Dear Editor:

The need for everyone to have attitudes of gratitude is every hour, second, and minute.  Our most high being has made it possible that the average joe can be a cup of joe for our everyday experiences.

The call to lead is not answered by many and only truly fulfilled by few.  Therefore, we must remember why we came here to this earth and that what we do not only stays here but follows us for the rest of our lives.  Hence, when we complete that application to work for the people of our community as public servants we need to put away our personas for the proven principles that promote our populace.  That is patriotism and compassion.

Every man who is a decent person based on human standards has the right to serve and those that buy in to the people have a right to be held in high regard. In this state we have the first minority and female governor in S.C. through Gov. Nikki Haley.  God has used her to show our children the possibilities that are almost beyond their most fancied fairy tales.

Next, we have Tim Scott the first black to be elected to both chambers in the law-composing body of America.  God used him too to be a bastion of assurance for the American dream.  One of the only ways we can truly take our hats off to these leaders is to build them a statue where they served.

Plus it could bring new tourists, educational chances, and new vantage point for recruits who want to come to our state.  More significantly, who else more objectively deserves these sculptures besides Haley and Scott?

Politicians are no angels. It doesn’t matter what they say or what party they belong to.

Mr Scott puts on a good show. But is it just that, a show? He sure jumped at every public office opportunity to put more money in his pocket, did he not? Lets see where he is in another 4 to 5 years. Meanwhile, a little less talk – and a lot more action, ok?

He has collected $267,201 from the oil & gas industry sources just in the 2014 election cycle, ranking him sixth in the Senate. In repayment, he is a co-sponsor of S1269, which would reduce the coastal buffer zone from 50 to 30 miles, and would allow subsurface equipment within 12 miles of our coasts.

Not so fast Jordan….Not so fast. I remember just in the last 6 months that Haley and Tim Scott stood in support of Stephen Goldfinch who is charged with a federal crime, which the democrats called as “heinous”. What more…by standing with Goldfinch, they actually also stood against the good doctor who has claimed for a long time that Goldfinch is the crook. Can you imagine how Haley’s and Scott’s support would have affected the good doctor’s opportunities in the community? Banding together and standing with a crook against a good man, for political gain…is that Christian for you? Somewhere in the 10 commandments has something to do with witnessing…just in case people forgot. People in powerful positions need to realize the enormous effect their God-given office has on others and on events. They probably forgot this incident, but I remember because of my friends who were at the event were so disgusted by Goldfinch’s attempts at wooing the voters! Well, Haley and Scott have to do something extraordinary to gain even a little bit of respect in my eyes as Christians after this past election. Sorry…I used to respect both…but that’s just my view…I sure would love to hear what they have to say about that incident.

It was the ‘Boz Martin’ Curse of Political Support (BMCPS)-not Haley or Scott that elected Goldfinch.
Martin is poison for ANY political campaign and he went after Goldfinch in the last election. He has a knack of electing the opponents of the people he allegedly supports in ANY campaign cycle.

Perhaps there is some merit to BMCPS. But I am not talking about election win or loss. It is what it is, whichever way that might have happened. I am more interested in the bearing of witness by Scott and Haley during the campaign, specifically related to “vouching” for Goldfinch, and whether that conforms to the Christian values most of us hold dear. Scott and Haley talk so much about their faith and their anchor in Christ. Sounds so good…but do those values show up when they are tested?? You be the judge…I bet most of us would fare far better than people who profess their faith so constantly, like these two. It is just such a wrong thing to do, at least for me.

Please. You never hear Jesus Christ roll off the lips of Obama. That one can be understood-he is a ‘closet’ Muslim. You seem to have the same problem about Christ and Christians though I doubt you are a radical Islam supporting Muslim like the occupier of the wHite House.

I would ‘vouch’ and vote for the devil before I would a Democrat or RINO. They are much more dangerous in my opinion. You know what you get with Satan and can deal with it. Democrats and RINO’s lie and run as Republicans to get elected and then fuck the country.

Thank you for the reply. My guess is they supported Goldfinch because he votes as a conservative.Rather have a flawed Republican than evil Democrat or RINO serving the people.

You seem to be stressed. I really do not have to prove my faith in Christ to anyone. That is between Christ and me. You may have your imagination run wild on where I stand in Christ…if you have time to waste. Christ is my everything. As for Christians…well, we need to goad each other towards the right path, and I am at it. That is my hope.

I only wish you the best in your journey and again thank you for your reply.

Senator Scott should be viewed as a hero to every American. From a troubled youth to an outstanding US Senator took a lot of hard work and dedication from a lot of people. He is a shining example of what America is all about. God bless our senator.

This is an excellent post. This story you just told about Scott is what bothers liberals.

Rugged individualism and hard work goes against the Democrat Party philosophy of keeping its voters enslaved- riding the perpetual welfare train on the same plantation-generation after generation.

Note how the congressman of shame has come out against Sen. Scott. Tim has broken the chains that hold down the Dim constituent base and is therefore a target .

Yes! Here in South Fuckyoustan we have Great Leaders, and not enough statues. While were at it let’s go ahead and build that statue of the Six Foot Tall Fetus proposed by one of our imbicile legistators to commemorate those would-be legislators we managed to abort.

In other States, that would be “foetus”.

Mr Scott, I could see a statue for. Haley, not so much, unless it were to be displayed in a (literal) “rogues’ gallery”.

Any dumb sumbitch who wants to erect a statue of anyone who hasn’t been dead at least 100 years needs to have a wolverine shoved up their ass and their asshole sealed off with crazy glue

Fucking Cockroach Worshiper

Once bridges, roads, statues, etc. started being erected in the name of living politicians it was a sign of how destitute society has become.

At least they had to remove Metts name from his building, I think about that every time I drove over Jake Knotts bridge.

Yeah, Nikki was a real leader when she screwed over Charleston for Savannah’s port for a few campaign contributions and a national spotlight. But hey, what’s $180 million to the taxpayers?

Up until then, I was willing to give her a chance, but not after that.

I’ll be glad to give Tim Scott his due, as long as GOPers admit he benefited from Affirmative Action.
