NETWORK ANCHORS, RIVAL CANDIDATES CONSPIRE TO TAKE OUT TRUMP
|| By FITSNEWS || Carrying the water for the nation’s political establishment, “conservative” Fox News threw everything but the kitchen sink at GOP frontrunner Donald Trump during the first “Republican” presidential debate at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio this week.

Assuming the roles of rival campaign operatives, Fox’s hosts Bret Bair, Megyn Kelly and Chris Wallace unloaded on “The Donald,” attacking him for being a Democrat-in-hiding, a sexist, a failed businessman and a flip-flopper on the abortion issue.
For the most part, Trump survived the attempted political assassination – giving as good as he took.
But let’s call this “debate” what it really was: A scripted, calculated bid by the “Republican” establishment to erode the groundswell of GOP support for Trump – whose “say anything” brand of campaigning has struck a nerve with the American people.
The debate’s opening salvo – in which Bair asked each candidate to pledge their support for the eventual GOP and forego an independent candidacy – was a direct assault on Trump, who has flirted with the notion of an independent bid.
More importantly, it was pure status quo protectionism … precisely the sort of herd mentality that’s landed this nation in such dire straits.
“I will not make the pledge at this time,” Trump said, joking “if I am the nominee I pledge not to run as an independent.”
Fox’s hosts weren’t in a joking mood, though. A visibly irritated Bair interrupted Trump – reminding him he was standing on a “Republican” stage.
Really? What’s that worth again?
In attempting to respond to Bair, Trump was cut short by U.S. Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, whose free-falling bid has apparently concluded its best bet is to join the forces opposing “The Donald.”
“He buys and sells politicians – he’s already hedging his bets,” Paul hissed at Trump.
Next up was Kelly, who derided Trump for making comments referring to women as “fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals.”
“Only Rosie O’Donnell!” Trump joked, adding on a more serious note that “I don’t have time for political correctness.”
Kelly wouldn’t let it go, contemptuously telling Trump his sexism “went well beyond Rosie O’Donnell.”
“Honestly Megyn, if you don’t like it, I’m sorry,” Trump said. “I’ve been very nice to you although I could probably maybe not be based on the way you have treated me. But I wouldn’t do that.”
Later in the debate it was Wallace’s turn to take on Trump, and he did – ripping him for the fact his companies have declared bankruptcy on four different occasions.
“I’ve taken advantage of the laws – and so has everyone else in my position,” Trump responded, telling Wallace “these lenders aren’t babies, Chris, those lenders are total killers!”
The crowd – which had been lukewarm toward Trump for most of the evening – erupted in applause.
“I’ve built a net worth of ten billion dollars,” Trump added. “I employ thousands of people.”
Wallace also sought to make Trump look bad on the issue of immigration – which it’s worth noting is only being discussed because of Trump’s presence in the race.
“If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t even be talking about illegal immigration,” he said.
Trump was later asked about his flip-flop on the issue of abortion and his inconsistency on health care – prompting another rebuke from Rand Paul.
But for the most part Trump’s rivals didn’t go after him … because they didn’t have to. Fox’s goal was simple: Bloody Trump so the other candidates didn’t have to – and didn’t have to risk alienating Trump’s growing following by attacking him.
Did they succeed? We’ll have to find out …
Trump’s thoughts on the debate?
“I thought their questions to me were much tougher than to other people, and I respect that, but I really enjoyed the evening,” he said. “The questions to me were far tougher, and that I supposedly – according to what everyone is telling me, and the call-ins and everything, I won. But the questions to me were not nice. I didn’t think they were appropriate. And I thought Megyn behaved very badly, personally.”
As we’ve said before, Trump does have a lot to answer for. As he admitted during the debate many of his positions – especially his views on abortion – have evolved over time. And while this website has praised his candidacy for shaking up the status quo, we’re not in ideological alignment with him 100 percent of the time.
Having said that, it’s obvious at this point Trump represents a clear and present danger to the “Republicrat” establishment in Washington, D.C. And that establishment is becoming increasingly aggressive in its efforts to neutralize the threat.

