ANOTHER PALMETTO STATE LAWMAKER JOINS “CARLY FOR AMERICA”

|| By FITSNEWS || S.C. Rep. Phyllis Henderson is endorsing the presidential bid of former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, according to a release from the latter’s campaign.

The third-term lawmaker from Greenville, S.C. said she’s backing Fiorina because an outsider with business experience is best equipped to reverse the damage done to the U.S. economy by the administration of Barack Obama.

PHYLLIS HENDERSON
PHYLLIS HENDERSON

“Washington is dysfunctional, and it’s hurting South Carolina businesses and hampering our economic growth,” Henderson said in a statement. “My district is home to a lot of South Carolina businesses, many of whom have been hurt by the Obama administration’s liberal policies that are strangling economic growth.  The best way to get our economy working again is to have a leader in the White House who understands business.”

Henderson joins another Upstate GOP lawmaker – S.C. Rep. Donna Hicks of Spartanburg – in endorsing Fiorina.

Fiorina’s campaign said the two Upstate legislators would “help build a grassroots network of support in South Carolina and communicate why Carly’s unique and impressive background is what we need in the next President of the United States.”

Fiorina’s stock is on the rise after an impressive performance during last week’s panel forum of the seven lowest-polling “Republican” presidential contenders.  In fact she’s doing so well now that other campaigns are starting to leak dirt on her – including details of her tumultuous departure from the tech company that’s become synonymous with her name.

Fiorina addressed her Hewlett-Packard history head-on …

“Yes, I got fired in a boardroom brawl,” she told CNN this week “And you know why? It’s because I challenged the status quo. It is what leaders must do. And when you challenge the status quo, when you lead, you make enemies. It is why so few people lead. But guess what? It is the kind of leadership we need now in the Oval Office.”

Well-played …

Fiorina may not capture the “Republican” presidential nomination, but she’s clearly positioned herself as a favorite for the GOP vice presidential nod.

Come on man! From what I’ve seen, she is the only one on either side of the aisle that can form a cogent thought and express it intelligently even while taking hostile fire. I can dig that cool under pressure thing, it is a rarity. BTW, have you been keeping up with the “trial” in Charlotte?

I dunno, man. I find it hard to trust anyone from Cali, anymore. Also, and yes this is sexist as hell, my trust of female politicians as of late is a notch or two lower than the lack of trust I have for the male roaches. Also, she has been a darling of turncoat Fox News since day one. I know, none of those are solid reasons to dislike her but they all add up to a “gut feeling” that just won’t go away.

What’s the latest in Charlotte?

The “trial” of the unfortunate cop that shot that “poor, unarmed man” that rushed the cop and tried to take his weapon. This whole trial and the city payout is completely political and not based at all on the Law. it has placed management and the guys on the street in complete opposition. I just can’t help but wonder when in the Hell did it become OK to beat a cop’s ass as long as your not armed?

I agree with you, as usual. From what I have read, I hope he is acquitted. Didn’t know if there is news on how the trial is going for him or not.

From what you are telling me, I hope the Char-Meck cops slow down on aggressive patrols as they have in Baltimore, for similar reasons and with similar results.

The knives are out. Reports are Bush is already leaking opposition research on Kasich in NH. Expect Jebito’s henchmen to go after her, Kasich, Cruz, Paul and Walker with dirty tricks now. Looks like he’s already going after Carson – with the leaked story about Carson doing research with them Planned Parent fetus factory parts. He’ll be firing up on Christie too, but Christie sort of is easy to push over, sort of like humty dumpty. Guess the plan is to go after Trumpito last, as a fight with him gets messy.

Bush’s mushy middle establishment roots are starting to show. There will be all kinds of “revelations” about the other candidates as time goes by. No big surprise, if you are ashamed of your record you trash everyone else’s.

