Not many in Pakistan, especially that area, give a shit about US interest and probably would have not told them anything. Look at the Pakistani doctor who helped with the vaccination program to get us closer he is in jail. Not to mention high level officers in the ISI had known about Taliban and Al Qaeda members being in areas of Pakistan and have done little to combat that.

I haven’t read the report personally so if I am wrong on this please let me know. I have seen in the media where his report claims the “Saudis” were funding Bin Laden. Who are they referring to when they say that? Saudis have funded Bin Laden from the start in the 80’s if you follow the money. Not necessarily the government but princes, well funded Wahhabis, and other “religious” organizations. Out of all of the stories that have come from this, this one is pretty undisputable. Read the book below if you are interested in more. It does a good job of showing the relationships the US State Department had with Saudis, Pakistanis, and Afghanis from the 80’s through the day before September 11th. Both the Saudis and the Pakistanis have played us many times. And the State Department seems to agree with this view of things since it is on their recommended reading for those hoping to become a foreign service officer.

In other words, he got his information from people who wouldn’t have had any first-hand knowledge about how the operation to take OBL down happened.
For someone who was so dogged about uncovering the truths in My Lai and Abu Ghirab, this is ridiculously sloppy work.