Trump sounds like Obama when the questions get tough.
Completely disagree that they only targeted Trump. I watched the earlier debate as well and they took (cheap) shots at those candidates as well. It appeared to me that they were trying to impress their media competition by saying hey, look at us, we can be turds too. They took shots at almost everyone — Trump just got the biggest headlines because he’s the leader.

ALL of the candidates got at least one hardball question, but ALL of Trumps questions were hardball, and intended to raise his negatives. FOX definitely had an agenda. Time will tell how effective that was in hurting him. His supporters may see through it.
This morning the Fox and Friend’s narrative is that Rubio won. He had a good night but so did Cruz, Huckabee and some others. Bush did not stand out at all and Walker was overshadowed somewhat by the others. Carson had some good moments but he is too soft-spoken for his own good. Kasich benefited tremendously by having a home town crowd. If this had been in SC, he would have been booed for his Medicare and Gay Marriage answers.
In short, nobody struck out and no one had a home run.
BS. They had specific targets to kill, and Trump was at the top of the list. Fox has shown its true colors. They are in bed with the RINOS and the Koch Brothers.
Trump brought some of this upon himself. It’s not that he just has a lack of a filter(although he appears to be trying harder now), it’s that he didn’t “tell the truth” in a way that is tactful.
He can fix that.
However, the reality is that he should have expected this treatment. The GOP establishment demands supplication, & Trump just isn’t built that way.
They did the same thing to Ron Paul last cycle, who is clearly quite different from Rand Paul.
If you don’t hold key GOP establishment positions, the establishment will send it’s dogs after you, which include FOX news.
Trump should have seen this coming.
In the end though, if he can’t maintain his lead…he should definitely jump ship to the ONLY possible viable option for him to win…the Libertarian party nomination.
If the GOP establishment tanks him, not only will he sink their ship but he could actually pull off a third party win IMO.

At one point, after they made all the candidates walk out there and stand next to one another for like 5 minutes awkwardly, she’s like “I bet you guys want to say something to one another don’t you?” then she proceeded with another chuckle.
Like 2 minutes later, she says “I bet you guys are happy that Carla Fiornia isn’t up on stage with you because she opened a can earlier.”

The magic of Trump is that he isn’t painted into any corners… he’s demonstrated consistently the ability to listen, assess, decide and lead. Fox may well have been out to attack El Jefe last night, but it doesn’t matter. Trump represents 30% of the GOP voters who are in open rebellion. (Add in Cruz and Carson supporters and you’re at 40%) They are angry over what happened in the last 12 months. The moderators were tough on everybody. The difference is that Trump has no substance so he was unable to answer the questions. He always has to result to personal insults.
Trump is a street fighter. Back him into a corner and he will pull the switchblade. Some of these other Rep candidates need to follow suit. Bush is about as refreshing as John Mccain. The guy from Ohio will make someone a good vp candidate as he can deliver the state.
As I have been saying. The Republican Establishment and the Koch Brothers are desperate to eliminate Trump, and Fox news is on board. They all saw last night as their best shot to end his candidacy. The establishment hates Trump because he is a threat to their power. The Kochs hate Trump because they cannot buy him. So they have joined forces with Fox to attack him from all sides.
But lets look at the people they want.
The Establishment wants Bush. He is status quo in the Republican Party. The powers that are in control today will remain in power and we will have GWB third term.
The Kochs have bought and paid for Walker. They want him if they can get him; and if they can’t they want another candidate they can buy. If you want to know who those are, ask if they made the pilgrimage to California last week to kiss the feet of the Koch Brothers. What is the Koch agenda. They want to run this country for their benefit . They want a compliant obedient servant as President.
If you doubt any of this, Frank Luntz was making the rounds on the morning talk shows today saying Trump’s candidacy was over. What he did not disclose is that he has been hired by the Koch Brothers. He was a headline speaker at their California secret meeting and is advising them on getting their candidate elected. As always if you want t know the truth follow the money.
Can Trump overcome attacks from all sides. I think so. When he is given a chance to speak from the heart, people like what he has to say. They understand that he will do what he thinks is best for the country. Not what is best for the Republican establishment (RINOS) and not what is best for the Koch Brothers Empire.
