FOX COMMENTATOR CALLS FOR RAP MUSIC TO BE BANNED ALONG WITH CONFEDERATE FLAG
|| By FITSNEWS || We don’t watch Fox News. So we’re not part of the cult of Sean Hannity, the 53-year-old commentator for the network.
Nor do we listen to Hannity’s radio show, so we have no idea what he says on a daily basis.
Some people do, though. And they forwarded us his recent comments on the retail boycott of the Confederate flag in the aftermath of last week’s horrific, racially motivated church shooting in Charleston, S.C.
According to Hannity, if the Confederate flag is going to be boycotted by mega vendors such as Apple, Amazon, E-Bay, Target and Walmart – then those same corporations should also boycott rap music.
“A lot of the music by those artists is chock full of the n-word and the b-word and the h-word, and racist, misogynist, sexist anti-woman slurs none of those retail executes would be caught dead using,” Hannity said. “If it’s OK for Obama’s teenage daughters and people to go into these stores and buy music chock-full of the n-word, the b-word, well maybe we should consider banning that too.”
Hannity also confesses during his rant to not understanding Prince’s music.
“I’m not a big Prince fan,” he said. “I don’t get it, frankly. I listen to his music I’m like, ‘that’s it?’ I don’t get it.”

I think Hannity’s point should be looked at – if we are to ban all confederate items, change the names of buildings, streets and get rid of confederate monuments because of their history of hate towards blacks, then we should ban Louis Farrakhan and NOI items, censor their hate speech along with the New Black Panthers, treat them as hate groups just like the KKK, Aryan Nations, etc and especially ban Rap music with it’s anti white, anti police, anti woman, and occasional anti LGBT lyrics. This is not really that surprising. His audience is Republican, heavy on the Teapublican, and probably disproportionately southern. Not exactly minority friendly. And if there is any question about the average age of his listeners, the last time i listened to his radio show, his major advertisers were Hoveround, Cialis, and Home Oxygen.
I believe his point is that if we are going to remove the Confederate Flag because some people find it racially offensive and divisive then we should remove other things that people find racially offensive and divisive. Rap Music with it’s glamorization of gang life, racial overtones, calls for violent social uprising, and constant use of racial slurs like the word “nigga” easily fits into that category.
I could care less whether or not the Confederate Flag flies at the State House but I do care about making sure that all races are treated equally and held to the same standard. People of any race can be racist.
