|| By FITSNEWS || Clemson University’s twelfth-ranked football team has lost one of its top defensive starters for the entire 2015 season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
Junior defensive back Korrin Wiggins sustained the injury attempting to recover a fumble during a situational scrimmage on Wednesday at Memorial Stadium.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pound native of Durham, N.C. has recorded 54 tackles, four tackles for loss, four interceptions and seven passes broken up in 25 games over the last two seasons. He’s one of only four returning players to start at least six games for Clemson’s top-ranked defense a year ago.
Head coach Dabo Swinney‘s Tigers – preseason favorites to win the Atlantic Coast Conference – are coming off of their fourth consecutive 10-win season. Of course they’ll have to find a way to replace a pair of first round NFL draft picks on defense if they hope to repeat that success this year – which makes Wiggins loss all the more troubling.

I’ve heard the same thing from people on the spot. Dabo is definitely a LIVE FOR THE MOMENT coach, with not much consideration for anyone’s future, except his own.

On the bright side, they just found their excuse for when the season isn’t even close to the expectations they think they will have this year.
When you are losing players I’ve never heard of, reporting it like it’s the end of the world, that speaks VOLUMES about the state of your program. Regardless of what all the pundits claim.
And: Godspeed to this young man. Hope his recovery is quick, and he’s back to new, soon. Injuries are part of the game, but you hate to see them, still.

Well maybe you should worry about beating my team. The Noles! You didn’t last year with our Heisman winner out of the game, so nothing shows you to be capable this year. I doubt Watson will make it to that game with out being hurt. What did he get hurt like 4 times since he got on campus a year and a half ago? You also wont beat GT. I doubt Notre Dame, but that wont count against you, except for pride. I guess you need to be happy you play USCe and beat them something like once every 6 years or what ever it was (and they suck but you keep talking about that 1 win so good job). The truth is we run the conference, and we are the only ACC team to win a national title in this century (hell we are the only team since we joined to win it too).
