You have to be filled with self-loathing. You are everything people who think like you profess to hate. A lazy, unemployed taker. paying no taxes while sitting on your ass and collecting Medicaid benefits, SSI, and other public benefits; eating up precious resources, living on the backs of the taxpayers and producing absolutely nothing of value. In short a welfare king.

How’d that work again with Nixon doing it to healthcare? Surging costs and corporate greed bilking us. Or what about deregulating energy in California a’ la Enron artificially upping wholesale prices.

Be careful what you wish for. This notion that the private sector is a vaunted fair marketplace of wonder and delight is rubbish. They are just as greedy, inept and wasteful as the public sector…and they aren’t even as accountable. They only have shareholders to answer to…not taxpayers.

Sit down and really think about where this anti-gov push is coming from? I’ll give you a hint….millionaires and billionaires.

Reply
TroubleBaby May 13, 2015 at 11:19 pm

Mandated employer health care by Nixon is not free market…nor is federalizing Medicaid.

Enron bought and sold from public/gov’t utilities…again…not free market.

“They are just as greedy, inept and wasteful as the public sector…and they aren’t even as accountable.”

Companies in a true free market environment(I know, it’s hard to find now) that don’t please their customers go out of business.

Think about electronics, which is substantially more free than many other markets.

What about privatized prisons? Check out the spike in incarceration rates prompted by get tough on crime laws that were passed by legislatures manipulated by lobbyists for private prisons….all using our money.
The conditions of the prisons and treatment of inmates is sub-par given that profit is the prime motive.

That’s my point, in some cases privatization is good. However, in many other sectors where public welfare is concerned, it isn’t, b/c it emphasizes profit over people.

Reply
TroubleBaby May 14, 2015 at 12:27 am

“What about privatized prisons?”

The problem is they are still administered by a corrupt judicial system(gov’t) and funded in a round about way by taxpayer money.

Limbaughsaphatkhunt May 14, 2015 at 12:37 am

I see. So you are all about no gov’t and only customer response determining winners and losers?

That’s great and all but what about metal shards in my Cheerios? What about lead paint on my kids’ toys? What about tainted beef? What about toxic dumping into rivers?

I could go on and on and on but ultimately private companies will take the path of least resistance towards profit (until they are caught). Is that what you want? A reactive system to people dying?

TroubleBaby May 14, 2015 at 1:09 am

“That’s great and all but what about metal shards in my Cheerios? What
about lead paint on my kids’ toys? What about tainted beef? What about
toxic dumping into rivers?”

That’s what lawsuits are for- also, metal in your Cheerios isn’t a common worry, nor tainted beef, etc. et al.

“shit happens”- but I’m not for liability free society.

“A reactive system to people dying?”

As I mentioned before, companies that harm their clients as part of their business philosophy in a free market don’t last long(which is different from accidents), if they are government supported…then they sometimes get carte blanche and can screw people with impunity…but again, that’s not ‘free market’.

What are you arguing for? Pre-crime? I don’t think you want that.

euwe max May 14, 2015 at 4:11 am

The DEA killed more people than the FDA which killed more people than all the bad meat and drugs ever consumed!

People worry too much about labelling cockroach bits, weevil husks and rat part percentages, and not enough about the size of their paycheck!

The nanny state has protected the unlucky far too long, it’s time for those who can afford quality to eliminate the lazy bottom feeding leeches.. that’s what they deserve!

As it says in the bible, those who have much will get more, and those who have little will have that little taken away.

Eat the poor, feed the rich.

TroubleBaby May 14, 2015 at 8:52 am

The DEA is a horrendous organization, also supported by a corrupt judicial system….feeding the problems in the black community disproportionately to other races by imprisoning their youth over victimless crimes.

euwe max May 14, 2015 at 4:06 am

Yeah, who ever heard of corruption in the *private* sector?

It’s *laws* that make people criminals, and men with guns and steenking *badges* that put private, honest, hard working captains of industry in prison… let’s not forget *that*!

TroubleBaby May 14, 2015 at 8:53 am

Now, now- I never said let alone implied any of that.

It’s just that a free market is a far better long term arbiter of “fairness” that any attempts by a corrupt gov’t to moderate “fairness”.

euwe max May 14, 2015 at 4:04 am

Privatized prisons?

How about privatized police forces?

And what’s all this shit about licensing airplane pilots, and surgeons?

building standards and permits, toxic waste, dangerous explosives, deadly biological research permits, anthrax and plague controls, quarantine…

but – we need men with guns to stop women from having abortions!

RogueElephant May 14, 2015 at 8:16 am

Damn. You are against the Prison Industrial Complex. WOW you got one right !!! Add to that the Pharma Industrial Complex.
I have always been a free market Republican but there has come a time for regulation to keep sanity in business. For lack of a better option we have to have government. But only as much as needed. Not the all controlling mess we have now. Somewhere between where you and I are politically would result in a wonderful country.

Underfunded Infrastructure May 13, 2015 at 4:48 pm

Government actually doing its job is “playing politics” because it doesn’t go to some wealthy pro-Republican billionaire.

You can only politicize events when it results in cutting something or pointing a finger at the black community.

Seems to me the t-baggers cut off their noses to spite their faces.

When we refrain from baseless over-generalizations and concentrate on facts, there are several countries (western democracies) who are practically fully fledged socialist nations with better GDP per capita, lower crime, lower unemployment, better education, better healthcare, higher well being index etc…and their income tax rates are the same or only slightly higher than America’s per bracket.

Problem for t-baggers is that all that success comes with lots of gov’t and therefore you lot would rather live in a Fox News driven hellscape of guns and religion than actually embrace a model that can lift America to uber awesomeness.

Todd May 13, 2015 at 10:02 pm

There is zero reason something like train speed should be controlled by a single operator in the modern world. No for-profit outfit would ever operate under such outdated conditions. Only federal funding and federal protection from civil liability can explain this. We need to pull all federal funding for obsolete mass transit and spend it on autonomous car research. It is painfully obvious that it is the future of transportation. Too bad government never cancels a program that has federal employees on the payroll.

Reply

Who? Obviously I’m fooling you, though you provide such excellent tools for the endeavor, it’s hardly a compliment. All I can really do is magnify the job you’ve already done to yourself.

As a fool, you’re not that unique, except perhaps in your ranking – which makes sense. The truly insipid fools are marked by the energy they invest in childish obnoxiousness, as though the volume and intensity of their claims of self-worth somehow gives them relevance. I suppose it’s akin to closing the eyes while laughing so loudly at one’s own jokes that the imagined approbation of the audience isn’t contradicted by either sight or sound.

The plain meaning of even the most common conversation quickly becomes the most impenetrable subtlety, and must be “retranslated” into fool speak, in order to disguise the inability to understand.

Once a received message has been thus translated into nonsense, it only remains to open the tool box marked “childish taunts, tired cliches, rubber and glue” and select a well-worn reply.

Everyone else is a fool, to a fool.
