PRESIDENTIAL CONTENDER EYES DEPARTURE FROM MILITARY …
|| By FITSNEWS || U.S. senator Lindsey Graham is reportedly preparing to leave the military … although as he’s made it abundantly clear he’s not about to stop sending other people into harm’s way at the drop of a hat.
Or for that matter using those troops on the U.S. Congress … assuming it fails to keep pumping money into programs like this.
The warmongering presidential prospect – a colonel in the U.S. Air Force reserve – is expected to announce his decision sometime prior to June 1. Graham served in the Air Force from 1982-89, when he joined the S.C. Air National Guard. Six years later, he joined the Air Force reserve – where he has served for the past twenty years.
Two year ago (almost to the day), this website published an explosive report detailing Graham’s military hypocrisy. While campaigning for Congress (and on his official website as a then-member of the U.S. House of Representatives during the mid- to late 1990s), Graham repeatedly referred to himself as “an Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm veteran.” He also repeatedly referred to himself as a “Gulf War veteran.”
These claims went unchallenged until February 1998, when The Hill published a story about Graham’s fitness to sit in judgment of then-President Bill Clinton – who at the time was facing impeachment for lying about his relationship with former White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
Graham’s problem? He was not a Desert Shield veteran, nor was he a Desert Storm veteran – nor was he a Gulf War veteran.
“While real soldiers were shipping off to fight in these engagements, Graham was a military lawyer whose closest brush with death came in preparing the wills of departing military personnel,” we wrote at the time. “Not only did he never see any action, he never even left South Carolina.”
Graham’s response? That he never “intended” to lie.
“I have not told anybody I’m a combatant,” he said. “I’m not a war hero, and never said I was. I never intended to lie. If I have lied about my military record, I’m not fit to serve in Congress.”
We agree … he’s not fit. And his dangerous war games have made our nation less safe.
We’re sure Graham’s announcement will be greeted by all sorts of praise for his “service.” And he will no doubt remind us how he “has the military’s back.”
In fact we suspect it will be a media and public relations coup for the aspiring national candidate …
Just know the truth: This guy got elected by lying about being a soldier, and has stayed in office by exploiting the blood and treasure of an empire now decidedly on the down slope of history.

Despite the fact that Graham is a FITS-Liberal-Tarain on too many issues…I thank him for his service…
I think Sanford slithered out of his commitment – or tried to- once he was elected…
Enthrall us with YOUR service record, sir……
STFU…you NAZI Dumb@$$…
You have hotkeys for this shit, don’t you?
NOW IT BECOMES CLEAR why you are so frustrated and angry — it’s because the NAZIS rejected you..!!

