Not once has there been one connection made between the closing of this club and religion. Not one religious figure has been advocating closure of this club. For the interest of full disclosure, I believe Will Folks has mentioned that he attends church. It is not unusual that a bio would mention church affiliation with other personal information such as wife and kids.
There are others that might want this club closed including feminists, wives, girlfriends, local property owners and law enforcement. “Deputies said they have been called to the club 282 times since 2012 for a wide range of complaints, including armed robbery, weapons discharging and murder.”

I think it’s reasonable to deduct that the upstate of S.C. is the belt buckle of this bible belt state. Given the laser focus on social issues near and dear to the hearts of upstate residents (preoccupation with sex being one), it’s reasonable to then assume that a triad b/w law enforcement, the courts and politicians (all working in tandem to curry favor with the electorate) would try and get easy wins like this one.
