OHIO GOVERNOR PREPARES TO LAUNCH “FIRST IN THE SOUTH” CANDIDACY
|| By FITSNEWS || This website will not be supporting Ohio governor John Kasich‘s bid for the White House. Twenty years ago, we’d have been all about a Kasich candidacy – because back then he was a principled pro-free market, pro-liberty U.S. congressman.
Today? He’s just another status quo “Republican.”
Sort of like his one-time ideological ally, U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford – who now asks “how high?” when another liberal Ohio “Republican” tells him to “jump.”
Anyway Kasich – who narrowly qualified for the big GOP debate in his home state last week – turned in a very strong performance at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio last week.
In fact as much as it pains us to admit … he and fellow fiscally liberal governor Chris Christie of New Jersey both turned in sold performances.
(Editor’s note: Drat!)
Anyway, Kasich will look to build on his momentum in early-voting South Carolina early next week. He’ll be in the capital city of Columbia on Monday afternoon to file his paperwork as an official “First in the South” candidate, and from there he will travel to the South Carolina coast to participate in a forum sponsored by a pro-national security group.
Courtesy of Kasich’s presidential campaign, here’s his itinerary:
Columbia
Event: Gov. John Kasich Officially Files to Appear on S.C. Republican Presidential Primary Ballot
Time: 1 pm
Location: S.C. Republican Party State Headquarters Office, 1913 Marion St, Columbia, SC 29201Myrtle Beach
Event: Americans for Peace, Prosperity and Security Forum
Time: 4:30pm
Location: Horry Georgetown Technical College at the Thomas Maeser Auditorium, 950 Crabtree Lane, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina 29577
Again, we’re no fans of Kasich’s “centrist” GOP candidacy … but it’s safe to say he’ll be drawing a little more interest on this South Carolina swing given his strong performance in last week’s debate.

One more check in the bank for the SCGOP. Thank you Gov.
Nice guy. Not a liar like Boehner HOWEVER to liberal. He may do well in New Hampshire but so is SOCIALIST Bernie Sanders.
Keep an open mind on Kasich. His rhetoric may not be as sharp as the other candidates, but his record is impressive – both in Washington and in Ohio.
Obama elected Kasich like Obama elected Haley.Obama gave pubs the senate, house 34 governorships and control of a majority of BOTH chambers in state legislatures for the first time since the Civil War.Liberals in Ohio really like Kasich. He got 27% of the black vote. That ought to tell you how liberal he is. The Democrat Party doesn’t exist in Ohio except for 3 counties-Hamillton,Franklin and Cuyahoga.
His expansion of Medicaid under Obamacare is hurting the state financially.Teachers, fire fighters and police officers hate him.
He is for building a Wall to keep illegals out and making them go to end of the line for citizenship and END Sanctuary cities. They wouldn’t become citizens and be able to vote for decades.
If you think Kasich is a ‘centrist’, you obviously don’t remember his career in the US House.
However, he does seem to have pragmatic streak and that sets his apart from the pathological ideological rigidity of the average 21st century Republican…most of whom should peel off and be in the Libertarian Party or the Theocracy Party or the I’m Just Crazy As A Chinch Bug Party.
“I’m just crazy as a chinch bug party.” That should be : The I Actually Stand for Something Party. Not being a Liberaltarian or a Theocrat or a spineless moderate that would be my wing of the party. Every body has to be something. LOL
Don’t forget, this jerk voted for Clinton’s assault weapons ban. Strike 1, strike 2 strike 3. You’re OUT. Now for my favorite saying for politicians—- around the bowl and down the hole.
Meanwhile, it appears Dr. Carson was a beneficiary of Planned Parenthood part mills for his research. Oooops!!!!