Inflated Footballs Died
Kudos for shortening it. A sentence of ignorance will at least get you noticed – instead of ignored…I’m glad you realized that no one is going to take the time to read all that stupid $#!t you write in trying – and failing – to emulate me…LMAO…
You just don’t have it…
I think he’s saying he doesn’t support the troops. He supports some of the troops though… just not you.
Hmmm, just thinking now that GT could have been the doofus prick seaman on my aircraft carrier. There was a moment on the flight deck when we were just off the coast of Cuba and he was on the edge looking down at the sharks….. and I could have ..??
He served with Dick Cheney.
Both were wonderful conservative moral republicans and I agree with you my friend.
He loves to play that military card. He doesn’t have the balls to work outside of the office and do grunt work.
He looks mighty bad-ass in the foto, but why is he wearing safety glasses? Is it because that female is standing too close to him, and why is he protecting his groin?
I wondered the same thing.
i can guarentee one thing though, it Col. Grahamn wasn’t there for the photo op, nobody would be wearing those safety glasses!!!!
Those things went back into the drawer as soon as he left the building
And I’m not saying that because of Graham personally, I’m saying that because he showed up as a colonel who also just happens to be a infulential US Senator – thus due to some reason why the airmen were SUPPOSED to be wearing safety glasses (but RARELY do in that particlual setting) saftey glasses were passed out and quickly put away as soon as he left. You can tell by the way the airman dosen’t look natural with the glasses on.
As a navy man you know the dog and pony show………….it’s the same in every branch
I wear the things 10 hours a day so I can tell when someone is used to wearing them or not
Correction!!!!!
That’s NOT an airman Graham is talking to, that’s an Army Staff Sgt.
Just looked more closely at the pic and say her rank on the “hangy-thingy” that the Army has these days…………
That’s what i get for “assuming” at first glance
Interesting, and if you look at the reflections in the mirror you see her with glasses, but there is another guy who isn’t wearing them.
Why does he remind me of the character Major Major Major Major from “Catch 22” ?
Maj. Major Major Major: Sergeant, from now on, I don’t want anyone to come in and see me while I’m in my office. Is that clear?
First Sgt. Towser: Yes, sir. What do I say to people who want to come in and see you while you’re in your office?
Maj. Major Major Major: Tell them I’m in and ask them to wait.
First Sgt. Towser: For how long?
Maj. Major Major Major: Until I’ve left.
First Sgt. Towser: And then what do I do with them?
Maj. Major Major Major: I don’t care.
First Sgt. Towser: May I send people in to see you after you’ve left?
Maj. Major Major Major: Yes.
First Sgt. Towser: You won’t be here then, will you?
Maj. Major Major Major: No.
First Sgt. Towser: I see, sir. Will that be all?
Maj. Major Major Major: Also, Sergeant, I don’t want you coming in while I’m in my office asking me if there’s anything you can do for me. Is that clear?
First Sgt. Towser: Yes, sir. When should I come in your office and ask if there’s anything I can do for you?
Maj. Major Major Major: When I’m not there.
First Sgt. Towser: What do I do then?
Maj. Major Major Major: Whatever has to be done.
First Sgt. Towser: Yes, sir.
1,000+ …. laffin’ my guts out – now I’ll have to read it again!
I said that about Graham not being a bona-fide Gulf 1 vet back when he was a congressman and noone even cared.
All the hypocritical conservatives were too busy kissing his ass – just like they did for that duty-shirking SOB Sanfraud (including Sic Willie himself).
On this topic, FITS has no room to talk since he carried his buddy’s water and was a first class brown-nosing/pig shit cleaning “hey boy” for Sanfraud back in the day.
One doesn’t “leave the service” after 20 plus years of service, one retires.
Stop with the facts! Folks doesn’t want them affecting his agenda.
Bullshit.
Look, not everyone gets the “big chicken dinner” when they “leave the service”. Sorry it happened to you.
Are you the general from the car insurance company?
Photo Caption: ” OK, now hold your penis like this and please try not to spill any on the outside of the bottle.”
Lindsey embodies the “Peter” principal
LOL! I see what you did there!
Right, either meaning.
Will he still be a JAG? Or was that a lie, too?
Yes, he will always be a fag.
Another of Folks’ little butt hole buddies (or is it Folks himself?) posting using my screen name.
Why is he leaving? Gays no longer have to worry about being “outed” and kicked out of the military.
You’d think he would stick around and enjoy the ride now that discrimination of that sort is no longer hanging over his head.
Maybe he liked the “danger” of getting caught?
I hadn’t thought about thay possibility.
Probably because he’s turning 60 and has 20+ years of service.
Folks continues his impression of Goebbels. The facts are that one is a veteran after honorably serving regardless of the tasks you performed while in service. The old saw was that it matters not if all you did was fold blankets in Louisiana, you are still a veteran. Now exactly what was the billet that Folks filled while he served in this country’s armed forces?
The real sore point is that Graham double-dips as a public servant. He gets paid by the air force while being paid as a member of Congress. Plus, he gets retirement, travel and health benefits from both. Plus all the other perks a senator receives. Her probably shops at the PX, although I can’t imagine why someone with his income would need to shop for bargains. Al;so, suppose once he’s out of the service will any of his boyfriends in blue write tell-all books? I hope so!

Will he use his fairy wings to do a final fly by the control tower Maverick style?
Maybe some shirtless, well oiled beach volleyball with a Iceman look a like to seal the deal?
I see two comments have been deleted- WTF? There is a daily rant on pretty much everything posted here where people swear at, insult, threaten, etc, other posters for what they write and Will does nothing about it, so my question is, how bad were those two comments that deleting them from this “flea marketplace of ideas” was necessary?
And yes, I am an unpatriotic American who doesn’t give a crap which letter gets the prime stealing spots at the public trough after any election and whose only reason for coming back here is in the hope that eventually Will will bring back the porn or his book, so save your breath…

Nurse: No, the flagon with the dragon has the pee that is blue.
Manny, fellow officers and civilians alike, have been deeply disturbed by Graham,s dishonorable0 conduct, as well as his uncountable breaks in his sworn oath to uphold his sworn oath to the Constitution. Any deserved punishments have not yet been determined,
so is a Senator/JAG, despite Hollywood’s versions, a real officer? In theater, other than photo ops, this is a REMF, with orders like Algore’s in Viet Nam to keep his carcass in one piece and if we need a lawyer (Senator Goober) or a budding photo journalist to take pics of dead Cong (senator’s son Al) someone else must go in harm’s way… Just sayin’
