Yeah….no mental illness there. Clearly racism caused his attack.

Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn’t.

I know that if I’m walking on any MLK boulevard and I see a group of black youths with their pants down below their waists and it’s 2am, I’m going to cross the street and avoid them.

I’m quite sure that makes me a racist(but not a hater).

I’m also quite sure I’m not mentally ill.

Odd reference from a racist June 19, 2015 at 1:39 pm

I’m sure you wouldn’t walk around a seedy trailer park in Gaston at 2 AM either while meth heads were outside either. But you aren’t making a reference to areas rife with poverty, drug use, or other criminal activity in general, you are making a reference to blacks. That’s what makes you a racist.

A guy walks into a church and guns 9 people down, only a racist feels like reminding us there are black criminals in shitty neighborhoods as a way of defending racism.

“I’m sure you wouldn’t walk around a seedy trailer park in Gaston at 2 AM either while meth heads were outside either.”

That’s true. So let me narrow the focus as you’ve brought up a reasonable objection:

If I’m strolling down 5 points and see a group of blanks youths with their pants down around their waist I’m still crossing the street to avoid them.

If it’s a group of white youths with their pants down around their waists, I’m not.

Now, there are very good statistical reasons I’ll behave in that racist way- and it has nothing to do with whether the black or white kids really are criminals or not, nor the area that I’m in.

Statistics June 19, 2015 at 2:03 pm

I love the reactions on this site and others by racists. Normal people basically say things along the lines of how horrible this is, how the victims have their prayers, discussing what can be done to prevent things like this, asking if the guy has been caught, and other things of that nature. Racists come on and remind us of how prevalent crime is in the black community, or how they wouldn’t want to be on MLK street at midnight, or how some black churches preach hate, or how the guy had a few black friends so he can’t be racist. It’s like the racists come out to defend their own kind. It wasn’t long ago in our history where the racists were doing things similar to what Dylann did in droves, although usually they had hoods over their faces. The anonymity of the internet has removed the need for hoods, I am sure you are glad of that. If you could be so kind as to add me to the list of people you would cross the street to avoid I would appreciate it.

Race aside, I do really think the crime is horrible.

I don’t hate blacks, I just recognize difference based on race. (and so do most of them)

Follow your statistics and blacks, women and many others would never have gotten opportunities to prove themselves and we all would have suffered from the utilized potential.

4ccad64bee3cff3caa9fe25d9d6cfe9a?s=100&d=mm&r=r
Uh huh June 19, 2015 at 6:50 pm

Not true. If people are suffering from un-utilized potential they’ll account for that statistically.

What would be your solution if your worldview was correct? (and it’s not)

Is it to force people to do what you think is right?

19d449f1b06f84719356edbc3e7fb8cd?s=100&d=mm&r=r
Bible Thumper June 19, 2015 at 8:17 pm

You should do what is right without compulsion. Don’t always think statistically what us in my own interest. Think about others, not just yourself. A lot of people have taken statistical risks for the benefit of others and are happier as a result. Others fail but never regret the effort.

4ccad64bee3cff3caa9fe25d9d6cfe9a?s=100&d=mm&r=r
Uh huh June 19, 2015 at 9:29 pm

The issue at hand is not whether you should or should not take statistical risk, the issue is whether you should be allowed to do so “without compulsion”.

In that regard, you are correct. So simply get off people’s back on how or why they might or might not take their risks.

As long as they are hurting anyone(like forced compulsion) it doesn’t matter whether you agree with the way they take their risks, live their lives, etc.

Like I said, if you don’t mind wind by a group of black youths wearing their pants below their waist late a night, then go ahead and do it. I’ll do it my way.

I’m happy with my life, make yourself happy with yours.

Actually Colonel made the point elsewhere that Dylann was facing a felony charge and should not have been sold the gun, so the gun store may very well face issues. Else the state’s database is the cause in which case the state will have some issues.

Maybe racism is a form of mental illness. Not an excuse for his actions, but hating people purely on the basis of race is quite insane. Acting on it is a criminally insane act. However, the law needs to completely disregard the “insane” part, in a case like this. Throw the book at him. Hell, throw the whole law library at him.

I don’t like redefining evil as insanity. Insanity exist, but so does evil. Not all insane people are evil, nor or all evil people insane. Most insane people are still responsible for their behavior. You know this because of their ability to function in other areas of life and their ability to plan their crimes. If he went their with the intention ti kill and it wasn’t an impulsive act then he is responsible. He went there with a gun. He hates blacks, yet he chose to go there. He engaged in rational behavior in the hour before the attack.

I knew the Moons and Tony Cimo, son-in-law of Mr. Moon. In the last years of his life I got to know Solicitor Jim Dunn (who looked nothing like Joseph Conrad). And in the last few years of *his* life, I corresponded with and got to know my cousin Jack Martin who helped PeeWee with smuggled-in dynamite to do the deed that finally got him the death sentence.

All of these people, save PeeWee, were the salt of the earth. Jack is something of a folk hero around here. Rudolph Tyner needed killin’, is the way the thinking goes.

I’m conflicted on the death penalty, myself. But I would like to see Dylann dead, and suffering much in his dying.

The deed should be accomplished by civilian volunteers that make up a firing squad. Minimum of twelve members to each execution squad, with half aiming at the heart and the other half aiming for the head. The results would be quick and there would be no shortage of volunteers.
