IS IT UNITING … OR DIVIDING?
|| By FITSNEWS || Last week’s horrific, racially motivated church shooting in Charleston, S.C. has spawned torrents of reaction – from friends and family members of the victims, the confessed killer, media, politicians, church leaders, business leaders, etc.
And, well, you.
Social media has erupted in the aftermath of the “Holy City Massacre,” with tens of thousands – if not hundreds of thousands – of entries devoted to (or referencing) the tragedy which unfolded at the Mother Emanuel AME Church last Wednesday evening. People have mourned, prayed, blamed, opined and speculated. They’ve also debated dozens of different issues: Racism, religion, drug use, mental illness, capital punishment, guns and yes … the symbols embraced by the killer.
It’s been an overload of opinion … and in many cases, it’s been too much.
We’ve spoken with countless people who tell us they’ve “de-friended” or “unfollowed” certain people on various social media platforms in the aftermath of the tragedy.
Which leads us to our question(s) …

And perhaps the most important question …

I thought social media after the Walter Scott murder was far worse. I had so many “friends” (mainly folks from high school) defending the cop even after the video came out. The church shooting is such a terrible tragedy that I think it brings people together, at least temporarily.
Lol at the guy who can’t have friends that disagree with him.
Lol at the guy who keeps friends who whitewash murder.
(he typed, proudly, beaming from ear to ear at his moral superiority, hoping his internet white knighting would, for the moment, suppress his deep, deep feeling of aloneness)

Really?…… Why?
#1 — it’s a good round number
#2 — on Fitsnews replies and comments may not make sense because of later postings that then put them out of order and out of context. Sometimes I have inserted a comment so that it appears that the person’s post immediately after agrees with mine. And I’m sure that other folks have done it to mine — but for opposite reasons. Fitsnews is fun!
“white knighting” = rabid misogynist and rape-denier code talk for men who support women against “slut-shaming” and hateful testosterone-poisoned assholes in general.
Ironic to use it in this context, though.
Exactly. And Isaiah 1:18’s reference of making your sins as white as snow- RACIST.
Hymn Jesus Paid it all based on that verse-RACIST
BAN ISAIAH 1:18 to a museum already.
So I’m guessing you got unfriended a lot. I kept my stupid “friends,” but it sounds like you weren’t so lucky.
(puts friends in quotation marks, gets mad when people say he has no friends)
Nah,like most people I can tell the difference between a Facebook friend who posts stupid stuff and the real friends I actually spend time with.
Yeah, I’ve weighted in for sure on social media.
Yes, I’ve de-friended people. (No close family or RL friends so far)
In spite of it all, I believe it has been a uniting element.
An overload of much opinion?
Like what, too many political blog postings?
NEVER. I’m a little PO’ed that Fits hasn’t given me an update on the thoughts the corn farmers Fits drove past last week whose crops were “looking rough” thought about the confederate flag. I want to know this story from EVERY angle.
Hey Will, why don’t you calculate how much each family and the church will profit from this shooting.
Here’s what I’ve tallied up so far:
– Obama has approved $29 million to be sent to the family members. “On the late afternoon of Friday June 19 the Obama Justice Department led by new Attorney General Loretta Lynch announced it will “fast track” $29 million to victim families of the June 17 shooting at the Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston South Carolina, Reuters reports. The exorbitant payout amounts to over $3.2 million per family.”

Why are taxpayers paying the victims of a murderer who has no government or military ties? Do all families of murder victims now get multi-million dollar payouts from the government?
– Charlotte Panther’s owner has agreed to pay for the funeral services, so there’s another $10,000 to each family.
– SCANA has agreed to donate $100,000 to the families and church
I’m sure that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
If this is true, more importantly why did the Commander-in-Chief shit on the Fort Hood victims?
Wrong demographic, same as with the other massacres. The Kenyan figured these people deserved 10x the amount given to the people in the Aurora theater, nearly 4x the amount given to the people injured or killed at the Boston Marathon, 4x the amount given to the families of the children killed or injured at Sandy Hook.
Plus, since it’s only split 9 ways, they all now can move out of the projects and into the blueblood section of town next to people like T-Rav.

Yes, I researched it and I find this to be disgusting. Private donations in the Billions for all I care but the public funds are not for this. Oh well, just crank up the press and spit out more soon to be worthless dollars. Why would anyone want to serve this Country?
I looked at the draft which said $9958@mk5
