So, fire ’em.

Start lopping off heads from the top down until They have a plan to fix it.

Otherwise, open up the contracts to private bid.

If the members of the legislature keep voting to consolidate more power in the office of the governor when cabinet agencies have been exploding like giant putrid zits of corruption and incompetence for the last 5 years, when they don’t realize what they keep doing makes the functioning of SC government even worse than when they started messing with it, I wouldn’t expect them to be able to figure out much of anything.

Too many exploding zits at the top, not enough road repairmen leaning on shovels at the bottom. :-)

In South Carolina there is no “downside” to poor performance in public office. There is no punishment at the polls for self-serving or incompetent politicians. The same feckless office-holders are re-elected again and again and move on to higher offices. It’s like the Soviet Union — an inevitable consequence of a one-party state with a tame media. Government needs balance and critical oversight. People need to wake up and start work on a Third Force or nothing will ever change here.

This is the problem with the internet. Anyone can set themselves up as an arbiter of ‘the truth’, and try to pass it off as such. Fits needs a new Haley BJ, fast . His redneck libertarian schtick has grown tiresome.
