THIRD TRACTOR TRAILER CRASH THIS WEEK …

|| By FITSNEWS || Another accident involving a tractor trailer has shut down a major South Carolina thoroughfare.  This time it’s Interstate 26 in the South Carolina Lowcountry – specifically the road’s mile marker 173 (near Holly Hill, S.C.).

That’s roughly sixty miles southeast of Columbia … in Berkeley County, S.C.

According to law enforcement, a tractor trailer carrying a “corrosive powder” flipped and spilled a hazardous material on the roadway in the early morning hours – shutting down the main transportation artery between Charleston, S.C. and the state capital in Columbia.

Both eastbound and westbound lanes have been shut down as a result of the accident – and traffic isn’t expected to reopen until Friday afternoon.

A detour around the wreck site has been set up, but traffic along this route is “bumper to bumper,” according to one witness – with vehicles moving at about four miles per hour.

Ouch …

This is the third incident this week in which a major South Carolina highway has been shut down due to a tractor trailer crash.  On Tuesday morning, a woman attempting to change lanes slammed into a tanker truck on the Arthur Ravenel Jr. bridge – shutting down the iconic span for nine hours.  On Wednesday morning, a ten-car pile up on Interstate 26 just northwest of Columbia saw that thoroughfare shut down for several hours.

A traffic report? What’s next…a daily weather report? Watch the ‘clicks’ roll in now!

I guess it gets boring saying daily the world is ending.

The only time you’ll get weather reports here is for damaging storms.

Before anyone goes and blames the condition of the roads, which resemble those of a third world country, can we just have a discussion about drivers in South Carolina? The vast majority are reckless fucktards who show little or no regard for other motorists or pedestrians. I think driver education should be made a priority, and mandatory “rules of the road” tests should be included every license renewal.

Is there a black market taking cars from Cuba and selling them on used car lots in South Carolina? Basic safety inspections, like lights and brakes, should also be mandatory as part of a new roads bill.

Maybe these common sense provisions could help to pay for replacing our crumbling roads and bridges?

What we need on this stretch of road is a new interchange and a Volvo plant.

LOCK THEM UP May 29, 2015 at 3:51 pm

*Sighs* Just too many extremely aggressive breaking the speed limit big time drivers on South Carolina interstates. Why are we not locking a few of them up? Going 20 to 40 mph per hour over the speed limit is totally asinine and a danger to everyone else around these don’t give a shit fucktards. And if you notice, most of these idiot speeding drivers are BLACKS!!!!! Set up speed traps doing rush hour with 10 Troopers in one location, like on 26 Between Summerville and SC State road 78. The state can rake in tens of thousands of dollars in the matter of two or three hours. That will help with funds to repair all of the asphalt that is tearing up the front ends on thousands of automobiles rolling over these horrible roads across the state. Yeah. Use some of the surplus to put more troopers on the roads. Traffic tickets will pay for it all in a matter of a few weeks.

Ah most of this asphalt is being torn up by these tractor trailers hauling all sorts of Stuff to increase profits so companies can “invest” and ” crate jobs.”

Oh and you are a racist bigot.

I’m sure there’s a reason you point out the race of the racers. Care to share what it is, or are you just trying to score points?

Once again for the third or forth time:
The ever increasing number of tractor-trailers & increasing number of “cars” on the interstate highway system just don’t mix.
Something’s gotta give on one side or the other and I don’t think “cars” will be on the losing side of the equation……………………..
Oh,one more thing: I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SC port expansion is having a very negative impact on traffic and roads. Boeing adds to it. Now Volvo will add, too. Bad leadership. Bad planning. Stupid self serving politicians. SC residents are being fucked over.

Move as much of the freight back to the railroad as you can and you will lessen this problem.

It appears that we have to learn these people in South Carolina how to drive.
