|| By FITSNEWS || Bloomberg’s Consumer Comfort Index (CCI) is at its lowest level in eight weeks … and at its lowest level all year, if you live in the American South.

The index, which measures consumers’ comfort level on a scale of zero to 100, declined to 43.7 nationwide for the week ending on May 3.  That’s the survey’s fourth consecutive weekly drop.  In the South, the index slipped to 39.7 – its lowest reading of the year.

So yeah, about those lower gas prices stimulating a consumer renaissance … oops.

Americans views on the economy fell from 37.3 to 35.8, while the buying-climate index fell to a six-week low of 39.8 (down from 41.2).

Hmmm … no wonder those second quarter growth projections are looking so shaky.

Even those Americans’ making decent money – more than $100,000 a year – saw their comfort index dip from 73.7 to 71.9.

What’s the deal?  It’s easy: The more government grows at the federal, state and local level … the less economic growth we’ll see.  America’s economy hasn’t grown at an annual rate of three percent in ten years.  It hasn’t hit four percent growth in fifteen years.  And it hasn’t hit five percent growth in more than thirty years.

By contrast, growth exceeded five percent in twelve out of thirty years from 1950-1980.  And it exceeded four percent in seventeen out of those thirty years.

We’ve said it before, we’ll say it again: Until our leaders reverse course and engage the free market – as opposed to additional wealth redistributioncrony capitalism, welfare statism and global interventionism – don’t expect anything to change.  In fact expect things to get worse.

I LOVE to see how you F*#king liberals – like FITS- go back 10 years to start lamenting poor economics…

I agree that the economy began to inch downward after the 2006 elections, in which the Democrats took over Congress…but it took a while…

And the BIG BIG, BIG F*#king decline has been under Barack Hussein Obama…
Unrelenting unemployment, much, much higher gas prices and energy prices for the last six-plus years and healthcare DISASTER…added to NOSEDIVING household incomes…ALL UNDER OBAMA…Not to mention the $9 trillion Obama burden in deficit….while accomplishing NOTHING but misery…

Now FITS plays this 10-year Bull-S#!t to shield his lord-god, anti-American, bitter, hatful ,BIGOT president…it should make any decent American want to kick FITS’ lying @$$….

FITS you are viewed as a coreless, discredited Dumb@$$,…because you play in w/ the rest of the media…perpetuating the MYTHS of the Democrat Party…instead of providing realistic, and insightful analysis…of what the F*#k is wrong w/ this nation..

F*#k You…you dangerous B@$t@*d…

… Congress told the SEC, investigating “insider trading”, to go pee up a rope. (drudge today)

The “ethics rules” forbid elected congress from the practice, so the greedheads tell a staffer, the staffer tells a lobbyist, the lobbyist places the bet and kicks back to the congress critter in the form of a “contribution” or donation to the congress critter’s foundation or favorite “charity” …

In the executive branch, it all gets handled like ala Hillary … a currency or gold manipulation, deposits made to Swiss bank accounts or into a “foundation”.

Headline: Wealth gap widens as more forced to rent…
Headline: Exit poll: Conservatives surprisingly strong in UK election

Other than the stock market, that is being propped up by Obama for his wealthy investor class pals…every conceivable indicator is F*#ked up…under Obama…

We either make a SHARP turn from this miserable disaster known as the Democrat Party…or America will continue to swirl down the toilet…and if Democrats are not totally REBUKED by a true, and determined Conservative LEADER….we’ll get flushed pretty soon…

We desperately need a Hero…I pray we get one in 2016…who will lead the Congress right…and clean up this filthy mess Obama and the Democrats have made of our nation….

Not all bad news

We are in a painfully so recovery. It has slightly picked up pace in the last 5 or six quarters. Fits reports obscure stats. I have never heard of the Bloomberg’s Consumer Comfort Index. He doesn’t report the most well known stats if they are good news. (I’m tired. This reads like it was written by a 9 year old.)

The most prominent stat released today was the weekly unemployment claims report. The number of insured unemployment claims seasonally adjusted (sa) this and last week are the lowest in 15 years at 265,000 and 262,000. The four week running average (sa) is the lowest since May 6, 2000, almost 15 years (this week’s file date is April 25th.)

The “seasonally adjusted insured unemployment during the week ending April 25 was 2,228,000, a decrease of 28,000 from the previous week’s revised level. This is the lowest level for insured unemployment since November 11, 2000 when it was 2,161,000. The previous week’s level was revised up 3,000 from 2,253,000 to 2,256,000. The 4-week moving average was 2,271,500, a decrease of 20,000 from the previous week’s revised average. This is the lowest level for this average since December 9, 2000.”

FastEddy23 May 7, 2015 at 9:59 pm

You neglected to account for the newest 10 Million meskins in the job market … which distorts all economic snooze including the “unemployment” numbers.

(These are actually counted in Taxifornia where black inner city youths’ unemployment is topping out at greater than 30% in Oakland, fur example.)

GrandTango May 8, 2015 at 7:47 am

Be it the broadcast news, print or government agency…ALL economic news is reported as upside “RECOVERY” ….The problem is we’ve been in RECOVERY for 6-plus years…and the average worker, or small business owner is scraping by…w/ no real juice in the machine…The RECOVERY is just a fairy tale…

The economy is about as bad as it can be w/o a total collapse, and following Depression.

And if we don’t get a competent supply-side president leading this nation…we’re continue to suffer….

When you have artificially inflated energy prices, because of the coal industry is being attacked, w/ an ignorance toward more oil drilling….gas prices are astronomical.

When the life’s blood of commerce is way over-inflated…it chokes off everything…all profit goes to pay off oil speculators who are raking in billions, while the shopkeeper starves, the sanitation worker is terminated and the waitress can’t find a job…

On top of that, healthcare was already ridiculously over-priced to pay for non-payers, who invest nothing into their health…but break the system at the ER for a cold…then Obamacare kicks in…

We may have the most IGNORANT (of economics and human nature) president in history…

Obama is also a bigot, race-hater, myth-jockey, appeaser to dangerous anti-semites…and pretty bitter @$$-hole…

God helps us….because we have given our country over to our enemies…and they are punishing us w/ all the harshness of their hateful ideology…

I am also VERY proud of the way they have handled this. It is awful and my heart goes out to each and every family who has been affected. I feel for ones who have lost loved ones whether they are police or families, but the time is right for people to speak up. I read a great article about conservatives (which I have typically been one) that puts in perspective, posted below.

SC did the right thing. No community can heal without acknowledgement of a wrongdoing or even an apology. I thought when this first happened, I was a lone wolf fighting an uphill battle within my own party, only to realize there are other conservatives who feel the same way.

I know you don’t like hearing it, but the neocons of the Bush/Cheney administration just about wrecked the entire global economy. Obama has been able to spur a slow economic recovery inspite of the Republican’s all out efforts to thwart and block him.
Now the Republicans are loading up their clown car so fast with these wackos that they may as well just hand the election to Hillary.

Of course people in the South are unhappy. They live in states where the majority of the population is poor, stupid, and religious (although that’s redundant to “stupid”), with Republican governors and legislatures who ensure they stay that way. Praise Jebus!
