PATAKI: PRESIDENT MUST “RESPECT AMERICAN SOVEREIGNTY”
|| By FITSNEWS || Former New York governor George Pataki is blasting president Barack Obama for taking his heavily criticized nuclear deal with Iran to the United Nations before it is approved by the U.S. Congress.
“Bringing this treaty to the United Nations before Congress has an opportunity to review it is a breach of faith, a violation of legislative intent, a usurpation of congressional authority and a real compromise to American sovereignty,” Pataki said. “I urge the President to reconsider.”
If approved by the UN Security Council, the deal would be considered international law.
Pataki – one of the more liberal “Republicans” running for president in 2016 – has aggressively criticized Obama on the Iran deal. So has the rest of the GOP field. Of course stopping the deal will prove exceeding difficult thanks to … wait for it … “Republican” capitulation.
Well … unless …
We don’t often agree with Pataki but he’s correct on this count. He’s also correct on the broader issue of Obama’s contempt for “the appropriate oversight role of Congress.”
Of course the GOP has been laying down for Obama for so long (most recently on his crony capitalist trade deal) … what do they expect?
Americans elected “Republicans” in 2010 and 2014 because they were told the GOP would stand up to Obama overreach. We’re still waiting for that to happen …
Bottom line? Congress needs to show some balls. For once.

I’m no Obama fan, but urge he may … Rip? That’s pretty strong words from a losing side. I philosophically disagree with Obama policies, but there is some common ground. I know it isn’t popular to admit that, and I become fodder for assessing both sides. Does anyone else have a better plan? Why hasn’t that been passed. Notice it will only be passed with UN Security Council approval.
I used to fly a lot — hated flying. A guy next to me hated it even worse — he stole my seat! He apologized AFTER the flight and then explained his fear of flying. He said something I will never forget, that a friend said to him, “see that pilot up in front of the plane? That guy wants to live too.”

There’s nothing funny about that. You incorrectly assume, I don’t have a clue about the marines who died at the hands of terrorist. I do. Obama didn’t do that, just as Bush didn’t order planes of destruction for 9/11.

I’ll go more slowly, you said an airline pilot wants to live, I agree, I said Iran/Islamic Radicals couldn’t give a crap about their own destruction as long as they are taking Israel/non-Muslims out, their stated, official, goal as a government and their brand of the religion. That was the one saving grace we enjoyed during the cold war with Russia, mutually assured destruction. Are there many,many Iranians who don’t want to kill all non-Muslims, especially Jews? Yes, you betcha, but unfortunately the nut jobs are in the driver seat. Obama has destroyed the mechanism to foster more moderate governance (the sanctions) and refused to help the dissidents, slamming the door on possible regime change. What you state about other religions is true as a minority, not a majority. Hey, it would not bode well for me to be POTUS cuz I’d nuke the hell out of all of them that made any effort to injure the underdog – that is one a minor reason I don’t run for POTUS – the other – damn they age horribly!

White I detest Obama policies to a large degree, Obama basically apologized to the entire freaking world in hopes of making peace. When it couldn’t be make, he did the right things, for the most part.
