but you can’t fool anybody else on here. It’s a perfect example of a weak mind to repeat the same robotic generalizations. That’s the only substance YOU ever produce. Oh yeah, that, and using an argument that logically infers the conclusion that Germone Hopper is better than Pharoh Cooper. Keep avoiding that one like the plague, Big T.

What would be your end? August 27, 2015 at 1:16 pm

I think that poster has a trust issue with this site because of your visceral hatred for Republicans, while soft-handing the Democrats who are destroying this country.

Until the Democrat Party – and its empowering media – is obliterated, we cannot even begin to think about cleaning up ANY of these problems.

There is way too much camaraderie with – and seeking from – pop culture and the media to believe this site is based in any sort of true reform.

This site leads us right back to Democrats in control of our government, working against the will of the people who build it.

You seem to be the ONLY media outlet in the U.S. who is reporting this story – at least the only one my Google News Alerts has pulled up. I didn’t realize “Alerts” was so slow since I only rec’d the notice this morning.

Good for S.C. and Spartanburg for pushing back. The “Sanctuary Cities” for illegals are in truth pockets of unconstitutional secessionists; the push back against this “refugee” seeding project carried out by the State Dept and other under-the-radar unaccountable agencies has been going on for years all over the country. With the hundreds of other stealth “resettlement” projects there have been no news reports.

The “faith-based” orgs used for cover are not representative of the far larger number of church-goers within their denominations who would not be on board with what these groups, operating in their name, are doing. We have so very many Americans desperate for work and training; these groups could be helping their own, but they don’t. Instead they drag in 3rd world peoples who are not here bec they like us but because life in their home country is hopeless. These people will never assimilate. They are nothing like the immigrants who came here to build a new life and contributed to the greater good of the country, adding their own strengths to the larger mix…our vaunted “melting pot”. These new groups do not learn English but demand translators who can inform us of their demands. Few of them will ever be self-supporting, nor will their children.

The Dems already ruined two generations of black people, destroying the strong black family culture in the process. Daniel Moynihan warned LBJ that his so-called “War on Poverty” was in reality a war on black families and would destroy an important strand of the larger American culture. To which LBJ said, “yeah, but they’ll be OUR voters. The GOP will never get them back”. Moynihan went on to serve as a senator from NY, but the whole degradation of the Entitlement Culture that he sadly predicted and saw play out was – I think- part of the reason he died earlier than he might have otherwise. Ironically, one of the architects of this ruin, Hillary Clinton, moved to NY and successfully campaigned for his seat.

Ann Corcoran at Refugee Resettlement Watch is the only website I know which reports on all these “seeding” projects. And now you seem to be the only media outlet ANYWHERE “reporting on the truth behind the “evangelical” scam. As a Virginian who knows well that our rural area could be next, I hope you KEEP ON TELLING THE TRUTH.

BTW, there is a big solar company suddenly opening up in a county not far from where we are. I will be watching to see if it’s not a set-up to employ people who haven’t arrived there…yet. No word on the finances for this green project.

For a look at a town that successfully fought back, I recommend looking up Lawrenceville VA. There are also some home-made You Tube videos of the town meeting which defeated the government’s attempt to open up the historically important St. Paul’s College there, and use it for the “children” that were escorted to the US from Central America. The townspeople voted down the attempt…iirc, the first word they had about this “humanitarian” project was when they saw strangers cleaning up the property as though they planned to use it. Word spread quickly that these “strangers” were temp federal employees.

St. Paul’s College probably belongs to the Episcopal Diocese of Southern VA and they must have signed off on this govt attempt to use it. The diocese holds endless workshops on racism but they’ve got the perfect venue for REAL training and they don’t use it. For many generations the college was the ONLY place for black men (and eventually women) to receive ministerial training.

So now you are bringing this down to a personal level. Well I don’t know you and you don’t know me, but I’ve been working since I was 14, graduated the top of my high school class and college, and have been employed by the same company for 13 years- 3 promotions in that time period. All while raising a family and never with government help. Same goes for my husband. And yes, I do believe in a simple flat tax for all and there should be no yearly property taxes. But I also believe that we should stop entitlement programs paid for with tax money. Taxes should pay for military and medical coverage for the elderly, period. (Maybe a little for the roads since we do have to use them to go back and forth to work! :) ) Now, if you have been working longer, it’s probably because you are older. And you may work harder physically because I do have a comfy office job which I earned through obtaining a good education and moving up through the corporate ladder.

And you have to consider that this is a free and open blog, your comments are public and everyone is free to respond. I have chosen not to read, and not to respond to their inconveniences and annoyances.
Your posts are well thought out and well conveyed, making good points. Don’t get in the intellectual ditch with these cretins, it will just embolden them to keep making bigger asses of themselves than they already are.

Ah yes, I’ve seen some of the comments people make. But honestly, I’m not going to let words on a computer offend me, and I don’t believe Sic Semper was trying to offend me at all, just testing the waters of this newcomer to the blog.
Now, I know there are some who will reply with ugly, harsh words, but they are just words. At the end of the day I’m still me and I’m still makin’ it just fine. If people can’t deal with harsh criticism, whether true or not, then a public blog in the land of the free is not where they belong.

But we are net ahead with the ordinary rich, especially those that make useful things or provide useful services. Not only do we benefit from the things the make and do, but they actually pay into the system. In fact, small businessmen are becoming almost like indentured servants – they keep so little of the fruits of their labor.

What bothers me are the people who are getting rich moving human beings across the globe and telling them they do not have to assimilate in their new homes; rather they can become part of communities within communities and eventually a nation within a nation – until they are big enough to take it over.

At some point, this country has to establish some limits on immigration. Most civilized countries realize that they can not support an endless influx of refugees, not matter their circumstance.
Try going to Switzerland, Japan, and other civilized countries and overstay your Visa. They will come looking for you and on a plane you are, out of their country. No endless appeals, based on perceived rights that don’t exist.
They also do not open their borders to and endless supply of refugees from other countries. Sounds tough, and it is, but a country has to protect its sovereignty, provide for its own citizens, and ensure the safety and well-being of those citizens.
“Fundamentally changing this country through illegal access will eventually ensure that we will suffer economic, social, and political problems that will lead to a further degradation and our demise.
Limited immigration should be allowed, a mass invasion will soon lead to a lowering of a standard of living and social order that took centuries to attain.

It isn’t the school system, but rather lazy South Carolinians who think that simply showing up for classes should somehow result in a quality education.

If Nikki Haley approves the Refugee Programs in Greenville (World Relief, the new one that has done nothing it was supposed to do and had to rescued by the US Dept of State, a day late and a dollar short)) and Lutheran Services in Columbia and Greenville), then the last line of defense is your county council. Asst Secretary of State, Anne Richard asserted in a meeting in Spartanburg that they can put refugees anywhere in SC as long as the Governor signs on and sad to say, sources tell me she has signed on. Please sign this petition – its interactive map will let your councilmembers know (even if you sign anonymously) that you do not support the program. But you really should call them personally if you are interested at all in Western Civilization:

The petition is here: http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/no-refugee-resettlement-without-local-ok/signatures.html

And this is the SC law that inspired the nationwide movement for local control of State/UN selected refugees into our communities:

117.132. GP: “Refugee Resettlement Program) No state funds shall be expended to assist in the United States Refugee Resettlement Program unless the county council of the county where the resettlement is to occur approves the relocation.” It was signed into law by Gov. Haley and went into effect July 1, 2015. It needs to be used, but may not be used if local people do not care about local control.
