Obamatrade: Another “Republican” Betrayal

GOP ADVANCES WHITE HOUSE’S CRONY CAPITALIST TRADE DEAL

|| By FITSNEWS || In the months since we first addressed president Barack Obama‘s effort to ram a crony capitalist trade deal through the U.S. Congress, this website has documented how the agreement would be bad for the American economy (see HERE and HERE) and especially bad for South Carolina (HERE and HERE).

We’ve also exposed several of the backdoor dangers of advancing such a deal (see HERE and HERE), ripped the secrecy surrounding its negotiations (HERE) and obliterated the myth that it in any way, shape or form represents “free trade” (HERE).

But the “Republican” leadership in Washington, D.C. – which like Obama is beholden to the same set of global financial interests who will reap the benefits of this secretive deal – ignored these realities.  And the so-called “conservative” South Carolina delegation did, too.

The result?  The first key component of “Obamatrade” – so-called “fast track” negotiating authority for Obama’s administration – is now headed to the White House for signature.  That means the U.S. Congress has surrendered its right to debate or amend any trade deal Obama strikes with Pacific Rim nations.  It also means Congress has given up any right to oversee the implementation of the deal after the fact.

It’s another waving of the white flag, in other words …

Among the Palmetto State’s elected representatives in Washington, only U.S. Rep. Jeff Duncan stood firm against this monstrosity.  U.S. Rep. Mick Mulvaney wound up voting the right way – but not before attempting to cut deals in exchange for his support.

Fiscally liberal “Republicans” Tom Rice and Joe Wilson did as expected and supported the measure … joined by so-called “conservatives” Mark Sanford and Trey Gowdy.

With Sanford selling out left and right since returning to Congress in 2013 his latest betrayal wasn’t terribly surprising … but Gowdy?

Sheesh …

In the U.S. Senate, both liberal Lindsey Graham and “conservative” Tim Scott cast votes to move the “fast track” component of Obamatrade to the floor for a vote.  That means no matter how they vote on the actual provision – they have procedurally advanced it.  Which is as good as voting for it.

Unreal …

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: What was the point of sending “Republicans” to Congress if all they do is bend over for Obama?

That’s a good question: One that needs to be put to these so-called “Republicans” in primary elections next fall.

This is why I feel like a citizen without representation. R’s and D’s are two sides of the same worthless coin.

And it is a dirty little penny with two left sides.

I always compare it to the WWE. You can cheer for the good guy or the bad guy, but the WWE collects all the money and those guys may swap places next week.

GOP/Republicans. On this issue there is no meaningful difference.

There is a meaningful difference, anything Republicans do is automatically right and anything Democrats do is automatically wrong. If Congress unanimously passed something it would be thanks to the Republicans and the Democrats fault! LMAO!!!

The burden of being a narcissist must be incredible. When you are the only one who knows the real deal and what’s REALLY going on. But, I guess at the end of the day when you look down and see that red “N” on your shirt, it makes it all worthwhile

For the umpteenth damn time:
Trey Gowdy does what is best for Trey Gowdy…………………………
But still some of you refused to believe me (and will continue to do so) when I said I’ve seen what he is really like when he is out of the public eye
Fools all !!!!!!!!!!!!!

This trade deal is patriotic and good for America because Republicans voted for it, but it is also anti-American and bad for America at the same time because Obama voted for it. Let’s blame Obama for all the bad things and congratulate Republicans on all the good things. Can we raise taxes too? LMAO!!!

Nonsensical gibberish. Perhaps you would like to try again?

Glad to see some bipartisanship in Washington. Hopefully, the SC GOP delegation can find some other issues to jointly support with Obama. Maybe they can chat about it after the funeral on Friday.

Obamatrade, I have not seem this much crap since I was fired from the position of “chief turd sorter” at the city sewage treatment plant down by the river. I did not take shit from anybody, I was the chief.
I agree, why send Republicans to Congress if they are going to vote like Democrats, they will make us look like another Greece, Italy, etc., as far as trade and economic viability.

Chief turd sorter. That sounds like the job description for this legislation. There were so many red flags with people that should have been for it against it and vice versa. I don’t see anything good for the American worker. Lots of good for the sweat shops in Asia. Obummer is packing the American worker down the tubes as fast as he can and the “Republicans” are helping. From what I can gather on the subject, Boner told our guys either vote for it or lose any seniority you have. Boner and McConnell are the problems.

Yeah, I don’t like this deal for American workers and our economy, I think both will suffer. And it seems that anything Obama is involved with has surprises that keep popping up. Examples are ObamaCare, immigration, foreign policy(ie Iran nuclear deal), etc., can’t trust him.

“It’s a great day in South Carolina” has been suspended to morn the tragedy in Charleston, but when that period is over, I will celebrate passage of TPA. It is a great victory for one of the top exporting states in the nation. A State whose exports have risen over 2000% since 1999. It is great for Charleston, one of the greatest ports in the nation.