The GOP can’t go after Trump right now. The rebellion would go absolutely nuts, and he’d certainly go third party. They’re hoping they can slice and dice him later after the revolt settles down. Assuming of course, the revold settles down. McConnell and Boehner have to come back in September and through mid-Decmeber pass the budgets, etc – and that will surely piss off the revolting base.

If anybody wants to learn more about Carly on the issues, this long-form interview is a good way to hear her speak on various issues in her own words, while effortlessly thwarting a biased liberal interviewer at the same time. Each issue has its own section:

She is articulate and glib, for sure. Her statements about how H-P prospered under her reign don’t hold up too well to scrutiny though. HP had good revenue and other numbers under her because they merged with Compaq, but the earnings did not do well.

It was kind of like when Kmart bought Sears. Two dying dinosaurs joined forces but they are still dying dinosaurs.

Tom August 14, 2015 at 9:50 am

I guess by prospered she means the stock only dropped 50%. I supposes if they had hired someone more incompetent than she it could have dropped 75%. But I guess we will never know, because they fired her and hired someone who could do the job.

The earnings didn’t do well in large part because this was during a huge tech recession, the dot com bust. Carly led HP through a very tough time and kept the company relevant, PREVENTING it from becoming the “dying dinosaur” you speak of – in fact that was why HP hired her, because HP was having trouble keeping up to begin with. I know people are going to keep trying to hit her with this, but the facts are on her side.

This should say all anyone needs to know about Carly.

Feb 14, 2005 … Carly Fiorina resigned as CEO of Hewlett Packard last week under pressure from the board and shareholders. She will get a severance package worth about $21.4 million. The share price of HP stock has fallen over 50% since Fiorina took over in July 1999.” I guess this was the Fiorina version of “only little people pay taxes.”

Maybe she wants to do for the country what she did for HP. If so, how much would we have to pay here in severance if we fired her. Oh, thats right 400k+- per year for the rest of her life. This to add to her 21 million, from the last job she was fired from.

The way it was told to me was she wanted to keep things right and legal where the board wanted to cut corners. Several of the board members are either in jail or facing charges of some kind. She seems like a solid person. Would make a fine VP. There are more women than Hispanics.

Do people get paid for posting on this site? If so I am being ripped off. Carley was fired because she was incompetent. But unlike the thousands of jobs she destroyed at HP, she walked away with a fortune that could have gone to save some of those jobs.

Hmm, I think you are being lied to, where did you that information from, Fake News, Rush, Beck, A board does not need any other reason to fire a CEO, than the stock dropping 50% over 5 years. She was incompetent at her job, and she was fired. But don’t let facts get in the way.

Reply
RogueElephant August 14, 2015 at 11:58 am

I never let facts get in the way. LOL That all happened during the down turn in tech stocks. Everyone lost money at that time. I didn’t get out quick enough and took a bath myself.

So someone who would know said that Carley crashed the company stock because she was trying to keep things right and legal while everyone else wanted to commit crimes. So based on your “insider” information not only was she a screw up at her job, she covered up a criminal conspiracy on the board.

She also fostered the Compaq merger, which was probably the worst business decision ever made.

Once again, Republicans show how America is superior to EVERY other country in the entire world, except for Papua New Guinea. Ourselves – and the recently reformed head hunters in Papua New Guinea – are the ONLY two countries (out of 196 total) that do not have mandatory paid maternity leave. Tell me again, Carly, how much you care for women and babies.

Hahaha! Look at all the Dumbocrat lemmings on this thread throwing sh$t against the wall about Fiorina, yapping about this or that, and 10 seconds later sing the praises and would pull the lever for somebody like HiLIARy (go to the back of the line) Clinton. Never mind HiLIARy’s 30-year campaign of criminal behavior, the war on sexual predator Bubba’s women, the cavalcade of lies and dishonesty about (take your pick) Benghazi, travel office, Whitewater, cattle futures, secret emails, the server, fired from Watergate, whatever. The one thing you can always count on from Dumbocrats is their rank and naked hypocrisy when it comes to candidates with the ‘D’ by their name.
