According to this week’s Economist/YouGov poll, the new frontrunner for the “Republican” presidential nomination is none other than … “The Donald.”
Billionaire real estate mogul Donald Trump is the first choice of 15 percent of registered GOP voters nationwide – ahead of libertarian leaning U.S. Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky and establishment favorite Jeb Bush, both of whom registered 11 percent support.

“Trump looks even better as a candidate this week when Republicans are asked for their second choice,” YouGov’s pollsters noted. “When they are, Trump extends his lead. One in four Republicans who are registered to vote say he is their first or second choice.”

For me, it is fun, I won’t do it unless I can’t handle it and I hope the opposition that starts the name calling also understands. I once supported TP. I liked their platform. I was looking for something different. I too make mistakes. They are too hard right for me. I understand why they are, they were trying to bring things back to the center. I also formed the opinion, many lost their way. It became more about personal power and political capital. That is my opinion.
I ditched the Tea Party several years ago. Their are still some good in the Tea Party, some true patriots. While I struggle to mention a single name – one does come to mind: Janet Spencer. She may not approve of me using her name, but she is one of a very few in the TP I had respect for from the beginning til the end of my TP journey. Someone with integrity. I still hold her in high regard and respect her contributions. No idea what she is doing today, but I wish her well.
