PRESIDENT SNIPES AT REPORTER: “YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER”
|| By FITSNEWS || U.S. president Barack Obama got a little testy this week when a national reporter dared to question part of his recently concluded nuclear dear with Iran (you know, the deal “Republicans” in Congress have already caved on).
For the record, we don’t especially care about this issue because – unlike the federal government – we don’t jump when Israel says “how high.”
Still, it’s a big deal to a lot of people (and it’s going to be a big deal on the 2016 campaign trail) … and we oppose the agreement for the simple reason that it’s going to cost U.S. taxpayers money.
Anyway, during a rare news conference this week Obama was questioned by CBS reporter Major Garrett about one particular component of the negotiations – namely his failure to secure the release of four Americans currently being held in Iran.
“As you well know, there are four Americans in Iran, three held on trumped-up charges, according to your administration, one whereabouts unknown,” Garrett said. “Can you tell the country, Sir, why you are content with all the fanfare around this deal to leave the conscience of this nation and the strength of this nation unaccounted for in relation to these four Americans?”
Obama bristled …
“I gotta give you credit, Major, for how you craft those questions,” he responded. “The notion that I’m content as I celebrate with American citizens languishing in Iranian jails. Major, that’s nonsense and you should know better.”
Actually, Garrett is just doing his job. Obama is the one who should have known better than to cut a weak deal that included leaving those Americans “languishing.”
Again, we’ve never bought into the Iran scaremongering. Nor do we especially give a damn what happens to Israel – a nation which, to borrow a line from Aaron Sorkin, “rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom (U.S. taxpayers) provide, and then questions the manner in which (they) provide it.”
Like, always.
But whatever you think of Iran, Obama’s “deal” clearly fell short on a wide array of fronts (including its failure to secure the release of these prisoners). And judging by his snippy response to this reporter, Obama knows it.

Iran didn’t get Guantanamo emptied of those held on trumped-up charges either. And a lot more than four.
America doesn’t hold people on trumped-up charges. That would imply America is doing something wrong. America never does anything wrong. We are perfect in every way.
In a couple years “trumped up charges” may have a whole new meaning. Wonder what The Donald will appoint USAG?

America has become a Nation without a rudder. Their is a Charade going on the the Criminal Just-Us System in America. It goes on from the lowest to the highest ranking court and also to our Federal Government.I see now the FBI is apologizing for Dylan Root being able to buy a gun.They have made every detail and apology possible in the case but you hear nothing about Miriam Carey or Kate Steinle. Miriam was shot numerous time in DC by DC and Capitol Police. Kate Steinle was shot by a pistol that belonged to a Federal Agent. America indeed has a Criminal Just-US System and it is run by a select few and propagandized the way they see fit. They still hide what they wish and the Media in America is complicit.
There interesting thing is, no one is actually asking WHY there are prisoners in Iran.
Of the four, one is a former FBI agent that was working for the CIA, one a former Marine, one an Iranian born minister, & a Washington Post reporter.
ALL were charged with some form of espionage/national security related crimes.
Could it possibly be that our government knows they are guilty? Is that on anyone’s radar?
Or is it simply, “Well, they’re Iran…they deserve whatever they get from us.”?

It was a loaded question, crafted to be embarrassing, and Garrett should have known better. Probably a technique he learned at Fox News. He has no idea what’s going on behind the scenes and Obama shouldn’t discuss it.
What’s embarassing is this president figured out a way to trade 5 Taliban killers for 1 known deserter, whose desertion directly led to a half-dozen U.S. deaths, but could not figure out a way to free 4 Americans despite EVERYTHING it gave up in this capitulation. That’s embarassing.
How do you know what’s going on? Maybe negotiations right now? Such matters usually aren’t public.
The POTUS clearly said the hostages were not on the table. Why wouldn’t they be? Wouldn’t that be a pretty obvious goal on our part, which Garrett pointed out? But then again, you do have a point. The POTUS may have been lying, which he has done very effectively for 7 years now. What he says, just believe the opposite for the truth. So who knows…maybe there are negotiations and maybe they will be released and we will actually get something out of this “deal.”

Yes it was a loaded question and it’s not like other Presidents haven’t been asked loaded questions. The President should have known better because his retort to Garrett became the talk of his news conference. I’ll bet now he wishes he had acted more Presidential.
Bush was attacked like that several times a press conference. It may be the first time in years, Obama has been challenged at all. Obama is such a lightweight, and an immature A-hole.
