THIS IS … RIDICULOUS
|| By FITSNEWS || This website has said little in defense of the Confederate flag in the aftermath of last week’s horrific, racially motivated massacre in downtown Charleston, S.C.
But the news out of North Charleston, S.C. that a police officer has been fired for posing on Facebook in a pair of Confederate flag boxer shorts strikes us as … well, ridiculous. According to the North Charleston police department, though, officer Shannon Dildine deserved to lose his job over posting this image …

According to North Charleston police chief Eddie Driggers, Dildine’s “X marks the spot” social media centerfold undermined the officer’s “ability to improve trust and instill confidence when working with our citizens.”
“Your posting in this manner led to you being publicly identified as a North Charleston Police officer and associated both you and the Department with an image that symbolizes hate and oppression to a significant portion of the citizens we are sworn to serve,” Driggers wrote in a letter to Dildine, according to WCIV TV 4 (ABC – Charleston, S.C.).
Really?
We get that these are trying times. And no media outlet in South Carolina has been more aggressive in calling for the flag to come down in the aftermath of last week’s shooting than this one.
But this is just silly.
Assuming Dildine posted this image on his own time using his own resources – and the picture was not accompanied by any racist or threatening language – then we see no reason why he should lose his job.

Just when you think things can’t possibly get anymore crazy.
Feel sorry for all those fools with confederate flag tattoos. No job for you.
I’ll remove their tattoos… for free!
Those jackasses shoukd keep them. For heritage or whatever.
Even better yet… “wanna know how I got these scars?”
we know the story…from that time you tossed a pitbulls salad.
A girl goes up to a guy in a club and says, “I haven’t had a cock for nearly two weeks now.”
He asks her back to his place and they
started fooling around.
They got undressed, and that was when he noticed that she still had the scars from the operation.
They’ll look better with the scars when I remove them… real badass.
Blacks spent years to free themselves from the
chains of slavery. Blood was spilt, lives were lost, millions were displaced,
and the scars will last for generations.
So what do they do now they are free? They wear the biggest damned chains they
can find!
Yeah, but they are removable, and made of gold.
If I remember later I’ll tell lyou about gold chains — but got to leave now….
what about removing yourself from existence?
Now, time to get to work on the memorials, streets, schools, etc. named for racist traitors. This is only the start. We have much work to do.
This just in: ‘covering up confederate flag tattoo ‘now the fastest growing sector of the southern economy. Details developing…..
He should be fired, not for wearing or having them, but for being an idiot by actually posting on Facebook.
Shannon “Dildo” Dildine
it’s just part of the panic, paranoia and hysteria…..
Does this mean I should put away my “Mickey Mouse” underwear because it is an insult to Obama?
“If You Have Them You Can Wear Them!” Don’t give in, Erneba, not only will I not give in but I’m going to be defiant!
I refuse to abandon my Joe Boxer boxers, you know the ones that are black with bright orange twisted flames with the red borders; — and my Warner Bros. red and black Superman boxers with the Superman logo, and on the elastic band is written” DON’T MESS WITH THE [Superman logo]”
Wow! I would finally grow up and buy some boxers if I could get the Mickey Mouse version.
Is it OK if I take my underwear off when having sex? I might try that one day.
hmmm, there’s a joke for ya’ that’s floating around in my head like a misty vapor but I can’t get it to focus — it’s one that hasn’t been used for about five years..???
Looks like it’s flying on a short flagpole
Ha! +1 for funny
You’re a little flabby there, pardner’ ‘……
Shannon Dildine’s favorite pick-up line:
“If you don’t like my Confederate flag boxers, how about a Union Jack?”
how about a union, jack?
Someone stop the bus and let my son, Jack, off.
This quote was in the story I read:
“It also said that the move undermined the sergeant’s ability to handle criminal cases in which minorities were involved “since defense counsel can reasonably be expected to use the photograph to call into question the [sic] your motivation in making the arrest…”
Given that we are finding out about more and more situations where the cop’s reasons for stopping someone are based anything but probable cause, I think this guy pretty much has opened himself and his department up to challenges almost every time he arrests a minority. I don’t see how his employer had a choice on this one.
He shouldn’t be fired, but should be required to be ‘commando’ when on duty.
I say we force the sons of confederate veterans to publish lists of all their members. Anyone who’s a cop should immediately be fired from their job because it opens them up to being cross examined that the only reason they pulled someone over was because they were a racist.
I say we infiltrate.
Yea! Maybe they can find out how China obtained classified Intel on millions of Gruberment
workers…by infiltrating that dastardly Sons of Confederate Veterans group…that’s clearly priority numero uno!
