President Barack Obama
President Obama has the largest deficits, totaling $6.8 trillion projected for his eight years in office. Obama started off launching the $787 billion economic stimulus package that cut taxes, extended unemployment benefits, and funded job-creating public works projects. The Obama tax cut added $858 billion to the debt in its first two years. Most important was increased defense spending, which added as much as $800 billion a year. Federal income decreased due to lower tax receipts from the 2008 financial crisis.
Both Presidents Bush and Obama had to contend with higher mandatory spending for Social Security and Medicare than their predecessors did. That’s because health care costs were rising, and the American population was aging. In 2010, Obama launched the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to reduce the debt by $143 billion by 2020. President George W. Bush
President Bush is next, racking up $3.294 trillion over two terms. He responded to the attacks on 9/11 with the War on Terror, driving military spending to at least $600 billion a year. The Bush tax cuts, also known as EGTRRA and JGTRRA, cut taxes to address the 2001 recession. Unfortunately, the cuts did not sunset when the recession was over, adding to the housing boom and depleting revenues during the 2008 recession.
President Ronald Reagan
President Reagan added $1.412 trillion in deficits during his two terms. He fought the 1982 recession by cutting the top income tax rate from 70% to 28%, and the corporate rate from 48% to 34%. He also increased government spending by 2.5% a year. This included a 35% increase in the defense budget, and an expansion of Medicare. Although $1.412 trillion doesn’t sound like a lot, compared to 2012 debt levels, in fact Reagan’s economic policies nearly doubled the debt during his Presidency.
President George H.W. Bush
President George H.W. Bush racked up a $1.03 trillion deficit in one term. He responded to Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait with Desert Storm. He oversaw the $125 billion bailout to end the 1989 Savings and Loan crisis. Part of his deficit was due to lost tax revenue from the 1991 recession.
Although most other Presidents ran deficits, none comes close to these four.

When you IGNORE national security, it’s easy spend less, especially when you’ve got Newt knocking the living shit out of you, everytime you tried to Obama us (Bankrupt us.) That’s the only reason Clinton’s economy was not as bad. The GOP Congress ran that show.
And: Bush had to fight wars that Clinton was responsible for. And his spending was still paltry until the Democrat Congress took over.
And Reagan had Democrats in Congress to deal with, yet he was responsible, like Bush, for over overseeing an economy that was ROBUST, and generated revenues.

If a man can walk out on the woman he swore before God and family to cherish and support, while the four boys who love him more than life stood by in heartbreak, why in the world would he care about some jockeying, small-minded politicos in the din of whores known as Washington?
According to a passage in Swaim’s book, Sanford would naturally relish the attention of good press but he also got off on the attention from the bad press of 2008-2009. All that centrality and drama is a win-win for Sanford. He can spin it through his cycling of rage, charm, and pity to good effect. Typical behavior when dealing with Narcissist Personality Disorder.
That makes 2 congressional offices that are not taken seriously. Joe Wilson’s staff is a bunch of hopeless lightweights with no clout who are also not taken seriously. His DC office avoids any interaction on anything except capitol tours. The District office led by that idiot Butch Wallace is a real joke. They lie and make promises of help and then good luck ever hearing from them again. It’s always someone else’s fault that a constitutent can’t get help, or if helping one constituent may piss off another then Wilson is nowhere to be found. BTW, Wilson has received NO federal funding for roads and don’t forget he gave away the money that was available years ago for bypass. In retrospect, Wilson’s office is a bunch of worthless slugs.
