WISCONSIN GOVERNOR: “I SUPPORT HER DECISION”
|| By FITSNEWS || Wisconsin governor Scott Walker supports S.C. governor Nikki Haley‘s effort to get lawmakers in the Palmetto State to remove the Confederate flag from the S.C. State House grounds.
“I am glad (Haley) is calling for the Confederate flag to come down,” Walker tweeted. “I support her decision.”
Haley’s got plenty of support. In the aftermath of last week’s horrific, racially motivated shooting at the Mother Emanuel AME Church in downtown Charleston, S.C., it’s hard to find anyone who believes continuing to fly the flag is a good idea.
But like Haley, Walker hasn’t always had the most consistent position on the issue.
In fact according to this Huffington Post article, he was “against the Confederate flag, before he was okay with it, before he was against it again.”
Wait … what?
In 2000, while a member of the Wisconsin legislature, Walker voted for a resolution calling on South Carolina to “immediately stop flying the Confederate flag in an official capacity.”
Fast-forward to this week when Walker – like Haley – initially waffled on whether the flag should come down.
“The placement of a Confederate flag on the Capitol grounds is a state issue and I fully expect the leaders of South Carolina to debate this but the conversation should wait until after the families have had a chance to bury and mourn their loved ones,” Walker said in a statement to Buzzfeed.
Hmmm … that hardly sounds like Walker was “okay” with the flag, but whatever.
Huff Po’s Scott Conroy argues the real issue here is Walker’s perceived malleability as a candidate.
“Walker, who is expected to officially announce his White House run next month, has faced criticism for refusing to acknowledge instances in which he has changed his position on issues,” Conroy wrote. “Last month, he argued that his change of heart on immigration reform did not constitute a ‘flip,’ since as governor, he had never had to vote on the issue.”

I crossed Scott Walker off my list when he hired Kerry Woods as a consultant. Anyone that hires that scum can’t be my candidate.
What this says is that, at least until this week, if you planned to run as a GOP candidate for the presidency of the United States of America, you had to be prepared to pander to the racist and ignorant of their own history in the United States of America Confederates and everything they stood for.
It is stunning that Scott Walker was on the right side of this issue in 2000. Too bad he didn’t have the balls to stick with it.
Revise history. Rinse. Repeat.
This entire business is simply a diversion and a distraction to avoid facing the real and important issues that affect the lives of South Carolinians. None of these weaklings want to get involved in this issue because it puts them in an adversarial position which no matter the result will follow them to their graves. The hysteria has spread like a viral disease.
Walker was my choice, but now, after thrusting his Yankee bayonet into the backs of all honorable Southerners, attacking our heritage, our right to defend ourselves against outsiders and instigators who seek to rile up our black folks with talk of equality and justice, I just can’t support him any more. Ted Cruz in 2016.
Walker was for taking it down, before he was against taking it down, and now he is for taking it down. Is that you Mitt? Or did you just have to wait for the Koch Brothers to tell you who to support.
Finally, the Republican Party is throwing the racist rats under the bus. They’re about to find out what being a marginalized minority is all about and rightfully so.
