UPSTATE “REPUBLICAN” SAID TO BE CLOSE TO STEPPING DOWN
|| By FITSNEWS || A third South Carolina State Senator could be on the verge of announcing their intention to step down at the end of the four-year term expiring in 2016.
Earlier this month two State Senators – Joel Lourie of Columbia and Paul Thurmond of Charleston – announced they would not seek reelection in 2016. The announcements took Palmetto political insiders by surprise seeing as neither lawmaker was in any real danger of losing their seat.
Also Lourie, 52, and Thurmond, 39, were seen as being in the prime of their political careers – which were built on foundations laid by their famous fathers, former S.C. Senate leader Isadore Lourie and longtime U.S. Senator Strom Thurmond.
Anyway … who is the third State Senator?
Good question …
Sources familiar with the lawmaker in question will only say he is a “Republican” who hails from the Upstate region of South Carolina – and that we’ll be informed when (and if) a decision is made.
State Senators are elected every four years – coinciding with presidential elections. State Representatives are elected every two years, while the state’s constitutional officers (governor, lieutenant governor, etc.) are elected every four years coinciding with the national midterm elections.
As they say … “developing.”

Hey momma, no need to buy the gallon size roach kill just get the half gallon, the little sons of bitches are running out of the kitchen into the back yard, something has got the eight kneed bastards upset —-
Fucking Cockroaches
Problem is, Jim, you have eight more roaches and roachettes willing to take their daddy’s place in the House or Senate. You might want to pick up two gallons.
“eight kneed bastard”
Six, not that that gives them any redemption.
Eight would be spiders, and some of them are quite useful in getting rid of pests, far more than we can say for the typical statehouse floor crawler.
thanks, I forgot the “teen”

Cockroaches have 6 legs and least 18 knees!!!
Thurmond and Lourie did NOT resign.
You’re right. They abdicated.
No King Edward VII did that.
BTW, in less than a month Q.E. II surpasses Queen Victoria as the longest reigning British monarch.
Feel free to impress your friends with that knowledge.
Their offices were both inherited by the eldest son.
…that we know of.
I hope it’s Mike Fair. That the people of the Upstate have voted that anachronism into office this long is a disgrace upon them.
Let’s hope it is Mike Fair or that more recent Senate doofus Corbin.
Great news, three more steps up the seniority ladder for my favorite senator. Four more years Katrina. YES.
Please let it be Corbin or Bright
But odds are Bright ain’t going nowhere cause he needs the money and graft.
Corbin does mow lawns for a living (or by the looks of him someone else does the actual work) so he has something to fall back on.
Either way all of them are set up for the retirement benefits (so I understand)
My guess is that some of these resignations may have something to do with the corruption probe more so than the needing to “Spend more time with the family” crap.
Probably Kevin Bryant. His “college hottie” has been talking for a while. Let him whistle Jesus tunes while his wife bitch-slaps that little tramp!
Photo’s please!
Please let it be Bright!
