Ronald Reagan did what he was told not to do—to go to the “rust bucket” states and talk immigration to the Unions. He was successful and won most of those states and the election.
He was open, honest and forthright, and told them how cheap immigrant labor would kill their opportunities. He celebrated the value of their work. He was positive.

American elections have become about process and messaging, not about problems and solutions. If the GOP continues to play that game we will lose. The lens is provided by the media and they vote dem.

One reason I lie Trump is that the establishment of both parties hates him. If elected he will take them to the woodshed while all the rest of candidates would be wining and dining them and helping them fleece this country.

Leaving the clown Trump out of it, there is class warfare in the Republican party, but I don’t think it has anything to do with a “professional” class. (What social class is that?) The rift is between the Big Business establishment and working class, socially conservative Republicans. You could see that rift in Nikki Haley’s sudden embrace of taking down the flag. You can see it on Gay Marriage and immigration.
The irony is that Trump is 100% a member of the Big Business class. He’s making a parody of the process of pandering to social conservatives, which is really funny to watch.
The GOP base is simply too dumb to figure out that they are totally manipulated and misused by the big money boys. They are allowed to hate and complain, but not to make any decisions.

I have been saying for a long time that what the USA needs is a “kick ass businessman”. Trump seems to be rising to that. He is saying what the producing people of America have been saying all along. We see our jobs going everywhere except where we work. We see the various parasite classes rewarded while we get stuck with the bill for their largesse . We see our cultural and spiritual foundations pushed aside for PC. It looks like we have a few things to be PO’ed about. Trump has the fortitude to take a definitive stand. The establishment will try anything to quiet him down. The people of America need to come together, all races, all societal levels, all religious beliefs ,and be AMERICANS again. Let’s give Trump a chance. He might just be on to something..
The Republican Party could win elections into the next century if it would become more pro-environment and become pro-American worker (which would mean less immigration and less globalization). If it shifted to these two areas and retained some semblance of fiscal conservatism and anti-social programs, it would capture millions of new votes. Unfortubately, it’ll never happen as the GOP has sold its soul to the oil companies and the globalization crony capitalist crowd.
