|| By FITSNEWS || Billionaire mogul/ presidential candidate Donald Trump‘s war with Spanish-language network Univision has escalated. Trump filed a $500 million lawsuit against the network this week – alleging it is in violation of its agreement to broadcast the upcoming Miss USA pageant scheduled to take place in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on July 12, 2015.
Trump is a co-owner of the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
Univision canned the pageant after Trump made controversial comments regarding illegal immigrants during a campaign speech earlier this month.
“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best,” Trump said. “They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
A Univision executive – Alberto Ciurana – responded by likening Trump to 21-year-old white supremacist Dylann Storm Roof, the confessed perpetrator of last week’s “Holy City Massacre” in which nine black South Carolinians were murdered in their place of worship.
Trump has refused to apologize for his comments – and has used the issue to burnish his anti-immigration credentials as he seeks the 2016 “Republican” presidential nomination.
Trump has also used the dust-up to highlight his opposition to crony capitalist trade deals like the one recently pushed through Congress by “Republican” leaders.
“Nothing that I stated was different from what I have been saying for many years. I want strong borders, and I do not support or condone illegal immigration,” Trump said in a statement accompanying his suit. “There is a high level of crime occurring in this country due to unchecked illegal immigration. This is a major security issue for the United States. Additionally, the terrible trade deals our government is routinely entering into with Mexico are causing great financial harm to our country. We are losing a huge number of jobs, manufacturing opportunities and money due to poorly negotiated trade deals, a fact that indisputable. That won’t happen if I become president – this disturbing trend will end and it will end quickly.”
Earlier this week, NBC Universal parted ways with Trump over his comments.

I don’t discount everything Donald Trump says or does, occasionally he has some brilliant idea — like exploiting pretty girls for personal gain. Hey – it is capitalism, albeit, the most crony of the core.
When he wants to talk about bringing drugs, bringing crime — one needs to take a closer look at WHO is allowed into the country. They need money. So in theory, based on my small sampling, the only people allowed illegally in the country have drugs. Talk to real people from Mexico and outer lying lands. Most cannot immigrate here legally because they don’t have the money. They don’t come from families of Kingdom. They can barely speak English, if at all. The illegals are the ones I prefer to keep, ship the rest of the drug lords back where they came from.
Sure you can argue all day long they broke law. Yet, you will applaud those like Snowden. Really?

Trump sued Bill Maher a couple of years ago and ending up dropping that ridiculous lawsuit.
Maher has been a lot more timid lately. Seems Trump may have put the fear of God in that atheist creep. I just hope it cost Maher millions. Take the money from the greedy left, and you will shut them up. That’s really all you care about.

Maher used the exact orangutan joke the other day and bashed Trump, so don’t think he is scared. Trump is thin-skinned and these lawsuits are all about the headlines. Give Trump credit for being a showman. But as a Republican presidential candidate, who has flip-flopped on the issues and donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the likes of Kerry, Rangel, Kennedy, and Hillary (gasp!), he will crash and burn. It will be fun to watch, and that’s all he wants.

No but we know that there was a contract because that is the standard course of business. There was no mention of an opt out clause that applied when the announcement was made that they were opting out. The attorneys that filed the suit have read the contract.

The reason we’re losing is not because of Mexicos low wages. It’s because many of our companies think of only the US market (4.6% of the world’s population). Mexico can send it’s manufactures tarriff free to all North America, the European Union and after TPP the Pacific rim.
