COLUMBIA, S.C. (June 18, 2015) – The game times and network designations of South Carolina’s first three football games of the 2015 season were announced today during the news and information show SEC Now on SEC Network.

The 2015 season will open on Thursday, September 3, when the Gamecocks take on North Carolina in the Belk College Kickoff Game in Charlotte. Game time is set for 6 p.m. ET and the contest will be televised nationally on ESPN. North Carolina leads the all-time series between the bordering state flagship universities that dates back to 1903 by a 34-18-2 count, but the Gamecocks have won the last two and five of the last six meetings between the two schools, including a 27-10 win in Columbia to open the 2013 season.

The Gamecocks’ home opener, scheduled for Saturday, September 12 against Kentucky, will have a 7:30 p.m. ET kick and will be televised on the SEC Network. South Carolina holds a 17-8-1 advantage in the all-time series with Kentucky, including wins in 13 of the last 15 meetings between the two SEC Eastern Division rivals.

South Carolina will travel to Athens on Saturday, September 19, for its annual battle with the Georgia Bulldogs. ESPN will broadcast that game nationally, beginning at 6 p.m. ET. Georgia holds the series lead, 47-18-2, but Carolina has won four of the last five meetings, including a 38-35 win last season in Columbia.

Additional selections will be determined as the season progresses.

If they do not open the season with 2 wins over UNC and Kentucky, its going to be a long ugly season for them!

The more they loss the better for USC as an institution of higher ed. President Pastudes sold out to the sports and entertainment industry and a formerly poised university was gutted.

When was it “poised”, and what was it poised to do?

My understanding is the incoming SAT and graduation rates have both gone up. USCe is attracting smarter students, more of whom are graduating. What’s your beef?

I can’t believe that Will would watch taxpayer subsidized, government run sports. This is NOT a core function of government!

Here is my confession: My library of jokes has run out, and even though I have been recycling just about all of them, there seems to be new readers who get them. When football starts perhaps they will all be new if most of you have forgotten them already — they’ll be fresh(?)…..

One of the great tests of a good joke is that it CAN be repeated, often. Also, one of the great advantages of advanced age is the ability to hear an old joke for the first time, over and over again.
