“LUV GOV” TAKES A JAUNT TO HAVANA

|| By FITSNEWS || U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford was one of five members of Congress who traveled to the island of Cuba last weekend, sources in Washington, D.C. tell FITS.

Sanford’s office refused to confirm his trip – or disclose who paid for it – but the “Luv Gov’s” participation on the junket was confirmed by a source close to Sanford’s office who reportedly discussed it with colleagues in other congressional offices.

To his credit, Sanford has been a consistent advocate for normalizing relations with Cuba – however to his great discredit, he’s got a sketchy history when it comes to taxpayer-funded trips South of the Border.

Remember that?  If not, here’s a refresher …

Sanford and his fellow congressmen were reportedly in Havana to discuss the thawing of relations between the two countries.  We’ll be sure to let you know if this trip included any heated extracurriculars.

It’s been a rough stretch of late for Sanford, whose top staffers are dropping like flies …

There’s also an unflattering book coming out about the ex-governor, as well as the nagging of conscience that must accompany his multiple recent ideological betrayals.

UPDATE: Looks like Sanford’s trip was actually referenced in Cuban media last week.  According to Havana’s official news agency, Sanford and his colleagues were in the country to discuss “issues related to bilateral relations, including the ongoing process towards the reestablishment of full diplomatic relations and the opening of embassies in Washington and Havana, as well as debates at the US Congress on the lifting of the over-50-year US economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuba.”

Sanford may be hard up to impress a certain latina, while also cashing in by facilitating a trade deal. Maybe he is hoping to become Ambassador to Cuba with a satellite office in Buenos Aires?

Awkward Truth 5
Since Nikki Haley took office in January 2011, the state Worker – Population ratio has increased 1.7%. During the same period the nation’s rose by only 1.0%. During this same period SC’s population grew about 1.2% more than the county as a whole. So SC was increasing it’s Employment-Population Ratio against the headwind of faster population growth.

Did someone say there was an “economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuba.” Looks like the term “blockade” is qualified.

Wonder if Mr. Sanford’s trip was facilitated by the U.S.-Cuba Trade and Economic Council, Inc. (Established 1994).

America has been running a trade surplus w/Cuba for more than 20 years. A breakdown of products exported from the U.S. to Cuba shows they are mostly agricultural product. Wander what SC exports to Cuba are?

The data below shows a big jump in exports in 2002? Anybody know what happened then?

And, the next time Mr. Rubio stumps in SC, as him if he is member of the U.S.-Cuba Trade and Economic Council, Inc.

“President Obama removed Cuba as a state sponsor of terror Friday, forgetting the dictatorship’s long record of killing, smuggling, and yes, terror. If this is the new standard, why not just scrap the list entirely?”
“Just last Feb. 28, Colombian officials nabbed a Cuba-bound Chinese ship, the Dan Da Xia, loaded with illegally concealed weapons perfect for terrorist warfare, including 100 tons of explosives, 2.6 million detonators, 99 projectiles and 3,000 artillery shells.”
Colombia’s military, which is often at odds with its president, intially stated they believed they were weapons bound for the FARC terrorist group with which Cuba has had long ties.” “…similar shipments have been caught from the Chinese supplier in the past.” “If Cuba isn’t supplying them [FARC]…the only possible supplier is Venezuela – which just happens to be Cuba’s satellite.”

With Cuba’s rescission (refrain from terror for 6 months) from our terror list they now have access to World Bank loans.

Some History:
1962, First 9/11 style plot by Castro to bomb NYC department stores on Black Friday for max. casualties.

1963 assassination of Pres. Kennedy; Latin America scholar and CIA analyst, Brian Latell published credible research in 2014 pointing to Castro’s involvement.

Mystery deaths: Laura Pollan Ladies in White dissident. Cuban dissident Oswaldo Paya. Former Castro bodyguard died THIS month after publishing an expose exposing Castro as a drug dealer.

How has Castro changed… and if not, why are we? $$$$$ Here we go again….