Yeah, the fbi needs to spy on all groups that aren’t popular at the moment. That’s probably constitutional.”
-Richard Nixon circa 1973
So in the aftermath of the comments publically made by the leader of the new black panther party, Shabazz (who called for death of all whites) he on his microphone was showing off the colors red, yellow and green in support of the African flag colors. By your own answer and logic you would have to fire any person of color who has or red, yellow and green undies, bumper stickers, the flag itself, or anything posted on social media with those colors or the flag, as it could also be used in court against him for a reason to pull a white person. That is the exact same thing you just said in reverse so if one is true, the other has to be by default. Both are BS, but according to you both are true. And before you go all postal over that, actually think about what it says, and understand in no way do I support the confederate flag, and think this cop was an idiot to post that, but no he shouldn’t have gotten fired for it. I am sure his lawyer is working o one hell of a wrongful termination suit (based on the reasons I said) and will win it if even 1 black cop is posted with the African flag anywhere on social media and hasn’t also been fired. I mean Shabazz made those colors all about hate didn’t he?
Do red, yellow, green flags or undies have a 100+ years documented association with crimes of terror?
If so – and, maybe if not – then the black cop who flies or wears them and displays them all over the internets should expect his employer to feel that he has just thrown his effectiveness regarding arrests of white criminals that lead to convictions in the toilet, too.
Or, if he is a sgt., like this white cop, and may supervise black cops who might feel he will not give them a fair shake come evaluation time, that may put his job in jeopardy, too. An employee who is nothing but a problem for his employer may end up unemployed.
Even more, I don’t understand why employees don’t understand that their employer – public or private – can fire them for a variety of things they may do away from the workplace that the employer thinks makes the employer look bad…if they are stupid enough to make those deeds public.
Did those kinds of ‘rules’ of work life change just because the Confederate flag or a cop is involved?
This is a right to work state. Do you really want the boss man not to do whatever he wants with his workers?
People used to stop and ask themselves “will I lose my job if my boss finds out about this”? Many appear to have lost the judgment to stop and think about that before they act on their impulses.
I guess that’s why Google Gmail has just added an ‘unsend’ feature to give you time to get good sense.
Is wearing a shit stained confederate flag glorifying it or mocking it?
” horrific, racially motivated massacre in downtown Charleston”
Is it any more horrific than you’re repeated use of this phrase? Will writes it in every fucking article.
How would you describe it, professor?
is there a non horrific massacre? Seems that the use of horrific with massacre is redundant.
It is like Folks use of “government-run”.
It’s interesting that Fits is super libertarian, yet seems to support thought police firing anyone from buying, liking, or owning anything related to the confederate flag-even historically related items. See apple’s removal of games about the civil war because the confederate flag appears in them.
Amazing how fast that thing is being erased from mainstream culture. Good riddance.
(Thinks Erasing confederate flag from historically based things is good idea)
Cousin Judge alerted my to this story—- posted here w/o comment:
Suppose, instead, he were wearing a tee shirt with a little confederate flag on the front pocket. Or suppose he had a confederate flag hanging over his mantel for decoration. Where does freedom of speech start and stop?
The Thought Police strike again! (One would think that adorning one’s hinter parts with a flag would resemble more desecration rather than glorification)
So…Will Folks want to join RINOs Joe Wilson and Haley in
savaging Southern culture too
But hey—both hypocrites Joe & Nikki will get UNelected soon,
and…Will—so will you !!!
Nikki won’t be getting “unelected.” She’ll be terming out because she’s already won her two shots at the guv slot.
General Robert E. Lee wanted the flag furled for good. He knew it belonged in a museum. He was a great general, and a great and honorable human being. Why so many who say they are upholding “Southern culture” dishonor him in so many ways is beyond me.
Not saying that the use of the flag by this clown is “unfurling” it. Flaunting it stupidly and pointlessly, is more like it.
I don’t know about the termination part, but there is a judgement issue here – what part of this did he think was a good idea, especially in light of the fact that he’s a North Chuck cop?! I’m not sure he needs a gun AND a license from the governor to shoot people if required…
North Charleston fucked themselves this time. “‘Redneck’ School Bus Driver Wins Federal Ruling To Fly Confederate Flag” …. “Man Wins Case After Firing Over Confederate Flag” … “Jul 14, 2014 · … for a customized Texas license plate featuring the Confederate … Wins Appeals Case Allowing Confederate Flag License … ” …. Black College Student Wins Fight to Display Confederate Flag … ” … US Supreme Ct rules 1st Amendment right to display confederate flag.”
Heheheheheheh.
You said “crack down” and “underwear.”
I don’t think he should have lost his job, either. Overkill.
