GOP FRONTRUNNER MAKES FIRST PALMETTO STATE SWING AS 2016 CANDIDATE
|| By FITSNEWS || Wisconsin governor Scott Walker will travel to Mauldin, S.C. for a meet and greet next week – part of his first visit to the early-voting Palmetto State as an announced presidential candidate.
Walker – who formally kicks of his 2016 presidential bid next Monday – will meet supporters at Mutt’s Barbecue (214 East Butler Road) in Mauldin next Wednesday, July 15 beginning at 1:45 p.m. EDT.
(For more info on the event, click here).
Walker’s Palmetto State swing next Wednesday will also include a coffee and doughnuts event at 7:30 a.m. EDT at the Lowcountry Harley-Davidson (4707 Dorchester Road) in North Charleston, S.C.
(For more info on that event, click here).
He’ll also stop by Hudson’s Smokehouse (4952 Sunset Boulevard) – one of our founding editor’s favorite barbecue joints – in Lexington, S.C. at 10:45 a.m. EDT.
(For more info on that event, click here).
Along with former Florida governor Jeb Bush, Walker is one of the early favorites to win the “First in the South” presidential primary – and many Palmetto politicos believe he has the inside track on getting an endorsement from the state’s “Republican” governor, Nikki Haley.
Walker built his national profile by battling Big Labor – which is likely to play very well in South Carolina.
Yet to be determined? Whether he’s a consistent pro-free market, pro-liberty GOP candidate … or just another status quo hack.
Guess we’ll find out soon …

Now we are getting somewhere. Young , energetic, conservative, proven governor .Stands up to unions like Reagan . Turned Wis. from deficit to surplus through tough management. This is the guy we have been waiting for. Get on board or get out of the way.
His performance as Governor, with all the distractions and contempt from the left, was very good.
Oh yeah, bring up the tired old ghost of that phoney Reagan why don’t you?
Be sure to have plenty if tissue paper when you do get to meet him. You’re going to need it to clean that brown off your nose……………..
Think what you want, The way Reagan handled the air traffic controller’s union set the tone for his tenure as POTUS. “This guy don’t take no shit”. It played out world wide. The mice knew there was a big cat in the USA and acted accordingly. .
And the way he balanced the budget was astounding. Oh, wait…….
Yeah, till the PLA kicked our asses out of Lebanon……..
First time the old fool got his nose bloodied he cut and ran (not to mention leaving approximately 300 US military deaths unavenged in Beirut…)
Reagan picked the fights he knew he could win…plain and simple
Now remember Walker, when we tell you to jump, you ask how high, or we’ll throw your bum ass out of our events like we did Jindal.
If you think Hudson’s smokehouse is good barbecue then you need to stick to discussing politics and kissing Thomas Ravenel’s ass. That place is average at best – Mutt’s in east Mauldin blows it away, and Mutt’s isn’t half as good as Bucky’s in Greenville.
Perhaps after kissing T-Rav’s buttocks, Hudson’s is a refreshing reprieve?
must agree. i was unimpressed with hudsons after looking forward to a visit for years. discovered True BBQ in west columbia recently holy smoke! the rice and hash alone makes it best i’ve ever seen. and don’t put any sauce on the bbq, just eat it naked.
I always chuckle at the “best BBQ” debates as the arguments are fairly subjective, at best. That said, I do enjoy a good recommendation and will gladly throw my hat in the ring for believing the “best BBQ” joint I’ve been to is none other than Hites in West Columbia
http://hitesbbq.com/
Not much to look at, and only open on Fri/Sat. But if you are in the Columbia area, you must give it a try.
BTW, I think it was on this site’s comment thread that I read someone’s recommendation about the mexican food truck closely located to that Hite’s building. I ended up trying the food truck a few days later and was very impressed. Great recommendation, whoever provided that!
I think 9″ was the one who recommended that.
Henry’s Smokehouse on Wade Hampton Blvd in Greenville is superior to both of those.
anyone who can unite both koch brothers is truly the GOPs hope for america.
What’s he going to do?
Get some sleep?
Ha, how much was the ad buy requirement for you to use the word “frontrunner”? I smell $pin.
Keep him the hell away from Greenville!
Battling “Big Labor”?????
WTF????
There AIN”T no “Big Labor” in this state…the non-existent threat of “Big Labor” has been the rallying cry for paranoid South Carolinian conservatives for years…..
You can count on them sucking off that tired old teat for sure
87$/hour I looked at the draft which said $9958@mk11

You can be sure Ms. Karen Walker (Queen of the Spartanburg Tea Party) will be there to greet him.
It don’t matter none. He’s a flag taker-downer. Trump. Trump. Trump.
That’s not a very flattering picture of Gov. Walker
Looks like he has a “lazy eye”
Kinda/sorta resembles Mel Brooks when he was playing a governor in “Blazing Saddles”
